Champions that Never Die: Tilt Your Enemies with Immortality

While there’s no such thing as a truly “immortal” Champion in League, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some Champions that get pretty close, especially when they rack up those kills. Read on to find out which Champions fit the bill!

While many players prefer the “go hard or go home” playstyle — ahem, looking at you, 0/10 assassin mains — there is one playstyle that, in my own opinion, triumphs above all others: Becoming an unkillable battle boss.

Yep, I’m talking about Champions with high sustain, impenetrable resistances, and the most tilt-inducing knack for escaping death’s clutch every single fight. These Champions do take some time to get to their true, battle boss form, but the payoff (and the look on your enemies’ faces) is worth the wait. And when mastered? They can truly help you climb.

5. Nasus

Kicking off our list, or I should say bonkin,’ is Nasus, aka Susan. For those who have played against Nasus, you know exactly why he’s here: He absolutely thrives in 1vs5 battles. When he has enough stacks under his fluff, he deals a terrifying amount of damage that very few Champions can match in the late game. He’s also exceptionally tanky, particularly when he’s in his ultimate “god” mode, and can effortlessly chase down low-health targets with his CC slow.

Nasus is particularly ideal in low elo, where players rarely respect his late game potential and don’t punish him enough in the early game. He’s also easy to pick up and has a low-risk playstyle since his win condition is reliant on farming rather than securing kills. That said, just be mindful that the current meta does prioritize those shorter game times, and late game Champions like Nasus have taken a hit as a result.

4. Kayle

I mean, a guide about immortality wouldn’t be complete without a mention of soul-destroying powerhouse Kayle. Aside from having a literal point-and-click invulnerability built into her kit — and yes, she can use it to save her overextended ADC too! — she’s practically an unstoppable 1v5in’ death machine if she manages to hold out during lane.

This is primarily thanks to her “Divine Ascent” passive, which progressively empowers her attacks (and practically every other part of her kit, for that matter) as she levels up. Once she hits her final form, she can decimate objectives, minion waves, and enemies in seconds, all while effortlessly negating counter attacks with her high mobility and generous attack range.

Her E’s active attack also deals bonus damage proportional to her target’s missing health, meaning she can shred through even the tankiest enemies’ resistances like butter.

Despite being generally regarded as a late game Champion, Kayle is actually performing extremely well in the current meta — a change that is likely due to gameplay adjustments like earlier Homeguards, the Swifties buff, and the introduction of Blood Roses. In layman’s terms: She can reach her power spikes quicker and can’t be as easily punished for her weak early game.

However, be mindful that there’s no guarantee Kayle will remain S tier over the next few patches (hence why I’m relegating her to the 4th spot).

3. Shaco

Okay. This is a controversial take, but I have to give credit where credit’s due, especially if you’re looking to tilt your enemies.

Shaco doesn’t exactly have high sustain, nor does he have godly healing or a nifty point-and-click invincibility. However, what he does have is some of the best (and most tilt-inducing) survival tools in the game. When his kit is mastered — and ahem, you manage to play around those pink wards and sweepers — he truly feels immortal.

He can torture his enemies’ hearts (and K/D/A) with well-placed jack-in-the-box traps, weave in and out of danger effortlessly with his stealth, and send his opponents on a mindless chasing spree with his decoy. His decoy in particular allows him to escape even the diciest of situations with ease, and, more often than not, turn them in his favor.

Shaco truly transforms the Rift into his own sadistic play zone. And as any ADC main will tell you, he’s by far one of the most infuriating Champions to play against. After all, his immortality is a testament of his skill: The more he outplays you, the more immortal he becomes.

As an added perk, Shaco is also excellent at pulling off those early cheese ganks, especially in low elo where players forget to establish vision control. However, just be mindful that he is one of those Champions you have to OTP, and his potential in high elo falls off since players know how to punish him better.

2. Trundle

Trundle isn’t just the king of the trolls; he can absolutely dominate the Rift too! The main reason for this is thanks to his unrivaled sustain. From his healing passive to his W AoE healing, practically every ability in his kit turns him into an unkillable force.

Even his ultimate, “Subjugate,” allows him to steal the life force and resistances of an enemy target over some time. This mechanic also makes Trundle particularly skilled at drawn-out duels and split pushing, since he becomes stronger the longer a fight goes on.

Trundle’s damage output is nothing to scoff at either. He can land hard-hitting attacks from the get-go — making him a great pick in the current meta — and he has plenty of buffs at his disposal to give him that kill-securing edge in skirmishes.

Better yet, Trundle has a reliable source of long-ranged CC with his E ability. He can use his CC to strategically set up engages, pull off ganks, or disrupt his enemy’s movements, all of which is sure to help him achieve that tilt-inducing immortal status.

If you do pick up the troll king, be sure to use his W wisely though — misusing this ability can leave him vulnerable against ranged attacks.

1. Aatrox

Before his rework, Aatrox was in a pretty sorry spot. But now? He’s quickly lived up to his Darkin Blade namesake and has earned the title of being one of the hardest Champions to kill in the game. His kit is absolutely overloaded with heals, buffs, and practically everything else he could possibly need to survive fight after fight.

His passive powers his basic attacks so that they periodically heal him, and his E also grants him healing whenever he lands damage against enemy Champions. To top it off, his aptly-named “World Ender” ultimate grants him increased self-healing from all sources, basically transforming him into an unkillable demon king (move over, Faker). Its effect is also extended with every takedown, which gives him plenty of opportunities to dominate in 1vs5 fights.

Aatrox particularly thrives in the early game. When played right, he can effortlessly bully out most lane opponents and snowball his way to the victory screen (and probably without losing a tick of health). He’s also incredibly mobile thanks to his E dash, which allows him to evade hard-hitting attacks, initiate engages, and control the tempo in teamfights.

Aatrox’s early game dominance, combined with his unkillable-tier sustain and high mobility, makes him one of the best choices in the current Noxus meta. However, be warned: His mechanics are tricky to master and aren’t for the faint-hearted!

Legends Never Die (Literally)

While there’s no such thing as a truly “immortal” Champion in League, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some Champions that get pretty close, especially when they rack up those kills and farm.

Picking up one of the Champions above will allow you to feel like a god at heart and tilt your enemies into oblivion, provided you’re willing to put the time, effort, and energy into mastering them.
