Bakasura Smite Guide
The guide to taming the Hindu demon Bakasura
The guide to taming the Hindu demon Bakasura
A horrendous demon with a bottomless appetite for human flesh, Bakasura is a nightmare come to life.
After committing countless atrocities, Bakasura has demonstrated no end to his depravity, no limits to his brutality, no sating his desire to slurp human meat, crunch bone, and guzzle hot blood. So many are his vile victories over mankind that they cannot be relayed here, yet it his defeat at the hands of a man that is worth the telling.
According to the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, the famous Pandava brothers were traveling in exile with their mother, Kunti, when they came to the village Ekachakra. Disguised as brahmins, they sought alms from the villagers in order to sustain themselves. They soon learned that a demon, Bakasura, was living outside the village, devouring the people as they passed through the woods. The chief went to the demon and begged that the feasting stop. In return, a cart of food would be sent to Bakasura each day. Bakasura consumed not only the provisions, but the person that brought the cart as well.
After hearing this tale from a weeping woman whose son would bear the cart on the morrow, Kunti declared that her son Bhima, who possessed impossible strength and had slain demons before, would take the cart instead, as repayment to the kindness the villagers had shown their family.
Once in the forest, Bhima nonchalantly ate the food intended for Bakasura. Furious, Bakasura threatened to eat Bhima, which he just laughed off, goading the demon to attack him. All day they battled until Bhima finally slew the demon, tied him to the cart and dragged the body back to the village, where the people celebrated the victory in bewilderment.
Hunger, however, is a demon that cannot be defeated and, inevitably, Bakasura’s disgusting rumble will rise again, now more ravenous than ever and ready to feed.
Passive Insatiable Hunger - Bakasura's passive grants him 10% Movement and 10% Attack speed when killing a minion, max stacks 3 (30% Movement + 30% Attack Speed) Lasts' 10 Seconds Killing a minion refreshes timer.
1st Ability TakeDown – Take down is a leap and Bakasura's only escape (With the exception of Actives) that deals damage and debuffs enemy protections.
2nd Ability Eat Minions – Eats any regular minion at full health and heals while in jungle. Cyclops and middle Furies must be dropped to 30% before ability can be used. Gives protection For 5 Seconds.
3rd Ability Butcher Blades – Adds true damage to Bakasura's basic attacks as well as giving Bakasura a temporary physical power buff.
Ultimate Regurgitate – His most important ability applies a ground telegraph that slows enemies in it as well as applying a cripple. When initial use of this ability it gives a 1.5 Second CC immunity.
Leveling Importance- Due to Bakasura's mechanics Butcher Blades and Eat Minion are the most important to level followed by Regurgitate and Takedown.
Bakasura's Advantages – High mobility, situational, burst damage/true damage
Disadvantages – Like most assassins he's easy to kill , slows make kill potential drop dramatically, crowd control may result in death.
Positioning – Since Bakasura is very squishy and depends on close combat often the best way to engage is through an unseen route. For example if you can have an opportunity where your enemy does not know you are there and you can attack them from behind, the best order to engage would be to use Regurgitate and Butcher Blades. Another good way to engage is having active sprint and jumping over walls and using Regurgitate. This sets up kill potential but can be dangerous depending if any CC heavy Gods are present.
A recent survey concluded that Bakasura is one of the most balanced Gods in smite and the reasons given for this are that he can be played anywhere decently although he shines in specific roles better than others. Here is the list best to worst roles for Bakasura [Jungle,Solo,Mid,DUO]
Jungle Bakasura Starting Builds
Solo Bakasura Starter Builds
Middle Bakasura Starting Build
Hunter/ "Support" Bakasura Builds
Reminder: For consumables you may opt in for wards as well instead of HOG 2, HOG 1 and Boots 1 / I also recommend you don't go Frostbound (tier 3 Heavy Hammer) just (tier 2) Heavy Hammer.
Full Bakasura Builds Late Game - All builds depend on situations (some examples given)
WARRIOR TABI – FATALIS – QUINS – RAGE – MAGI'S BLESSING – DEATHBRINGER
This Build Would be good if the enemy has CC and that is the only problem you're having.
WARRIOR TABI – QUINS – RAGE – WITCHBLADE – DEATHBRINGER – MAGIS
This build would be good if you are struggling against the enemy physical jungler and CC as well as if they have a majority of physical Gods.
WARRIOR TABI – FATALIS – QUINS – DEATHBRINGER – RAGE – BLOODFORGE
I would recommend this build if you need a little more sustain and the enemy team is not CC heavy. (Also good for boxing enemy gods due to lifesteal)
WARRIOR TABI – DEVOUR GLOVES – QUINS – RAGE – FATALIS – DEAHTBRINGER
A good overall build for most situations.
