In League of Legends, there are some secret missions hidden from plain sight. These undercover challenges offer more than just lore fun facts – they come with unique buffs that can truly change the outcome of the game. In this article, you will discover how to complete these hidden missions and how you can secure these small victories.
There are five missions in total spread across League of Legends and its mobile counterpart, Wild Rift. Whether you're a seasoned Summoner or a Rifter exploring the Wild, the following missions promise a thrilling experience that goes beyond the ordinary:
Kha’Zix vs Rengar
Perhaps the greatest of rivalries between two champions is none other than the one between Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver, and Rengar, the Pridestalker. Their climactic in-game clash appears upon the first reaching level 16 and the latter having 5 trophies, marking a pivotal moment where they settle their longstanding feud on the Rift.
Within the exclusive event dubbed "The Hunt Is On!," a captivating narrative unfolds. Kha'Zix and Rengar embark on a unique quest, each tasked with locating and taking down the other. The outcome of their singular duel not only signifies a momentary triumph but secures a permanent upgrade for the victorious champion, solidifying their dominance over the other.
As the Hunt concludes, the triumphant champion gains a lasting advantage – a transformative enhancement permanently elevating their abilities, either a 6th trophy for Rengar, or a 4th ability upgrade for Kha’Zix.
Live on Summoner’s Rift, another fascinating tale unfolds involving Thresh, the Chain Warden, Senna, the Redeemer, and Lucian, the Purifier. This captivating narrative, encapsulated within the ‘’Sentinels of Light’’ event, takes center stage when the stars align – Thresh and Senna end up on opposite teams, with Lucian optionally participating in the match on Senna’s side.
The Sentinels of Light event introduces a twist to Thresh's character, known for his association with darkness and the collection of souls – and Senna’s specifically. During this event, Thresh takes an unexpected turn by purifying Senna's (or Lucian’s) mist. This symbolic act challenges the established lore and offers players a narrative surprise that goes beyond the usual clashes and takedown buffs on the Rift.
Following the successful purification of any of the duo’s mist, the event grants Thresh a substantial advantage – an increase on Attack Damage and Crit Chance, as well asa Range Increase if the fallen is Lucian. On the contrary, if Thresh is slain by either (or both), bonus Ability Power and Armor are granted to the killers.
In essence, the Sentinels of Light - marked by many as the most intriguing event - truly enriches the League of Legends’ experience by intertwining the stories of Thresh, Senna, and Lucian in an unexpected way. It demonstrates the developers' dedication to creating a more immersive and layered gaming environment, where the characters' stories evolve beyond the standard gameplay, adding depth and complexity to League’s universe.
Very recently added to live servers, the captivating mission known as the "Golden Ratio" unfolds, casting Hwei, the Visionary, and the Virtuoso Jhin into a symphony of conflict when both champions are alive and reach level 12. This matchless, high-stakes showdown introduces a twist: the victor attains the Golden Artist buff, a mark of their artistic triumph at the other’s expense.
For Hwei to emerge victorious, he must masterfully eliminate Jhin with his Ultimate Ability, Spiraling Despair. The successful execution not only unlocks the coveted Golden Artist buff, granting a 3.33% boost in Magic Penetration but also brands Jhin with a symbolic icon, a visual representation of his loss.
Conversely, if Jhin proves dominant, his path to artistic supremacy lies in eliminating Hwei with his Ultimate Ability, Curtain Call. The successful execution not only bestows upon Jhin the revered Golden Artist buff—a majestic 4.444 Lethality boost—but also brands Hwei with the aforementioned symbolic icon, a visual reminder of his defeat in their artistic duel.
The "Nemesis Duel" mission in League of Legends: Wild Rift plunges players into a gripping confrontation between Ornn and Volibear. Activated when specific conditions align—proximity, relatively high levels and a brief unscathed duration—the mission creates a tale of rivalry on the grand stage of Wild Rift – and Wild Rift only.
Should Ornn emerge as the victor, the enhancement manifests in his (E) ability, Searing Charge. This skill gains additional effects, as enemies struck by the knock-up are now slowed, and Ornn receives a protective shield, fortifying his durability in the thick of battle.
In opposition, if Volibear claims the win, the enhancement is bestowed upon his ultimate, Stormbringer. Post-casting, the spell introduces a potent knock-up effect to the surrounding area, amplifying the impact of Volibear's formidable ultimate ability.
Last, the "Bad Blood" mission in Wild Rift dips players in a compelling narrative, winding the longstanding rivalry between brothers Nasus and Renekton into the fabric of the game. Triggered by the same specific conditions as in "Nemesis Duel", the mission transforms the battlefield into a stage for a high-stakes confrontation, the outcome of which significantly influences the game's unfolding story.
Upon Nasus securing victory, his iconic Q ability, Siphoning Strike, undergoes a metamorphosis, now dealing area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Else, if Renekton prevails, his ultimate power, Dominus, receives a lasting enhancement. Fury levels, integral to Renekton's skill set, remain consistently at their maximum throughout its whole duration, a symbol of the enduring impact of his triumph over Nasus.
These intricate elements not only add tactical complexity to Wild Rift in comparison to regular League of legends, but also provide players with a mysterious exploration of the lore that defines the relationships within the League of Legends universe, turning each match into a dynamic and story-rich experience.
To sum it up, delving into the special stories and missions between champions in League of Legends has been like uncovering hidden treasures throughout the game. Whether in the classic Summoner's Rift or the exciting Wild Rift, these interactions bring an extra layer of fun to the gameplay. From intense rivalries to unexpected friendships, each story gives us a closer look at the unique personalities and connections between our beloved champions, as described in the lore.
The up and coming "Golden Ratio" mission promises an interesting face-off between Hwei and Jhin, bringing depth to strategic play. The mission featuring Senna, Lucian and Thresh unfolds the duo’s quest to reach eternity while, on another front, the primal struggle between Kha’Zix and Rengar calls players into proving themselves as the best in-game predator.
