How To Get Each Boss Vehicle In Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 3

Boss NPCs have been in Fortnite for several seasons, giving players an intense challenge to face in each game that, if successfully beaten, gives them a powerful reward. Chapter 5 Season 3 is no different with this mechanic, giving players the option to not only obtain the boss’s Mythic Weapon but their vehicle as well.

The vehicle-heavy meta that has been emphasized this most recent season in Fortnite has been nothing short of action-packed and chaotic. The ability to customize vehicles with mods to turn them from simple methods of transportation to all-out killing machines has made a huge impact on gameplay. The NPC boss vehicles are no exception to this change, with each vehicle spawning depending on where each boss is located.

What Are the Boss Vehicles?

There are currently three specialized boss vehicles in the game: the Lockjaw, the Behemoth, and the War Bus. Each of these vehicles has special features and abilities that make them even more powerful than your typical modified vehicle. Lockjaw and Behemoth have similar modifications with bonus health, unlimited nitro boost, and pre-attached modifications like the Spiked Bumper, Machine Gun Turret, Grenade Launcher, etc. The War Bus has even more modifications than the previous two, including an EMP that acts similarly to the EMP Grenade item, damaging player shields and nearby vehicles.

It is important to note that each boss has their own designated vehicle, and they do not rotate. The Machinist and Ringmaster Scarr both drive their own Lockjaw (for a total of two in each game). Megalo Don drives the Behemoth, which is unique to him. The War Bus is not driven by a boss, but rather by an entourage of Wasteland Grunts and Elites known as a War Bus Convoy.

Each Boss’s Location

Depending on the game, each boss can spawn in a different area on the map; however, all three boss vehicles will always spawn in every game. Ringmaster Scarr, for example, will always spawn in the Nitrodome. However, unlike the Machinist and Megalo Don, she does not spawn immediately. Instead, when the first player makes contact at the Nitrodome, they must survive two minutes in the area. Afterwards, Ringmaster Scarr will show herself, and the player may fight her.

The Machinist and Megalo Don spawn in a similar fashion to each other. There are two different ways to encounter these bosses. Either boss can be found in their respective spawn locations: Brutal Beachhead for Megalo Don and Redline Rig for the Machinist. The other way that you can encounter these bosses is by leading a War Bus Convoy. If the boss spawns in this way, they will be driving their unique vehicle with a convoy of Wasteland Grunts and Elites following them.

While not technically a “boss” vehicle, the War Bus is unique in how it spawns. A War Bus Convoy can be found on the main roads of the map. There is a chance that all three bosses spawn in their respective locations on the map and are not leading a convoy. If this is the case, the War Bus will be led by extra Wasteland Grunts and Elites if there is no boss present. This will require the player to go to each location on the map if they want a specific boss’s vehicle and seek out a War Bus Convoy on their own if they wish to obtain the War Bus.

Boss Medallions

Now, while each boss has their own powerful vehicle to obtain, they also have medallions like bosses in the past. Each medallion has extremely powerful effects that are granted to the player when picked up. However, like previous seasons, these medallions reveal your location on the map when equipped, so be aware that players will know if you are nearby. Each boss medallion is listed below:

The Machinist’s Medallion: Grants the player a regenerating shield buff that recovers any lost shield up to a cap of 75.

Ring Master Scarr’s Medallion: Grants the player unlimited ammo and bonus weapon damage.

Megalo Don’s Medallion: Grants the player an infinite nitro boost effect.

How To Obtain Each Boss Vehicle

Now, for the moment you have been waiting for, how exactly can you obtain each boss’s vehicle? Well, it’s quite simple. Depending on how each boss spawns, there are two ways you can get each vehicle. The first method is if the boss is leading a War Bus Convoy. All you need to do is defeat the boss and the convoy they are leading, and the vehicle is yours. Simple enough, right? This is especially useful in duos, trios, and squads since you get both the boss’s vehicle and the War Bus.

The second way you can obtain a boss vehicle is at their respective spawn location. If the vehicle you are seeking is not leading a convoy, you will have to go to the location on the map where the boss spawns and defeat them there. Unfortunately, you cannot just swoop in, take their ride, and make your escape. You need their medallion to get their vehicle, since each ride is locked away in a vault at each location. The vault can only be unlocked if you have the respective boss’s medallion!

Conclusion

You now know not only how to get each boss vehicle in Fortnite this season, but where each boss can be found, what each medallion does, and what each boss vehicle does as well. Boss vehicles are a unique spin on boss items, giving players something extra to look for besides a medallion or a weapon. These vehicles are sought after by many players since vehicles are such a powerful thing to use this season in Fortnite, so be prepared to fight not only the boss and their goons but other players too!
