Bronze Guide to Bronze
A guide about what really happens in the Bronze Ranked League
A guide about what really happens in the Bronze Ranked League
What is Bronze?
Bronze is the lowest division in the current "Ranked" system for League of Legends and just like all the other divisions there is Bronze 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with Bronze 5 being the most notorious for terrible plays, terrible people and all around terrible play. I personally have been to every stage of Bronze and I'm here to give everyone out there a first hand account of what happens in the various divisions of Bronze and if it is really as bad is it may sound.
BRONZE STEREOTYPES
Picks and Bans
One major question those people scared to get placed into Bronze ask is whether or not Blitzcrank, Amumu and Malphite are 100% Ban, this is definitely not true and many first pick players ban very safely like Kha'zix, Kassadin and other strong picks at the time. Not everyone is scared of Blitzcrank, Amumu and Malphite and to be honest they are rarely played even when left unbanned. But as the same with all Bronze and even other Ranked matches, you will have that one game where people will ban Blitz and the other "Bronze Bans" but this is a lot less prominent than other players outside of bronze may believe or have been led to believe from Youtube.
THE PLAYS!!!
Supports
Contrary to popular belief all Blitzcranks and Threshs will not miss their hooks 100% of the time. I play AD Carry in ranked when my main role of mid is taken and I have personally seen games carried by my hook shooting support or games lost because I have been caught out by a stray hook from the brush. Never have I seen a Thresh or Blitzcrank simply never hit a hook, though personally it's happened where it seemed like I hit a single hook all game but even though somthing like that happens you can always depend on them landing the crucial hook or helping in another way. To summarize the support hook dilemma even if your Blitz lands one hook all game it still is better than missing all of them, so if they are having a hard time don't get angry just wait and one time soon they will land the crucial hook that wins you the game.
Another popular idea is that at this low of a league you can't carry as a support and personally I have believed this at one point in my League of Legends Career. But this is 100% not true, sure it may be a bit harder because most supports do little damage and you feel like you can't do anything you have to remember your job is to keep your ADC alive and getting them kills, so if you feel like you are worthless but your ADC carries it is usually the support keeping them alive and farming in the laning phase allowing them to propel into the late game. So next time you feel that you can't do anything as a support just take a look at your ADC's Score and if they have died less than the lane opponent then your job is being done.
GGWP
This is a problem in many different ranks many people will call GG after giving up first blood or botlane gives the enemy Vayne a double kill when in fact it is not actually GG, I recently had one of these players in a ranked game of mine. I was playing midlane Orianna and my friend was Thresh in the bottom lane. Our top lane Tryndamere called GG after giving first and second blood with the help of our jungler to a toplane Master Yi. He then called GG, not taking a look at the quick kill his bot lane got and the CS lead I had in the midlane. Though Master Yi kept getting the resets on Tryndamere, his lack of CC allowed us to get picks onto Yi get myself and our ADC some kills and then snowball the game with our Thresh landing a crucial hook onto Yi in the final team fight to secure us the win. So even if one person gets first blood or even if he or she gets super fed it's not the end of the game, you have to wait for the nexus to fall to call GGWP.
Conclusion
To conclude this article Bronze isn't as bad as you may think, the players aren't that bad. But you will get those games where someone gives up first blood and calls GG, Thresh will miss hooks and picks and bans will be less than optimal, but these games shouldn't stop you from playing ranked and remember Bronze really isn't that bad.
