New Changes and Additions in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4

One of the most exciting things about Fortnite is when a new Season rolls around, and with it comes a fresh feel to the game. Fortnite Chapter 4: Season 4 has brought all sorts of new items, locations, and augments to the player’s experience. Here in this article, we are going to touch on all the basics of what’s new in the newest Season of Fortnite.

The newest Season of Fortnite is here and with it brings a ton of new weapons, returning weapons, locations, in-game objectives, and even Augments. On top of that, pulling off heists in some of the new locations provides players with all sorts of loot including powerful Mythic weapons to give you a leg up in-game. Let’s look at what’s new in Fortnite Chapter 4: Season 4.

New Locations and Heists

Just like any other new Season of Fortnite, Chapter 4: Season 4 has brought new locations to the game: Sanguine Suites (top right), Relentless Retreat (bottom left), and Eclipse Estate (top left). In all three of these newly named locations and in MEGA City, Slappy Shores, and Rumble Ruins, you can perform heists, and if successful you will reap some very powerful rewards. Heists can be pulled off by making your way through the main building in each of the areas. This is distinguished by the vault icon on top of each of the locations in-game on your map. Descending inside each building and bypassing the security systems that include laser sensors, security cameras, turrets, and plenty of other precautions that are put in place to stop players from stealing the loot each vault holds!

Pulling off a heist is a dangerous job, make sure you are shooting any cameras that spot you, taking care of the guards, and defeating the main boss in each area. Defeating the main boss causes them to drop their Mythic Weapon and their key card. This key card is used to get into the main vault of the location. Accessing the main vault, the player is presented with several chests, loot, and the option of a Mythic weapon to choose from. Choose carefully though, because once you steal the Mythic Weapon that catches your eye, the others are destroyed and the alarms are sounded, alerting guards causing them to head your way.

Forecast Towers

In addition to the newly named locations, there are Forecast Towers that have been added to the map. These Towers are guarded by NPC enemies, and defeating the Main Boss of these towers causes them to drop their key. Using this key allows the player to gain access to where the storm is heading. Giving them a leg up throughout the course of the game. There are three of these towers and they are located west of Brutal Bastion, north of Frenzy Fields, and south of Slappy Shores. Keep an eye out for the satellite icon on your map if you find yourself in any of these areas, and make sure to be wary of the guards!

Weapons and Gear

Like any other Season, new and unvaulted weapons and gear have been brought into the game (excluding the new and returning Mythic weapons obtained through heists). These additions always shake things up and add new elements to the game in addition to all the map changes. Before we get into the weapons, it’s important to know what the new Heist Bag is. This new container is like a Chest, the only difference is that it is guaranteed to have some form of heist-related loot. So, keep an eye out for these if you are performing a heist and need a weapon or utility in a pinch! Below are lists of the weapons and items that have been added to the game.

What’s New

The Rocket Ram is a new item that when fired launches the player holding it, destroying walls and structures in its path and upon impact. The Infiltrator Pump Shotgun, Twin Mag Assault Rifle, and Scoped Burst SMG are all new additions as well and can find a home in any load out. The Business Turret is a deployable turret that when thrown, can assist players by firing at enemies, making it great for when you want an advantage in gunfights. As of writing this article two new weapons have also been added: the Shield Breaker EMP and the Sticky Grenade Launcher. The Shield Breaker EMP is a grenade that when thrown deals only shield damage to the player caught in the blast. Finally, the Sticky Grenade Launcher is exactly what the name implies, a powerful Grenade Launcher that shoots Grenades that stick to any surface they land on.

Unvaulted Weapons

There are three weapons that have been unvaulted with the new season’s Release. The Suppressed Sniper Rifle fits in with the heist theme of the new season. The Suppressed Pistol has been reworked to be fully automatic, making it easier to track enemies while you fire. Finally, no heist would be good without the Remote Explosive, which is always a great option for when you need to breach a building or break down a build battle.

New Augments

In addition to the new weapons, new Augments have been added to the game this season. These new augments are all very powerful so keep an eye out for any of the following:

On The Go Bag

ANY container you open will have an item that would be in a heist bag.

Sniper Striker

Snipers give Siphon upon damaging enemies.

Ammo Drop

Not only grants ammo, but also makes it so that enemies drop more ammo than usual.

First Shotgun

Shotguns will deal increased damage on the first shot.

Pistol Salvo

Your Pistols will have a reduced fire rate but increased damage.

Fast Fisher

Swim faster and instantly loot fishing spots when you swim through them.

Survivor Medals

This season also introduced Survivor Medals to the game. This new feature requires you to survive for a certain amount of time whilst also getting a certain amount of eliminations. The medal rarities start at Common and progress all the way to Mythic! Earning a medal will then unlock the next quest in line to progress to the next. Each rarity has ten stages to complete before moving on to the next. Finishing a Medal unlocks that rarities Prized Llama Back Bling for the player to show off!
