An Easy VALORANT Economy Guide

This guide will help you understand the VALORANT economy!

VALORANT is Riot Games' latest first person shooter game that took the gaming scene by surprise with over 1.7 million players watching the game on Twitch on its first day. If you're lucky enough to get access, you know that VALORANT is not just a straight up shooter but also comes with a strategic aspect of managing your economy. You can buy weapons at a price and each round you get additional funds. Depending on the round result, you may see more or less money go into your wallet, which raises the question of how this economy works exactly. This guide will help you understand how the VALORANT economy works.

First, let's start with an easy overview of the money you get for each round:

Round win 3000 credits Round loss 1900 credits Second round loss 2400 credits Third round loss 2900 credits  Every kill 200 credits Spike plant 300 credits

A full buy with a Phantom or Vandal, Heavy Shields and abilities costs around 4400 credits, so you're going to need at least two rounds before you can buy that. A light buy with a Specte and abilities costs around 3000 credits, so this is what we typically see in a second round buy for the team that won the first round.

As you can see, depending if you win the round and if you're an absolute killing machine, you might end up with quite varying rewards. No matter what, VALORANT is going to indicate the minimal credits you'll have in your next round, which helps you plan ahead for the next round.

VALORANT also makes it very easy to communicate with your team what you'd like to do. Using the buttons in the buy menu, you can indicate if you'd like to save, buy, or offer to spend your extra credits on a weapon for a teammate. If you happen to misbuy a weapon, just right click it to sell it for full credits again.

Last but not least, if you're short on cash then just right click a weapon and your teammates will be able to confirm if they want to buy it for you or not. No more dropping weapons on the floor for teammates like in CSGO, it all goes through an easy to use buy menu now.
