HyperX Cloud Stinger Pink Headset Review

We had the pleasure of reviewing the new HyperX Cloud Stinger Pink edition. If you're looking for an affordable but great gaming headset, then you should definitely read this review!

Today we will be taking a look at the HyperX Cloud Stinger headset in a stunning shade of pink. With its sleek and ergonomic design, there are plenty of features that will keep you listening longer and longer.

First Impressions

As I open up the package and slide the headset out of its box, I immediately notice how insanely light it is; weighing in at a mere 275 grams (not even a single pound), this device is lighter than my gaming mouse. The ear cups are incredibly soft and apply little to no pressure against my ears, which is a life saver for me since most headsets tend to squish my ears and cause them to hurt over time. This particular model comes in a gorgeous soft pink, which is often referred to as a “quartz pink” or even an “antique pink”, which matches my entire gaming set-up perfectly. It feels great and looks just as good, I could not have a better first impression when opening up the HyperX Cloud Stinger Pink.

Sleek and Lightweight Design

The first thing I noticed besides its bold appearance is its extremely lightweight form. With most headsets being bulky and rather heavy, I was surprised to feel just how light the Cloud Stinger Pink is. Personally, I have trouble finding headsets that sit comfortably on my head, often leaving me feeling fatigued over time as the weight causes headaches. As you play, you do not want to experience pain or discomfort from your headset, especially if you are wearing it to communicate with your friends. I would often find myself having to take headsets off due to the weight of them sitting on my head.

Luckily, the Cloud Stinger Pink headset truly does feel like a cloud and leaves you with zero discomfort. After prolonged periods of gaming, I barely notice I am wearing the headset. The ear cups are soft and rotate 90-degrees to help them fit the shape and angle of your head; this design also allows the headset to conveniently fold up to be placed onto your desk and out of the way when not in use. As lightweight as this headset is, it is still sturdy, durable, and quite flexible. This simple yet game-changing fact is only one of the Cloud Stinger’s exceptional features.

The beautiful color of the HyperX Cloud Stinger Pink is a perfect, soft tone that matches nearly all of my gaming equipment. But it looks great with other colors, too, if you do not have a line up of pink accessories, most notable being grey and white. Because they are so lightweight and affordable, it fits in great with my other gear and makes the whole set-up come together perfectly.

High Quality Sound

At the low price of $49.99 via the HyperX website, this headset still competes with higher priced models with its high quality sound. Whether you are listening to the ambience of your video game or tunes from your favorite playlist, the Cloud Stinger headset has a crisp and high-quality sound due to the 50mm drivers which are positioned parallel to your ear. This makes it feel like you are right there at the source of the sound.

The microphone also performed very well in group gaming sessions over voice communications. When using the microphone, the Cloud Stinger incorporates a noise-cancelling polar pattern, blocking out excess noises from your surroundings so your friends can focus on your voice.

Easy Set-Up and Operation

The HyperX Cloud Stinger headset easily plugs into any device and platform, allowing you to dive right into your gaming session. It comes with an extension cord to allow you to sit back from your TV or move freely around your computer desk when needed. If you are not playing with friends, you can simply slide the microphone up against the headset, using the swivel-to-mute function to lock it in place and automatically muting it. You can adjust the frame of the headset by pulling down at the sides, extending and stretching it to fit the shape of your head. It has been the easiest set-up out of any electronic accessory I have purchased and has certainly become a favorite of mine.

All in all, the HyperX Cloud Stinger exceeds expectations in terms of quality and comfort for its price range. If you’re looking for a great gaming experience with a modest budget, then this headset should be at the top of your list.
