With every new Fortnite season comes tons of new strategies and a brand-new meta. This article will provide you with the tools needed to master Chapter 3 Season 3.
The new Chapter 3 Season 3 Fortnite season was successfully launched and has brought some game-breaking changes. The new features, strategies, and additions can be a lot to take in at once. This article will feature all the up-to-date strategies that you need to earn yourself Chapter 3 Season 3’s Victory Royale Glider.
To start it off, let’s talk about the first changes you will see when loading into a game. The map has undergone some drastic changes. The whole left side of the map has been completely regrown into a purple, psychedelic mushroom infested environment.
So far, in the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 3 we have seen some massive shifts on the map with the removal of some of our favorite POIs and the additions of new ones. This is just the beginning; I can only imagine the exciting changes Epic has planned for us in the future.
Rave Cave is a new POI that has replaced Command Cavern, it can be found to the West of Loot Lake.
Rave Cave will be known as the hotdrop of this season. Don’t be shocked with the large number of players landing here. This drop is a high risk, high reward location.
Rave Cave has 61 Chest Spawns, 2 Supply Drops, 183 Floor Spawns, 51 Ammo Boxes, 2 Slurp Trucks, 102 Slurp Barrels, and 14 Safe Spawns. Rave Cave is absolutely stacked in terms of loot, seriously, try saying that first sentence again three times fast.
Surrounding Rave Cave is a Baller Coaster and Wind Tunnels. These provide the POI and nearby drops with some natural rotations for the tough zones that pull to Narnia. To use the Baller Coaster, you need to find yourself a Baller. These can be found on the East side of the mountain.
Two Ballers will spawn; drive them over to the track to start speeding around Rave Cave. However, Ballers now have a battery life, when they run out of battery there is no way to refuel them. So, use the battery wisely!
With every new addition to the map comes some losses. Sadly, for those who had found a home at the Collider and the Fortress, you will have to relocate. Don’t worry though, the Fortress drill is still there, it is just going underground! The Collider also has met a similar fate as the Fortress.
Where The Collider was once a monumental POI in terms of loot and rotations, we now have three colorful buildings, called The Glow. Each of the buildings provide a good amount of loot for a Solo or a Duo, with some launchpads naturally placed and a Slurptruck nearby. Who knows, maybe in the future The Glow will have a glow up.
Don’t worry, our precious Greasy Grove is still perfectly healthy… Well except for a little mushroom infestation. A mushroom appears to have grown right under Tacos, but I’m sure their business is still booming.
I mean, Tacos and mushrooms can’t be that bad right?
With a name like Reality Tree, you can already guess this POI is going to be mind-blowing. Bringing to the table an explosion of new colors and massive size, Reality Tree is a promising new POI, filled with unique features and captivating designs.
Reality Tree is composed of three sections. The first is the log cabin out front, this holds 6 chests and is a good starting point before diving in.
The second and largest section is the massive, colorful Reality Tree itself. This tree has 9 chest spawns and a walkway to run up. When you reach the top of the tree, you can jump on slightly bigger slurp mushrooms. These slurp mushrooms will provide you with 15 shields and propel you into the air, giving you anti-gravity, which neglects fall-damage. The shield effect can be stacked, but has a cooldown of 20 seconds, while the anti-gravity jump-boost has no cooldown. The slurp mushroom will bounce you directly into an updraft that surrounds the top of the tree. This gives you glider redeploy and lets you fly all the way to Tilted Towers!
The final section of the Reality Tree is the waterfalls you can see in the background. On top of the waterfalls there are two more log cabins, one to the left and one to the right. Behind the Reality Tree there’s a mini pond that has a geyser in the middle that lets you fly around. Through the waterfalls is a complex cave system that has chest and floor spawns. This cave system leads you into the utmost West side of the map where you can find more chest and floor spawns. You can find a line of geysers that will launch you into the air, these geysers can be used to get to the Reality Tree which will then launch you even further!
While the map changes are refreshing, the biggest changes each season are how the items and weapons affect the meta. Chapter 3 Season 3 has completely rocked the new meta, with the removal of Launchpads, Drum Shotgun, Thermal AR, Thermal Flopper, LMG, MK-7, and IO Chests. But that’s enough about everything we lost, let’s talk about what is still in the game and what new items have been given to us.
Returning to Chapter 3 Season 3:
Yes, the returning items are exciting, especially the Shockwave Grenades, Rift-to-Gos and the removal of Launchpads. If you’re a competitive player, expect a complete shockwave that will leave a rift in your understanding of the rotation meta!
Now, let's vibe over to the new weapons added:
Below are the stats for each weapon, make sure to learn them so you know what your limits are with each weapon. This way, you can know the exact numerical values of the strengths of each new weapon.
The Reality Tree is impacting the rest of the maps, it has been teased by Epic that the effects at Greasy Grove might start spreading to other places on the map. Hopefully everyone likes mushrooms! Because I think they are about to become our world.
The impacts of the Reality Tree are already starting to be felt around the rest of the game! Reality Seeds are spreading throughout the map, and you can use these seeds to your own advantage to guarantee you some crazy loot!
You can find the Reality Seeds on the root of the Reality Tree. Breaking a reality seed pod will launch the seeds into the sky. Later in the game, they will drop down and land somewhere on the map, just run over to them and pick up your seeds.
To plant a Reality Seed, just throw the seed onto the ground and a Reality Sapling will grow. You won’t see the effects of the Reality Sapling until the following match. Upon returning to the Reality Sapling, you’ll be able to harvest the sapling which will give you some sort of weapon. Leaving the sapling to grow longer yields better weapons, this is an easy way to get an edge on your opponents. Leaving the Saplings long enough will even give you a free exotic!
Shockwave + Sliding: You can get a ridiculous speed buff by combining the Shockwave with the Sliding mechanic. This is a simple trick to do and can bring you as far as 300M. Simply throw a shockwave at your feet and launch yourself into the air. When landing, immediately start a slide and cancel it by jumping. You can do this for the first three jumps but on the fourth attempt just slide to maximize your distance.
Wildlife Ride: You can mount and ride around the map by jumping onto the back of a Wolf or Boar. When riding, you can shoot, edit, and build. So, charge into battle utilizing your new ride! Don’t worry about fall damage, the Wolf/Boar will tank any fall damage, leaving you unscathed.
Storm Sickness: A new addition to the game is Storm Sickness, this seems to be added to counter the “Qrei Strat.” If you stay in the Storm for 7 minutes or longer, you’ll start losing exponential amounts of health.
You’ve made it all the way down here! Congratulations, now it is time for you to load into your own game and drop out of the battle bus, ready to apply the strategies learned here. Don’t forget to have fun and vibe out this season!