WARRIOR TABI - EXECUTIONER-RAGE-DEATHBRINGER-TRANSCENDENCE-TITAN'S BANE
Tower shredder Bakasura, this build is good if the enemy has high protections. Although I do not recommend late stacking items as Bakasura typically stacks fast. This build is to shred through objectives such as Towers, Pheonixs, Fire Giant or Gold Fury.
Actives To Consider
• Bakasura has one of the best early stage kits.
• Bakasura lacks good wave clear early in the game so sometimes this is why the active HOG can come in handy.
• Bakasura's early peak will be at level seven where you would normally have one point in Take Down, one point in Eat Minion unless you are struggling (If you are struggling early use Eat Minion as sustain) four Points in Butcher Blades and one in your ultimate. This is when Bakasura shines the most and has the most kill potential in early game after level 5.
• Level 5 is when Gods get to put an ability point into their ultimate. Bakasura's ultimate stacks up to 6 minions that he can regurgitate early, and the damage these minions do is insane which makes his ultimate one of the best in the early game. (All 6 minions do more damage than Bastet cats in the early game) It also applies a cripple and a 25% slow.
• When in lane at this stage try avoiding using your jump as clear as minions will target you and unless you have the health from Heavy Hammer you will not be able to take the damage for long.
Tips:
- Use Eat Minion on the big minion as he has the most health and will make it easier to clear wave against only small minions.
- If you get HOG and have it off cooldown in lane use it on the back three Minions as this will activate your passive, and if the enemy is pushed up engage.
- Before fighting in lane early stages kill two minions and than eat a minion to activate Bakasura's passive and Eat Minions protection buffs.
- Before advancing: Bakasura can activate Butcher Blades and Regurgitate (ULTIMATE) At the same time.
•At this point in the game if you are ahead of the pack in levels you still have some great kill potential. If you are not, consider taking some time to farm heavily.
•If the enemy team Gods have escapes in their kits this is where you will start to notice this as Bakasura's percentage slow starts to not matter as much.
• If you think you will not win a fight against an enemy but just by a little bit consider engaging with his ultimate and Butcher Blades
• If you are not playing as a jungler still do some jungle camps Bakasura's jungle clear is insane due to Eat Minion.
• Bakasura Tends to fall off the later the game goes so try keeping ahead.
Tip: Bakasura Has Poor Team Fight So Consider Saving Regurgitate for Team Fights, But this is not a good excuse to not use it for single kills.
• At this late stage in the game you most likely have all your items and are hitting crits between 400-600 damage.
• Protections from eat minion matter less at this stage in the game so be more cautious when engaging as you are easy to kill.
• Bakasura is meant to engage after your team has done some form of CC or have lowered the enemies to a decent amount of health. The reason is, if they have let's say 60% health, you can burst them to 0% before they react. But if they are 80% health without being CC'd they may still have a chance to turn on you and target you before you kill them.
If you are not in a team fight be careful to not be caught out. Bakasura is quite easy to kill, a single CC Ability followed by a few basics from the enemy Hunter are enough for a death. Consider targeting enemy gods with no escape, and if an enemy God is out of position it is quite simple to kill them as Bakasura has a great 1v1 capability.
• Be aware of your surroundings. Let's say you are in a team fight and your health is decently low, run to the jungle and use your eat minion to heal up and if you have lifesteal kill the camps to regroup health and activate your passive.
• If you know you are going to die, keep fighting. Bakasura has a quick enough burst where you can kill an enemy that's at 60% health and you were at 10% health.
Before going to a fight, always have a planned escape, this can give you a chance to re-engage the enemy in the jungle where you can use jungle camps to heal.
Remember to ward and use actives to your advantage. If you choose to get actives for defense use them defenseivley and offensively.
As a last resort use Bakasura's Ult right under you to try getting out as it will offer a slow and cripple. I highly advise against this but it works.
Bakasura can ult before attacking a tower and minions will take the damage while allowing you to do the same damage as if lane minions where present.
Bakasura is an overall decent God with good kill potential. There are many other Gods that can suit better in specific lanes over Bakasura but nonetheless the worst thing you can do against a Bakasura is underestimate his damage. If facing Bakasura consider getting Sprint or Beads to escape his cripple. If playing Bakasura target enemies with no escapes.
Also due to your true damage consider attacking the tanks as with a proper build you can shred them. With this guide I hope you learned a little bit about Bakasura. Now that you know a little bit more about Bakasura, get back to smiting and consider using some of these tips or builds.
