Practice maps have been gaining steam as more and more players have been looking for tools to warm up with and get better at certain mechanics and in-game scenarios. The ability to make maps with Fortnite’s in-game assets allows players to practice more accurately without using third-party aim trainers or drills. Since Fortnite is such a unique game with its building mechanics, these maps will help transfer the skills and routines players are trying to get better at more accurately to real matches.
The Pit – Free For All By Geerzy: 4590-4493-7113
The first map we are going to look at is The Pit- Free For All. To start things off, players spawn in the designated hub area, which allows them to select from a variety of weapons and craft a custom loadout. There are also vending machines in the area that offer more items and weapons for the cost of some coins, granted to players at five per elimination. Once you build your preferred loadout, the rest is as easy as dropping down the pit in the center of the map and letting the chaos begin. Players are given unlimited ammo and 10,000 of each material, with builds resetting every ten minutes.
What makes this map good for practicing is the constant action being held within each match. Up to twelve players can be in a match, making high-pressure situations constant. The variety of weapons that the map offers is also great for getting adjusted to different possible loadouts. Do be aware that there are vaulted weapons offered too. If you are looking for some high-pressure build-fight scenarios to run through, this map is a great option.
Practice Zone Edit, Aim, Piece By kevzter: 5251-6106-7517
The next map on the list is Practice Zone Edit, Aim, Piece. This map has nearly everything you need to practice and brush up on your skills. There are five different zones to choose from, each with several drills that cover each area. The five zones are: the Edit Zone, Aim Zone, Build Zone, Piece Zone, and PVP Zone. All of these are incredibly detailed, with a seemingly endless amount of drills to choose from. With a maximum of five players, you can even practice these drills with your friends for group practice sessions.
The reusability of this practice map is what makes it so great. The variety of different drills and practices that you have access to makes the map feel like a third-party aim trainer. The quality and quantity of practice you get are very good. Check out this map if you are looking for an all-around great practice tool.
Edit Practice Map By tragisk: 3180-0440-9754
If editing builds is something you find yourself struggling with, look no further than Edit Practice Map. This solo map provides players with countless combinations of builds to edit. When you spawn in, you have the option to change the speed you move at as well, making it perfect for players who are new to building and editing and are just starting to try and take their gameplay to the next level.
Getting consistently good at editing is extremely important if you are looking to get consistently good at build mode. Editing is a great way to catch opponents off guard, whether you are trying to escape a sticky situation or surprise them with a shot or two behind a wall or above a ceiling. Utilizing this map to get better at editing at your own pace is a great way to sharpen these skills before trying them out in an actual match.
Crosshair Placement, Piece Control, & Aim By xerex60: 3739-6759-3380
This map, like our second map on this list, has a large variety of drills to run through. However, one drill I want to highlight is the crosshair placement portion of the map. This section highlights common areas of builds to aim at while editing to condition players to be prepared to fire their weapon after they finish their edits. What I enjoy about Crosshair Placement, Piece Control, & Aim is their simplistic format of it. You can choose to slow your character down to get the hang of the drill too.
In any shooter game, crosshair placement is essential to success at all levels of gameplay. In Fortnite, understanding good crosshair placement can be difficult due to the fast-paced nature of the game as well as building and editing. However, if you can make the adjustments and adapt, you will find success as time goes on, and this map takes a good, simple approach to mastering these skills.
Jivan’s How To Piece Control Map By jivantv: 7037-5244-5527
The final map we are going to look at is Jivan’s How To Piece Control Map. Piece control is an extremely important part of building in Fortnite. While there are many practice maps in the game that help with piece control, this one by jivantv is easily one of the best. Providing you with step-by-step sections of each portion of the map, this covers quite literally everything you need to know about piece control. There are even voiceovers to help explain further and guide you through each drill. While I could explain more about the map here, I highly recommend you take a look at it yourself, since there is so much detail and effort poured into it.
Conclusion
Creative 2.0 has given players the power to create any kind of experience within Fortnite. Practice maps are quickly becoming more and more popular in the community, creating a great environment for players to get better alongside each other.
