Whether you’re scavenging for survival or gearing up for a showdown, these features will play a huge role in how you approach the game.

Sprites are cute and whimsical creatures that roam around the Island. But, They’re not just for show; these sprites have a lot of neat uses that can help you win matches. Currently, there are three sprites in Fortnite that you will find roaming around the map.
Wind Sprites are little creatures that you will find all around the map. They look like cute little clouds.
You can pick them up and offer them to a Sprite Tower to get the Win Wind Boon or throw them down to generate a powerful updraft vortex. This updraft launches players up and allows them to redeploy their glider. Basically, it's acting like a launchpad.
You can either carry them with you and use them whenever you need mobility or use them instantly to rotate. Generally, you should carry them with you if you don’t have any other mobility items.
Similar to Wind Sprites, Water Sprites are small creatures that roam around the map. They are quite abundant, so finding one isn’t that hard. You can pick them and throw them to create a small fountain that regenerates the health and shields of players in its radius.
Alternatively, you can take them to a Sprite tower to get the Water Boon. Generally, you should carry Water Sprites with you to use as healables.
Earth Sprites are also creatures that you will find at various places around the map. However, they are not as common as Wind and Water Sprites.
Earth Sprites consume items you feed them and reward you with valuable resources. Got spare loot you don’t need? Give it to an Earth Sprite and see what you get in return. This adds a layer of fun and risk to inventory management, as the rewards can make or break your loadout.
But Sprites are more than tools—they tie directly into the map’s lore. Hidden Sprite Shrines across the island allow you to revitalize these creatures and gain access to Boons, which are powerful perks that can last the entire match.
Boons are this season’s answer to Reality Augments, but with a unique elemental twist. These perks, earned by revitalizing Sprites at their shrines, grant buffs that can completely change how you play a match.
The Wind Boon increases your sprinting speed when you equip your pickaxe. This makes it easier to outrun the Storm, rotate into the zone, or catch fleeing opponents. Since you are mostly running with your pickaxe out, this boon is a must if you can get it as that tiny movement buff can help you rotate faster.
You can get Wind Boon by offering Wind Sprites at Sprite Towers.
The Fire Boon speeds up your weapon reload times. Faster reloads mean you can stay in the fight longer and keep the pressure on your enemies.
This boon mainly comes in handy while reloading shotgun as shotgun reload times this season are stupidly long.
Fire Boon is dropped by bosses and mini-bosses, or you will find them in Chests.
The Water Boon regenerates health and shields for you and your nearby teammates while standing or swimming in water. So, when your team is damaged from a fight just jump into water together to wash that damage off. You can even plan your rotations from water areas so you get healed if needed.
You can get the Water Boon by offering Water Sprites at Sprite Towers
The Void Boon reveals enemy positions in the vicinity whenever you knock an opponent. It’s more useful in team-based modes like Duos and Squads. This is a great recon tool to alert you if there are any other squads around you waiting to attack.
Boons are permanent for the duration of a match, but they’re also non-transferable. You can have multiple boons on you at the same time so try to grab them all if you can.
Masks are some of the most exciting additions to Chapter 6, offering game-changing abilities that can redefine how players engage with opponents. There are two masks this season one for mobility and one for offense.
The Fire Mask fires slow-moving projectiles that deal heavy damage to enemy players. It shoots a fireball that starts out slow, but accelerates as it gets near the enemy. You can think of them as slow Rocket Launchers. It deals 100 damage on hit, so if you use them right they can be deadly.
The Void Mask lets you throw a void tear and teleport to its location. It’s like Ender Pearls from Minecraft, but you can choose when you want to teleport.
It’s perfect for dodging danger, flanking opponents, or making quick rotations. The Void Mask has become a must-item for every player. It’s honestly the best mobility item, and you should have it.
Each Mask also has a Mythic version, which increases the number of charges available. These versions are dropped by bosses like Shogun X and Night Rose, making them some of the most sought-after items in the game.
These new mechanics aren’t just gimmicks—they fundamentally change the way Fortnite is played. Sprites encourage exploration and add an extra layer of strategy, while Boons reward players who invest time in understanding the map’s layout and secrets. Masks, on the other hand, offer unparalleled versatility, allowing players to adapt to any situation with creative solutions.
