Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1: New Bosses and Medallions

Fortnite Chapter 6 brings a lot of fun content and that includes new bosses and medallions, but they are quite different compared to previous seasons.

Fortnite’s new chapter adds a Japanese twist to the Island, adding various Japanese-inspired POIs, skins, and weapons. So, it makes a lot of sense to have bosses from Japanese folklore. This time around we have two bosses and each of them drops a medallion. Medallions were introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 and have become a staple every season, granting players perks and buffs for defeating bosses.

Let’s take a deep dive into the new bosses and their medallions, breaking down where to find them, how to defeat them, and the powerful perks their medallions bring to the game.

Shogun X: The Demon Warrior

Shogun X is a legendary demon warrior who roams the island, wreaking havoc and gathering spirit energy. His dark and menacing presence makes him one of the most formidable enemies you’ll face in Chapter 6 Season 1. Clad in imposing, samurai-inspired armor, Shogun X embodies the Japanese mythology theme of this season.

He doesn’t have a particular POI, instead, you will find him roaming around somewhere on the map. His position is indicated by a samurai mask icon (hard to miss).

When you defeat him while he is roaming, he won’t drop the medallion. For that, you will have to wait till the fourth Storm Circle when the Shogun’s Arena spawns. It is a large floating island.

He will spawn on that island, and you will have to defeat him again, and then he will drop the Wanderer’s Medallion.

How to Defeat Shogun X

Similar to his roaming phase, his attacks have two phases. One where he tries to teleport to you and slash you with his katana and the other where he shoots fireballs at you. But this time there is a third attack, in which he will create circles around him from which fire will erupt.

All of these attacks can be dealt with just by moving around. It isn’t a super hard fight if you know what you are doing. However, he does have a huge health bar, and you will have to shoot a lot of bullets to deplete it.

The Wanderer Medallion

Defeating Shogun X rewards players with the Wanderer Medallion, one of the most coveted items this season. The medallion offers two powerful abilities:

  1. Infinite Stamina: Sprinting becomes limitless, allowing you to escape fights, reposition, or chase down enemies with ease.
  2. Invisibility While Sprinting: You will become invisible when you are sprinting too much. However, I wouldn’t trust it too much as if players look hard enough, they can see a silhouette of you. But, again in chaotic fights, nobody pays that much attention.

Night Rose

Night Rose is a spectral assassin tied to the dark lore of the new map. You will find her in Demon’s Dojo and Japanese-inspired POI in the snowy area of the map.

This fearsome boss is cloaked in shadow and her attacks are just as deadly as her appearance suggests.

How to Defeat Night Rose

Compared to Shogun X, the Night Rose fight is quite easy. There are two phases, one in which she rushes you with an SMG, and the other where she gets controlled by a demonic oni mask that shoots fireballs at you.

In the second phase, you have to shoot the eyes of the mask to deal damage. The boss will swap between these two phases until she is defeated.

Both of the phases can be dealt with by staying in cover. The arena where you fight has a lot of cover, so use that or build your own if you are playing Build Mode.

Now, the boss fight only starts when you step into the ring. You can step away from it once it starts.

The Night Rose Medallion

Eliminating Night Rose grants you the Night Rose Medallion, another powerful item that brings a unique advantage.

With the Night Rose Medallion, your weapons will be gradually reloaded. Meaning, the bullet count will slowly increase in all your weapons. For instance, if your shotgun had 2/4 bullets it will be 3/4 and then 4/4 slowly.

Which Medallion to Go For?

The Wanderer and Night Rose Medallions are not just collectibles — they’re tools that can define your gameplay this season. These items bring powerful perks that impact your mobility, stealth, and combat efficiency.

Getting just one of the two medallions is not easy. You have to choose which one to go for. Now, the Night Rose medallion is a bit easier to get as you can fight the boss early on and defeat her, whereas for the Wanderer Medallion, you have to wait till the fourth Storm circle, and even then, the other players are not going to let you fight the boss easily.

Wanderer Medallion is a bit better as that infinite stamina and invisibility give you a lot more mobility in the end game. You should try to get it or, better yet, let a team get it and fight them for it. On the other hand, the Night Rose Medallion isn’t bad either as it gradually puts bullets in your guns

Conclusion

Much like every Season, Medallions are handy items that can give the edge in a match. But, like every Season there are going to be tons of players fighting for it. After all, there are only two medallions and 100 players, so the competition to get it is high.
