Recently, I sat down and chatted with Cinthya "CinCinBear" Alicea. She is a Twitch streamer and YouTube video game content creator with a large following. Let's jump right into it.

Your Twitch name is “CinCinBear.” What is the origin story of the name?

CinCinBear: It originated from my instagram, which is _cincin_, and that originated from my real name which is Cinthya.

What age did you start playing games and what’s the first game you remember playing?

CinCinBear: I started playing video games at 8, I remember I got a Nintendo 64 for my first Christmas in America. I think that's how I got started, but way before then I remember playing Super Mario 64 on the N64 in Cuba.

What’s your all time favorite game?

CinCinBear: WoW :)

How long have you been streaming on Twitch and what made you decide to pursue streaming?

CinCinBear: I started streaming on June of 2014, so 2 years now. I decided to stream because I'm cocky and I saw other girls doing it and I thought I could be as popular as them. lol.

What is your favorite game to stream and which game do you think your fans enjoy seeing you play the most?

CinCinBear: My favorite game to stream depends on my mood, but I enjoy all the games I do broadcast. As for my audience, I think they enjoy CSGO the most. My main viewers though would prefer a smaller game like Stardew Valley.

What is a typical stream day like for you?

CinCinBear: Salty, Rewarding, Sassy, Raging, Weeb. LOL. Some days are better than others, whether it's a nice or salty chat, an awesome sub day or an awesome donation day. Others may not be.

What is your favorite part about streaming?

CinCinBear: Aside from the fact that I can make my hobby a full time job, the fact that I get to interact with people because I don't have any friends IRL. lol (ok, I have literally 1 friend IRL).

What do you like to do when you aren’t streaming?

CinCinBear: Watch anime, play other video games I don't get to stream, make business models, and or try to become more occupied with other things I can make a part time job/hobby.

According to your Twitch profile, you are a monthly donator to the ASPCA. What got you involved in this cause?

CinCinBear: Yes, my involvement was simple: I'm an animal lover. They are my weakness. I like animals better than people. lol.

You have a very large following on Twitch with over 217k followers. Have you ever met any of your fans in IRL? If yes, what it is like to meet them?

CinCinBear: Yes, I have met them IRL in conventions and at meets ups in my city. It's cool to meet them, nothing out of the blue for me because im a very friendly person so I never really go through the awkward stage.

Can you give any advice to anyone looking to start streaming?

CinCinBear: Aside from all the normal stuff streamers say, not really. Be yourself, have a schedule.
