Top 5 Aim Maps in CS:GO

Improve your aim with this compilation of CS:GO maps.

Having a good aim is essential in a game such as Counter-Strike - there are no difficulty options when playing online, so you’re playing against other players that may have a better aim than you. But there are ways for you to improve faster besides just playing countless Matchmaking games or FACEIT PUGs - you can use aim practice maps.

In this article, you will find the 5 maps that are, in my opinion, the best ones to practice your aim. You’ll find some to improve your raw aim, some to improve your reflexes, and maybe something to even practice your pre-aiming abilities! These will come in no particular order, so make sure you try them all and understand what’s best for your training needs! Let’s optimize your time spent in CS:GO!

Training_aim_csgo2 - Aim and Accuracy Training

Easily one of the most well-known and reviewed aim maps in the Steam Workshop. You’ll get dropped in a shooting range, with various distances from the target available and you’ll spend your time shooting red dots.

Why is it good?

training_aim_csgo2 has a wide range of modes that will make you have a varied training session. Not only that, but it will actually track your progress by saying how much targets you’ve hit in a given time. Depending on the setting, the targets will only stay active for a brief moment before switching to another in a different place of the target wall.

You can change the speed at which these targets disappear and re-appear, providing an amazing asset to train your reflex and accuracy when changing targets. You can even change the size of the targets,m in case you find yourself having an easy time.

How does this translate to a match of CS:GO?

How many times do you find yourself in a situation where you’ll kill an opponent and then see another one appear in a different part of the screen? Almost every round! Being able to reset the aim faster and snap onto your second target as fast as possible without under or overshooting is a crucial ability in CS:GO - this Workshop map can help you in this.

Aim Botz - Aim Training

If there’s a classic map to train your aim in, it’s definitely Aim Botz! The creator of this map, Mr. uLLeticaL, probably never knew how many downloads it would rack up in the coming years after releasing it, but the truth is that even the majority of pro players use it, even for warming up before practicing or playing official matches. At the time of writing this article, this map has more than 16 million downloads!

Why is it good?

The map is pretty much self-explanatory. You’ll be shooting bots, having all the weapons at your disposal, and with an immense amount of settings. You want the bots wearing kevlar and helmet? Just press a button. You want to strafing left and right or moving freely? Press another button. Do you want a bigger or small arena? Yes, there are also buttons for that. You can even change the ground so that they’re not all the same height, allowing you to practice your aim in different leveled grounds.

How does this translate to a match of CS:GO?

Practicing with actual in-game models helps more than shooting other targets. It’s where you’ll be aiming most of the time, anyway, so why not make it as realistic as possible? Also, the number of options available can simulate a lot of situations that happen constantly in a real match.

Yprac Arenas - Prefire Practice

This one is more than one map - there’s actually one for each competitive map of the current poll. There’s a lot you can do with these ones, the work put into each of these is actually incredible, but given the topic of this article, we’ll cover the prefire option available in each of those.

As you know, there are spots where can you commonly find opponents hiding, especially when playing as a Terrorist. Being able to practice pre-firing on those spots will surely give you an advantage over the player that’s hiding in them and may even get you the glorious “cheater” message on the chat.

Why is it good?

Sure, you may know all the spots, but do you know exactly how high your crosshair should be, how much steps you should do before starting the prefire to make sure you have your opponent in your crosshair? This is exactly where these prefire maps will help you, especially since they’re actually the maps you’ll be playing in a competitive match.

Fast Aim/Reflex Training

This map has its type written out on his name! You’ll be dropped on a single platform where you’re unable to get out or jump from while several bots with knives will start running towards you. The objective is simple - kill as many as you can before eventually dying from their knives.

Why is it good?

Since you need to be aware of bots coming at you from all sides, you’ll need to keep your mouse movements quick and swift, while practicing aim by killing the bots that are running towards you. A really simple map that is guaranteed to push you to your limits and where you’ll be seeing the snappiness of your shots improve by the hour!

How does this translate to a match of CS:GO?

Being able to quickly adjust your aim is crucial in CS:GO, especially when you’re in an open field and an opponent pops out of nowhere. Being able to have a good accuracy while flicking can save your file so many times and even give you those highlight shots. This is the main point of this map, being able to quickly shift from target to target, even when they’re coming from different directions.

Recoil Master - Spray Training

This is another map that can upgrade your game to the next level. As you may know, every weapon in CS:GO has a different recoil pattern, and if you want to have the best aim possible, you better learn them so your bullets go exactly to where you want them during a spray.

Why is it good?

This map is really well made! You start shooting at the center circle and then just follow the blinking dots that star appearing with the movement of your mouse. You can try different weapons, different distances, everything!

How does this translate to a match of CS:GO?

I mean… it’s a spray! How many sprays do you do on do on a match? Countless, I know. The better you are at them, the better your chances of killing your opponent! This a really straightforward one, just go out there and destroy your opponents with your new set of acquired skills on the Recoil Master - Spray Training map.

Remember that there are thousands of submissions on the workshop and there are probably some amazing ones that are yet to be found by the majority of the community. But if you don’t want to dig through the Steam Workshop, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with the compilation I’ve written above.

Make sure you have fun while improving, that’s the main point of the game. Get out there and become the best version of a player you can be!
