Itemization is one of the most important things when it comes to being successful in League of Legends. Knowing what items to build on a specific Champion can determine how good or how bad your games can be, and with the introduction of nine new items during Season 16, it can be confusing for a lot of players when trying to integrate these new items into their Champion’s build. Here’s a rundown of every single new item introduced in Patch 26.1 of League of Legends, as well as examples of Champions you can build these items on.

Dusk and Dawn is an item mostly geared towards AP fighters. Dusk and Dawn grants 70 AP, 300 Health, 20 Ability Haste, and 25% Attack Speed. Its passive ability, Spellblade, empowers your auto attacks to do more damage, scaling off of your base AD with a bit of extra AP damage. The extra on-hit damage helps give these AP fighters an offensive boost while in combat.
This item works best on Champions in the top lane that are incentivized to auto attack quite frequently, like Kayle or Gwen (for example, Kayle’s E immediately triggers the Spellblade passive).

Fiendhunter Bolts is an item designed for ADCs who like to maximize the use of their Ultimate ability. This item, upon completion, grants 40% Attack Speed, 25% crit chance, 4% Movement Speed, and 30 Ultimate Haste. Fiendhunter Bolts’ passive, Opening Barrage, gives 50% more Attack Speed, as well as allowing you to crit for 75% of your normal crit damage.
As stated above, this item is meant for ADCs that are dependent on their Ultimate to do lots of damage. Vayne, Twitch, and Yunara are examples of Champions that will excel with this item.

Endless Hunter is meant for Champions that prioritize sustain while in lane or ganking. This item grants 60 Attack Damage, 20% Tenacity, 5% Omnivamp. and extra Ability Haste that scales off of your bonus AD. Additionally, this item’s passive, Feast, gives 15% more Omnivamp for 8 seconds after a Champion that you damaged dies.
This item gives huge amounts of Lifesteal to Champions like Briar, and combined with another item meant to give Lifesteal like Blade of The Ruined King, Champions like Samira become hard to deal with.

Bastionbreaker is meant to give AD Assassins more agency across the map, especially during late game when their power falls off slightly. Bastionbreaker. on completion, grants 55 Attack Damage, 22 Lethality, and 15 Ability Haste. Bastionbreaker also has two passive abilities; the first being Shaped Charge. Shaped Charge allows your Ability damage to do extra true damage that scales off of your Lethality. Bastionbreaker’s second passive, Sabotage, allows AD Assassins to do more damage to turrets or epic monsters, which also scales off of your Lethality.
This item is, again, meant to give AD Assassins more power during late game and allows them to push their lanes further while also giving them more value outside of Champion takedowns. Zed and Naafiri are good examples of Champions that can use this item to its fullest potential.

This item is the only Active item to be introduced during this new season, so it is important for players to use it appropriately as its cooldown is 60 seconds. Actualizer is meant to promote the use of mana items, such as items that have a build path including Tear of the Goddess. Upon item completion, Actualizer grants 90 Ability Power, 300 Mana, and 10 Ability Haste. Actualizer’s ability, Mana Made Real, increases mana costs but grants you increased ability damage, healing, and shielding as well as reducing cooldowns on basic abilities by 30%
Actualizer is best used on Mages that get a lot of value out of their mana, like Karma or Ryze. Using this item can help you get maximum damage and utility out of your abilities, and allow you to turn a teamfight or help contest a crucial late-game objective like Elder Dragon or Baron Nashor.

Hexoptics C44 is an item meant for ADCs that thrive with extra Attack Range. Upon completion, Hexoptics C44 grants 50 Attack Damage and 25% Crit chance. This item has two Passive abilities, the first being Magnification. Magnification allows ADCs to deal up to 10% more damage with auto attacks, depending on how far away an enemy Champion is. The second ability, Arcane Aim, increases auto attack range if a Champion that you damaged within 3 seconds.
Caitlyn and Jinx are good examples of Champions that can use this item to properly space or kite the other enemy carries. Jinx’s passive can allow her to chase down an entire enemy team, and with this item, it makes her an even deadlier force in-game when scaled all the way.

Bandlepipes are an item introduced specifically for Tank supports. On completion, this item gives 200 Health, 20 Armor and Magic Resist, and 15 Ability Haste. Bandlepipes’ passive ability, Fanfare, grants a buff to your movement speed when an enemy Champion is slowed or affected by Crowd Control. If Fanfare is active, it also gives yourself and your allies an increased amount of Attack Speed (30% if melee, 20% if ranged).
This item has already seen lots of use in Tank supports like Braum, Nautilus and Rell. Landing your CC on these Champions while having this item is an easy way to help get an ADC fed due to the buff granted with Fanfare, and using this item can give you a quick advantage in lane.

Protoplasm Harness is an item primarily meant for tanks in order to keep them alive for longer during teamfights. On completion, this item will grant 600 Health and 15 Ability Haste. Protoplasm Harness’s passive ability, Lifeline, gives Champions 200 max Health when their health dips below 30%, while also granting healing, 250% Armor, and 250% Magic Resistance for 5 seconds. While this buff is active, Champions also gain 15% size, 10% Movement Speed, and 25% Tenacity.
This item allows Tanks to more comfortably choose between continuing a fight or trying to get out of it. Poppy, Rammus, and Dr. Mundo are good examples of Champions that can use the extra durability granted from this item to become an even bigger and harder to kill threat to the enemy carries.

Whispering Circlet and Diadem of Songs are the new Tear of the Goddess items, and it is recommended to build this item on Support Champions that have a lot of healing.
Whispering Circlet, on completion, will grant 200 Health, 300 Mana, 75% base Mana regeneration, and 8% Heal and Shield Power. Its passive ability, Harmony, grants Heal and Shield Power that scales off of your bonus mana.
When this item reaches the max stacks of 360, it transforms into Diadem of Songs. This item gives 200 Health, 1000 Mana, 100% base Mana regeneration, and 8% Heal and Shield Power. Diadem of Songs keeps its prior form’s passive, but it also gains a new ability, Consonance. Consonance heals nearby Champions when they are in combat, and the amount scales off of your bonus mana.
This item has already seen success in lots of Enchanter Champions, namely Sona and Soraka. This item, combined with other healing items like Moonstone Renewer and Echoes of Helia allow Supports to keep their teammates alive for very long periods of time, and fully built Enchanters with this item in late game can help their teammates sustain through tough fights.
Knowing how your items work, and which situation to build these items in can help you climb further and higher than you realize. Although the text for these items can look intimidating at first sight, it is important to understand how they can affect your gameplay or even turn a whole game around.
