Who is Kha'zix?
Kha'zix is a melee assasin which utilizes his own unique mechanic ''Isolation'' to deal extreme amounts of damage to isolated targets. Today we will look at Kha'zix's skill evolution, item build paths, lane phases and jungling.
Skills
Kha'zix's passive is Unseen Threat.
After the enemy team loses vision of Kha'zix, Kha'zix's next basic attack will deal bonus magic damage and apply a 25% slow for 2 seconds on the target. The magic damage is different depending on Kha'zix's level, 15/20/25/35/45/55/65/75/85/95/110/125/140/150/160/170/180/190. However spellshields will negate the damage and the slow from Unseen Threat. Unseen Threat is also great for applying extra damage and sticking onto targets as you try and kill them.
When Unseen Threat is off cooldown it can be used to check if there are wards nearby. This can be done by walking into a bush, if Unseen Threat is still not active then the bush must be warded, this is because the enemy team still has vision on Kha'zix. Unseen Threat applies on hit effects such as critical strikes and Muramana. Critial strikes do not change the magic damage dealt by Unseen Threat, however Muramana will be able to proc twice. Once off the auto attack and once off Unseen Threat.
Kha'zix's Q Ability is Taste Their Fear.
Taste Their Fear is a physical damage targeted ability with 325 range. Taste Their Fear costs 25 mana at all ranks and has a 3.5 second cooldown at all ranks. Passively Kha'zix marks enemies that are isolated, Enemies are isolated if they are 500 units away from another ally including minions and towers.
When evolved Taste Their fear and Kha'zix's auto attacks gain 50 bonus range. Taste Their Fear deals 70/95/120/145/170 + 120% of Kha'zix's bonus attack damage. If the target was isolated the damage is increased to (70/95/120/145/170 + 120% of Bonus attack damage) X 1.3. When Taste Their Fear has been evolved isolated damage changes to ( champion level X 10 + 70/95/120/145/170 + 260% bonus attack damage ). Taste Their fear's range is greater than Kha'zix's auto attack range however Taste Their Fear's damage can be blocked by spellshields. When enemies walk into bushes as Kha'zix is performing his Taste Their Fear animation, Taste Their Fears Damage will not be dealt and Taste Their Fear will not be placed onto cooldown. Avoid using Taste Their Fear as enemies approach bushes as Taste Their Fear stops movement and the damage could be canceled if you lose vision.
Kha'zix'sW Ability is Void Spikes
Void Spikes is a skillshot with 1000 range and has a 10 second cooldown at all ranks. Void Spikes costs 50/60/65/70/75 mana. Void Spikes also apply a 20% slow for 2 seconds on all enemies hit and if Kha'zix is in 150 range of the explosion of the Void Spikes, Kha'zix is healed for 40/70/100/130/160 health. Void Spikes deal 20% bonus damage to neutral minions. Spellshields block both the slow and damage from Void Spikes
When evolved Void Spikes are fired in a cone of 3 spikes. Kha'zix also gains vision on targets hit by Evolved Void Spikes and slows them for 50% for 2 seconds. After the changes to Kha'zix in patch 3.08, Kha'zix can no longer activate Void Spikes during leap.
Kha'zix's E Ability is Leap
Leap is a targeted jump with 600 range. Khazix deals 65/100/135/170/205 + 20% bonus attack damage when he lands.
Leap costs 50 mana at all ranks and has a 22 second cooldown at rank 1 and decreases by 2 seconds for each rank in Leap.When evolved Leap's range increases to 900 units and when Kha'zix gets a kill or assist on an enemy champion, Leap's cooldown is refreshed.
Leap is counted as movement, if Kha'zix is snared or stunned during Leap's animation, Kha'zix will travel the full distance of Leap and then will be snared or stunned. However the duration of the stun or snare will start as soon as Kha'zix is hit and not when Kha'zix Lands. This mechanic along with Mercury Treads allow Kha'zix to avoid most of the duration of stuns and snares. However if Kha'zix is knocked up, Leap's animation will be canceled and Kha'zix will stop in the place that he is knocked up in. Leap's animation time will depend on Kha'zix leap distance, The longer the leap the longer the travel time!
Kha'zix can also use summoner spells, auto attacks and Taste Their Fear while in the leap animation. Spellshields also block the damage dealth by Leap. This means that Kha'zix with Evolved Leap, Leap onto a target auto attack, proc Unseen Threat and then Taste Their Fear before the full leap animation is finished. This often can targets very quickly and score Kha'zix the reset on Leap.
Kha'zix's R Ability is Void Assault
On activation Kha'zix Stealths for 1 second and gains 40% bonus movement speed and ignores unit collision Void Assault can then be activated twice within 15 seconds before going on Void Assault's full cooldown. Void Assault has a 100 mana cost at all ranks and 100 second cooldown at rank 1, 90 second cooldown at rank 2 and 80 second cooldown at rank 3.
When evolved, Void Assault can be activated a third time within 15 seconds and the stealth duration is increased from 1 second to 2 seconds. Void Assault always resets Unseen Threat, even if the enemy team has true vision on Kha'zix.
Ravenous Hydra VS Blood Thirster
Ravenous Hydra is a great item on Kha'zix, Ravenous hydra's 75 bonus attack damage increases Kha'zix's damage significantly. Using Evolved and Isolated Taste Their Fear as an example at max rank and at level 18, Taste Their Fear with only a Ravenous Hydra will deal 350+(75 x 2.6 )=545 damage. Ravenous Hydra also allows Kha'zix to auto attack mid leap, applying Unseen Threat, then cancel the animation with Ravenous Hydra's active and then taste their fear.
This combo totals to 183+190+183+545+220=1321, 1321 damage with only Ravenous Hydra.

Blood Thirster is also a great item on Kha'zix. The 80 Bonus attack damage plays a big role in Kha'zix's damage. Using The scenerio above. Blood Thirster will deal, 188+190+558+221=1157, As we can see Ravenous Hydra outdamages Blood Thirster significantly, however Blood Thirster provides Kha'zix with a shield, while costing 200 gold more to purchase. I personally believe that Ravenous Hydra is a much better item on Kha'zix because it allow Kha'zix a lot more wave clear, damage and the shield isn't really needed.

Black Cleaver VS Youmu's Ghostblade
Black Cleaver will always be better if you are looking to poke down the enemy team, as the armor shred is much better than the 20 flat armor penetration that Youmu's Ghostblade gives. However if you are looking to pick enemies off and looking to duel enemy carries. Youmu's Ghostblade's flat armor pen will make you deal almost true damage on Isolated targets with Taste Their Fear early in the game, alongside the attack speed and critical strike chance it provides, it is extremely difficult for any champion to fight Kha'zix 1 on 1 early in the game when Kha'zix has rushed a Youmus Ghostblade.
This makes Kha'zix an amazing counter jungler, when jungling use your power to your advantage and look for opportunities to pick off free kills from the enemy jungler. In the mid and late game, Youmu's provides Kha'zix with great sticking power to enemy carries. This is why I believe Youmu's is much better than any other item on Kha'zix. As Kha'zix greatly benefits from the 20 flat armor penetration that Youmu's Ghostblade provides, The attack speed and critical strike chance alongside almost true damage Taste Their Fears make Kha'zix an extremely powerful dueliest and counter jungler, which allows Kha'zix to pick off kills from the enemy jungler and get ahead. Youmu's Ghostblades movement speed in the late game allow Kha'zix to keep killing off enemy carries and staying ahead. ''Get ahead, Stay ahead''.
