How to Uninstall VALORANT On Windows

Uninstalling VALORANT can be a tricky task for some people. Whether it is because of issues with running the game or perhaps you just need to take a break from the game, uninstalling the program will be the route most people need to take. Here we are going to break down how to uninstall VALORANT.

For whatever reason you may need to, knowing how to uninstall a program or game is necessary for many situations. VALORANT, for example, has Riot Vanguard, Riot Games’ anti-cheat software. Sometimes players have issues with this, whether it’s not getting Vanguard to activate or perhaps they do not want the program on their computer. Whatever the reason, uninstalling the program is the avenue players need to take in to resolve several issues. This article is going to go over the steps you need to take to uninstall VALORANT from your computer.

Why Uninstall VALORANT

You might be asking yourself, “Why would I ever need to uninstall the game in the first place?” Well, aside from needing space for other programs or just taking a break from the game, there are errors and other issues that some people will run into when playing the game. A common solution to resolve a lot of these problems is uninstalling VALORANT and Vanguard completely, then freshly reinstalling the programs. So, without further delay, let's go through the steps on how to uninstall VALORANT from your PC.

Locating The File On Your PC

Search Bar

To start the process of uninstalling VALORANT you are going to need to open your settings menu. You can get to this by simply typing Settings in the search bar on the bottom of the screen.

Windows Setting Menu

Next, once you have the settings menu pulled up, you are going to need to click on the Apps section. This will open a menu showing all the programs that you have installed on your PC. Alternatively, you can type Uninstall in the search bar at the top of the menu and select Add or Remove Programs to get to the same menu.

Searching for Valorant in Apps Menu

After you open this menu, you will be able to scroll through all the programs on your computer. You can either locate the game file this way or simply type VALORANT in the search bar as shown above.

Uninstalling The File

Once you have located the file, click on it, and you will be prompted to select either Modify or Uninstall. In our case, we are obviously going to select the Uninstall option. You will then be prompted to confirm that you want to uninstall the game with the message “This app and its related info will be uninstalled.” To confirm this, click the second Uninstall prompt that is given.

Uninstall Screen

Finally, it’s done! When the game is finished uninstalling, you will be met with the image above to let you know that the program has officially been removed from your PC. Now you are free to reinstall the program and follow any steps that you may need to take to resolve any errors you were having that led to you needing to uninstall the program in the first place.

Uninstalling Riot Vanguard

Uninstalling Vanguard

To uninstall Riot Vanguard, the steps are nearly identical to uninstalling Valorant itself. Since we already know where to locate files on our PC, we are going to skip ahead to locating the file within the Apps menu. Just like before, use the search bar to search for the Vanguard program.

Once you have located the Vanguard file, simply click the program and select the Uninstall option once again. After this, acknowledge the confirmation message by selecting the second Uninstall prompt. Please note that League of Legends now also uses Riot Vanguard as an anti-cheat software. Uninstalling Vanguard will interfere with the ability to play League of Legends, so if you are uninstalling Vanguard to resolve issues within VALORANT, it is recommended you reinstall it as soon as possible so that it does not interfere with playing other titles.

Conclusion

Hopefully this article was helpful in resolving any technical issues that you might be having with the game that require uninstalling the program. Or perhaps you just needed to free up some space or take a brain break from the game for a while. Whatever the case may be, you now have the tools to uninstall VALORANT and Riot Vanguard from your system!
