A Strong Start in the NA LCS

A brief overview of  Team Dignitas's performance in the NA LCS Summer Split.

Note: this article was written just before the start of Week 6. Team Dignitas went 1-1 in Week 6 and is now drawed for first place.

Before the beginning of the 2014 League of Legends Summer Split, Team Dignitas, to the delight of fans everywhere, announced the acquisition of players Darshan 'ZionSpartan' Upadhyaha and Danny 'Shiphtur' Le. With two new and very strong solo laners, expectations were very high for the new team, but they did not disappoint. Team Dignitas would start off the split 3-1, leading the pack of LCS teams from first place.

They defeated the reigning champions Cloud 9, newcomer team Complexity, as well as Evil Geniuses. The only game dropped would be a close match versus Curse. Since acquiring the lead, the squad hasn’t given it up, charging strong into every week. Team Dignitas has become a team others fear to face in any week of the LCS.

Now halfway through the split, Team Dignitas has a winning or even record against every team in the LCS except CLG, who they are tied for first with at the moment. LMQ is also tied for first, but Team Dignitas has won both matches against the new and extremely talented Chinese team.

The Summer Split’s halfway mark also reveals that Shipthur has the highest KDA of any player in the league and is looking to be a strong candidate for the split MVP. Shipthur isn’t the only member performing extremely well however. Michael "Imaqtpie" Santana and Alan "KiWiKiD" Nguyen are proving to be one of the most talented bot lanes in NA, while ZionSpartan continues to prove he is a very strong and consistent force in the top lane. Alberto "Crumbz" Rengifo, Team Dignitas’s jungler, has also had an astounding performance this split, showing that his synergy with the new roster has let him show he is one of the best junglers in the North American scene.

The Team Dignitas League of Legends team is off to a strong start this split, and if they keep up their momentum and continue to perform at the caliber they have been, the team will easily secure a spot at the World Championships in the upcoming regional playoffs.
