Do you want to know how to call certain spots in VALORANT? Here are all your callouts!
VALORANT finally hit the shelves after two weeks of close beta pause. Everyone now has access to the game and is eager to start playing! Before you head out into your first ranked games, make sure that you study the callouts of the maps so you can communicate with your team. Let's get started!
VALORANT currently has four maps: SPLIT, HAVEN, ASCENT and BIND. Some maps have two sites while others have three. We see a general naming strategy such as "Lobby", "Mid" and "Long" return across several maps, taking some inspiration from CSGO naming conventions. The more detailed map calls take a bit of getting used to, so let's get started!
SPLIT has two sites closely located to the defender spawn. Towards the attacker side we see three choke points around A lobby, Mid and B Lobby. When the attackers get past this point, a series of paths lead them to the actual bombsites.
Update: SPLIT was removed from the map pool in June 2022 in Episode 5, Act 1.
Unlike the previous map, HAVEN has three sites called A, B and C. Each site has two to three entry points, forcing the defenders to either play deep on site or push up closer to hold A lobby, Mid Courtyard or C Long.
The third map, BIND, has only two sites to defend. In this case, each site only has two entry points, making it easier for defenders to hold the entrance to each site. This map has a unique teleporter to bring you from A site to B site but be careful because the teleport is loud and opponents will know where you are!
ASCENT was not available during the closed beta and only made an appearance after the full game launched in June. Just like SPLIT and BIND, it only has two bomb spots. Each bomb only has two main entry points and are very close to the defender spawn, making this map more favorable to the defending side. On a high level, this map shares a similar layout as BIND.
The fifth map, ICEBOX, was released in October 2020. The map features two bombspots, both accessible through one single chokehold from the side or a second entrance through the middle of the map.
BREEZE was released in April 2021. Both bombsites have multiple entry points, making this one a tough challenge for the defending side.
The latest map, PEARL, was released in June 2022 in Episode 5, Act 1. The callouts can be seen in the image above. Although there are only two bomb sites, they are both accessible from multiple directions.
