Marvel Rivals Ultimate Combos to Dominate Your Team Fights

Are you combining the right ults to win your teamfights? Marvel Rivals has some crazy Ultimate Abilities that easily shift the tide of fights. Don’t worry, we’ve got some great combinations to get you started on your ranked grind.

Marvel Rivals has a lot of powerful ultimates that are obtained very quickly compared to other hero shooters. By making the right choices in your combinations, you can make the enemy team mad and force them to change up their entire team comp just to deal with your shenanigans. Usually, these combos work by having someone set up the combo with a root or stun and pair that with the ult of a character who does a lot of damage.

Groot + Namor/Moon Knight

This combo is a great choice to end fights quickly. Groot uses his ult “Strangling Prison,” which grabs enemies and pulls them towards its center, damaging and rooting them for 3.5 seconds. By pairing this with Namor’s ult (Horn of Proteus) or Moon Knight’s (Hand of Khonshu), you have a powerful combo for quickly ending your fights. Namor’s ult deals 500 damage in the inner circle, killing most characters, even if they use Strategist ults.

Moon Knight’s ult is a little less reliable, dealing 75 damage per hand with 4 hands per second, but it is still a great option that deals enough damage to go through even some Strategist ults. Alternative but less effective characters include Doctor Strange, Namor, or Jeff the Landshark instead of Groot as the initiator. Alternatives for the damage dealer in the combo are Psylocke, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Winter Soldier or Iron Man, as they all have ults that deal a lot of damage or have massive kill potential.

Doctor Strange Portal Combos

The Doctor Strange Portal combos are crazy, but we’re sure you know that. The portal is one of the most fun abilities in the game, opening up so many potential plays that you’ve probably seen all over various social media. Performing this combo is a great way to rejoin a fight if Doctor Strange and the damage dealer have just respawned, and the team fight looks bad but is still winnable.

The portal combo is also a great way to start a fight since you can position it anywhere. Ideally, you want to have Doctor Strange communicate when the portal is beginning to open and have the damage dealer cast their ult as the portal opens if their ult has a significant startup time for characters like Scarlet Witch and Iron Man. The best characters for this are Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Punisher, and Black Widow. To get the best success rate for this combo, you should try to place the portal above or behind the enemy.

Depending on what the planned ultimate is, you might also want to try convincing someone to go Rocket and place the B.R.B device down until it gives you a blue pack that allows you to launch yourself up by tapping your jump button twice, even if you’re in an ability that doesn’t usually allow jumping. In the case of the above GIF, the Scarlet Witch is launched through the portal by a blue Rocket pack.

Venom + Winter Soldier

Venom’s ultimate is excellent for surviving when you find yourself in a spot with your abilities on cooldown and as a tool to scare and bait Strategist ultimates. However, should you know that the enemy doesn’t have any, Venom’s ult is a great combo tool for ultimates with a fast startup as it knocks enemies into the air, deals 50% of their max HP, deals 50 bonus damage, and gives Venom 100% of the damage it deals as Bonus Health.

One of the strongest partners for this is Winter Soldier, whose ultimate “Kraken Impact” deals a flat 100 damage but, more importantly, applies a debuff that instantly kills anyone if they fall below 20% of their max HP and lets him use the ult “AGAIN.” Combining the two in quick succession can quickly move a fight in your favour, as managing to kill even one person hit by both ultimates allows Winter Soldier to cast the ult again, provided he does it in the next 8 seconds.

Another alternative character to use in place of Venom or Bucky is Wolverine, seeing as almost all of his kit also deals damage based on the target’s max HP and becomes lethal if he’s at around 60 Rage.

If the only person willing to cooperate with you is a Strategist, combining Venom or Wolverine with a Luna or Rocket’s Damage Boost can result in an absurdly high damage ult combo.

Double Dipping Duelist Ults

Loki’s ultimate “God of Mischief” allows him almost instantly to duplicate an enemy or ally’s ultimate ability. Given what else we’ve talked about, you can probably see that this alone will enable him to have a lot of combination potential. While usually, it’s most effective to copy another Strategist ult, such as Luna Snow’s or Mantis's, sometimes, if you know you can win a fight yourself, it will be much better if you can copy a Duelist ult and use it at the same time as them.

Some great choices of Duelists to copy are Moon Knight, Punisher, Storm, Hela and Star-Lord. If you and the Duelist you copy or at least work with are targeting the same person, and they aren’t a tank, then you should be able to kill them regardless of how much attention they get. One Storm ultimate alone is 150 damage per second, making two of them a whopping 300 damage per second, outhealing even Luna Snow’s ultimate since it only heals 250 per second.

Ending Note

Marvel Rivals is a spectacular game that allows for a lot of creativity with all kinds of abilities. Hopefully, you can get out there and win your team fights by using the combos we’ve given you here (or at least taking note of what allows them to work and making your own). You’d be surprised how much freedom the game provides through the destructible environment, the physics of Doctor Strange’s Portal, and the abilities unlocked through Team-Ups. Good luck in your competitive games; hopefully, these combos will help you get far and have some satisfying moments with your teammates.
