Interview With New Dignitas Rocket League Player - Yukeo

I chat with Yukeo about his move over to Dignitas and what his goals are for the coming year under our wings.

Maurice 'Yukeo' Weihs is a professional Rocket League player who just joined with Dignitas after moving over from FlipSid3 Tactics. Yukeo has proven himself as a rising star and one of the best players in the game. He will join alongside Turbopolsa and ViolentPanda who have multiple World Championship titles between them.

We sat down with Yukeo to ask him about his move to Dignitas and his goals for the upcoming season with his new teammates.

First of all, welcome to the team! How do you feel about joining the Dignitas brand and what was the recruiting process like?

Yukeo: It's an honor to be a part of Dignitas, they have been dominant for such a long time. About the process, Dignitas approached FlipSid3 Tactics saying that they had interest in trying me out. Making the decision to leave F3 was difficult at first, since we kept getting better and closer to actually winning something and there is always a risk involved when joining a new team. Fortunately, I get to play alongside two World Champions and for a great organization, so I feel I'm in good hands during my transition.

You’re a relatively new player to the professional scene – what was the initial appeal of Rocket League to you and did you ever think you would come this far?

Yukeo: I enjoyed playing Rocket League and decided to just put in enough time into it and thought about what I have to do to improve. Luckily F3 wanted to try me out when I was a bubble player. I am glad that I was able to show them that I was worth it.

You’ll be playing alongside Turbopolsa and ViolentPanda who each have multiple World Championship titles – what do you hope to bring to a team who has two incredibly high caliber players?

Yukeo: Of course my goal is to win major events. I want to dominate the competition and I hope it will work out with my new teammates.

You made a post saying, “I really hope I get to lift a trophy with them [Dignitas] once we get used to each other properly.” Do you think you’ll have any trouble coming together quickly? How much have you guys been practicing together already?

Yukeo: We are currently scrimming every day and I think we just need to keep doing that and most importantly compete in important tournaments to understand eachother’s thought process in different situations. I expect a win this year, otherwise I won't be happy with my personal performance.

The first event Dignitas will play in together with you on board is next weekend, January 26-27 in WSOE 4. Do you think you will be prepared?

Yukeo: Yes, we will be prepared, I don't expect a win at our first LAN already, but I will just give it my all and hopefully learn from it to be ready for RLCS.

What are your goals as an individual and a team for this coming season?

Yukeo: My individual goal is the exact same goal as our team - to win a LAN.

What do you think of all the other roster moves that happened this off-season? Any players or teams you’re especially excited to play against?

Yukeo: It will be a crazy season for sure. I'm probably the most excited to play against my old teammates, kuxir and miztik.

Thank you so much for answering some questions! Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to?

Yukeo: Thanks to everyone who respects my decision to leave F3 and is still supporting me no matter of what team I am playing for. Those are the kind of fans I want and need. Also a shoutout to Dignitas and our sponsors for believing in me.

Be sure and follow Yukeo below to keep up with him and the team!
