Best New Landing Spots in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3!

With the new Fortnite Season having just been released, the island has seen some drastic changes. Most notably is the new edition of the Reality Forest Biome, with tons of new drop spots, rotation methods, and loot. Today we are going to be going over the best new drop spots to practice so that you can improve and get that sweet Victory Royale in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3!

With the amount of loot at the newly added POI’s Rave Cave and Reality Tree, you might think that these would be insanely landing spots this season. If you are confident with your fighting and have the right team behind you, there is legitimately no better loot anywhere on the map than these locations. However, if you’re playing solo or maybe aren’t the best fighter off spawn, these new hot drops will surely lead to a quick demise. Don’t sweat it though because we are about to break down and reveal the Top Three underrated new landing spots this season!

Fungi Farm

Located just outside Greasy Grove, the seemingly forgotten Fungi Farm is a brand mini-POI with a lot of potential!

With at least six to seven chests in buildings with more scattered around close by, there is plenty of loot for both solos and team-based game modes. When landing it is probably wise to land up on the hill first, as it provides a great vantage point of the entire farm. In testing across ten different matches, only once did someone else land at the location with me.

There are chests located up on the large new mushrooms which allow for you to land on one if contested and quickly grab quick damage on enemies flying in. If multiple people are flying in with you, landing at one of the buildings and holding a right-hand peak angle should keep you safe. There is a good amount of floor loot spawns so remember to run for a gun rather than risk getting a sniper rifle from a chest. Within the center of the buildings, there are a few of the new shield mushrooms in a fenced-off enclosure. Jumping on these new mushrooms will give you a small amount of shield up to the first two times you jump on them. While not the same as a slurp truck, they will help you save a mini-shield or two for future fights. With the Farm’s location so close to the ocean, you can also fish for more meds or even have a chance to fish out a heavy sniper rifle!

When ready to rotate from the Farm there are a multitude of ways to do so. Using the boars located around the farm, you can mount them and use the new riding mechanic to cross the distance quickly. Or use the new Geysers which act as launch pads shooting you up into the air ready to glide. You could also opt to use a boat to rotate along the beach or ziplines to move around the outskirts of Greasy Grove. If you are looking to fight now that you are looted, going towards Greasy could allow you to clean up unsuspecting enemies that may now think the town is safe to loot freely. Especially in team-based modes, sticking together while entering the town will allow you to catch a player off guard and grab a quick knockdown before the enemies even know there’s a fight occurring. In Arena or tournaments, it would be smart to rotate west to continue to farm brick as wood is one of the only readily available resources at the location and potential look to pick up metal at Displaced Depot. In total, this is one of my favorite new landing spots this season and it will be my go-to spot for Arena.

Loot Lake

Located in the smack middle of the map just north of Tilted Towers is the reimagined and “Vibin” themed Loot Lake.

With tons of loot dispersed across the lake, it gives you a lot of flexibility to adapt on the fly in. If one side of the lake is heavily contested, going to the other side will still allow you great looting opportunities. With enough chests to split across a team or a solid loadout for a solo player, Loot Lake’s potential cannot be understated.

Learning to land on a high point is crucial with this POI as you can snag a lot of damage on unsuspecting enemies from across the lake with any Assault Rifle or the new Designated Marksman Rifle. I highly recommend landing with your team on either the north or east of the lake, as it provides the most loot and angles to engage across the POI.

A reboot van is located on the East side of the lake as well so that you can quickly revive any teammates lost in the initial fray. If you are flying solo, landing on any side is viable, especially when you consider how many coolers are available for acquiring some quick shields. While materials may be hard to come by at first, quickly farming any of the waterside rock formations will surely net you enough brick to fight. Once well equipped, you can look to a third party and ongoing fight across the lake or start slowly patrolling the perimeter to pick up some damage to start a fight.

Although tempting, avoid using the permanent launch pads in the open to fly directly at your looting enemies, especially with aim assistance being fixed in this patch. If they are preoccupied with another fight, or you think you can sneakily grab a surrounding high point away from them then it may be worth the risk. You could use the ziplines instead, but I would personally build a bridge with materials to allow for a bit of a safer means to cross. The Lake is also quite literally swimming with fishing holes, surprisingly too since the reminiscence of the collider can be seen glowing beneath the water. This should allow you to have a quick fishing competition with your team or more importantly gather any additional healing items you may need after fighting for control of the POI.

When ready to rotate from the POI you can use a boat to transverse any of the rivers heading North, East, and West, or look to rotate on foot towards Tilted Towers depending on where the zone pulls. A nifty trick I have found is if you do choose to rotate North-East, using the permanent launch pad located at the North of the lake will allow you to get up and over the height of the hill. Combine this with sliding once you hit the ground and you can almost make it to the intersection right outside of Coney Crossroads.

If playing in Arena or Tournaments look to rotate up towards Behemoth Bridge or Drill Hill to max out on metal materials while farming wood along the way. Even if the zone does pull the other way, having these materials maxed early will help to set up your safe base building later into the match. Overall Loot Lake can be a great early game landing spot allowing you to both rotate and loot, while potentially snagging some free eliminations on overly launch-pad-enthusiastic enemies.

Logjam Lotus

The last newly revamped POI to round out our list is Logjam Lotus, which once was purely a logging station but with the power Reality Tree now has a major twist.

The reimagined POI has become a throwback to some of Fortnite’s most beloved and missed POIs, such as Coral Castle, Lazy Lagoon, and more! The best part of this POI is that which tile set is selected is random for each match, from navigating a seaside town shipyard, to running under colosseum archways, there’s more to love, loot, and fight over.

From what I have gathered about the new location is that for each tile set there is almost always a tower or elevated building which spawns floor loot and at least a chest or two. Landing here to provide overwatch while your team loots a nearby building (or boat wreckage) can be useful in calling out enemies and surprising your enemies. From my initial assessment, there is a minimum of at least twenty chests, a respawn van, and plenty of brick/wood materials to gather for fighting.

When playing in a team throwing each other shields or meds will be important given how separated some of the tilesets buildings are from one another and gathering materials to make cover when moving is a must. While I would love to know how to tell you every chest location and secret fight technique for this new POI, I can’t because I am still not even close to understanding its full potential yet. What I do know is that it is an absolute blast to fight at and learning each different POI will be crucial to mastering this drop spot.

When rotating from Logjam Lotus, there are many options to do so. Hiking back into the Northern mountains by the Seven Outpost will give you access to rifts for long-distance rotations while moving East by riding boars can also allow you to travel towards Shifty Shafts quickly. My personal favorite is utilizing the newly reintroduced Slipstreams surrounding Rave Cave to move quickly towards the middle of the map.

Starting the New Season Off Right

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is now finally upon us! With Arena ranks having just reset, finding out where you and your team will be dropping this season is crucial to both climbing the ranks and enjoying the new update. Whether playing solo or as a team, understanding and learning the POI you choose to land at will help you learn to loot faster and be ready to fight quicker if contested. While the drop spots we covered today can work for any situation, here are my recommendations for how to use them effectively.

If landing Solo or Duos, I highly recommend trying out Fungi Farm for its insanely secretive loot potential and new boar rotations. For competitive and tournament play I recommend making a statement by securing half or all of Loot Lake and shooting enemies caught out in the open. And lastly, for some good old throwback chaos and fun, I recommend landing Logjam Lotus for its ever-changing potential with lots of loot.

Remember both Logjam and Lake have reboot vans for reviving, so don’t be afraid to practice your early game fighting ability with your team! Have fun out there and I will catch y’all “Vibin” on the island!
