Jose "BromaS" Ramos, DPS player for the Team Dignitas Overwatch team was one of many players to have been invited to the Overwatch tournament of the year, the Overwatch World Cup at BlizzCon 2016. Playing for Team Spain, BromaS played phenominally and played a vital role in Team Spain's results up until the team was defeated at the hands of his teammate LiNkzr on Team Finland. After the event ended, Novalas caught up with BromaS to talk about his experiences at his first ever BlizzCon and how it felt to play against teammate LiNkzr.

Hey YouTube and Team Dignitas fans. I'm here at BlizzCon 2016 with BromaS, DPS player for the Team Dignitas Overwatch team. You've been here for awhile now, since the 26th I believe, so talk to me; how has the California experience been?

BromaS: We came here before this for e-league. We were bootcamping at the Team Dignitas team house. It was a pretty awesome experience. The weather is crazy good and... there's a lot of people who actually speak Spanish so it's kind of fun for me. I really love this. I want to live here, actually!

Talk to me about BlizzCon itself. How did you enjoy the event?

BromaS: It was awesome! I wasn't expecting this, honestly. I was expecting to just have some fun with friends, right? But the World cup was awesome. The event, in general, was pretty crazy!

This is your first BlizzCon, correct?

BromaS: Yeah! It is!

There was that big announcement... It's been getting leaked for awhile now but Sombra finally got announced. It was in a spectacular way, ya know what I mean? What'd you think of the intro? Do you think she lived up to the hype?

BromaS: It took awhile, right? To release Sombra... We were expecting a lot. We were pretty hyped. And yeah, she lived up to the hype. The character looks awesome and everything Blizzard is releasing for Overwatch looks pretty crazy.

Talk to me about her kit. You haven't gotten a chance to try her out though, right?

BromaS: No. I couldn't. But I know what she does. What is awesome about Overwatch is that every single character is unique. So, she basically can turn invisible, she can teleport to a grenade, she has some kind of silence ability with her right click and her ultimate. She looks pretty awesome, actually. I don't know if she's overpowered or not. We will need some time to check it out but she looks pretty good.

You said that she falls under a flank-ish playstyle but she's a DPS character. Do you think she's going to be someone you're really going to try to pick up?

BromaS: Yeah, probably! She's got a hitsan which is basically what I am used to play. She's more like a flanker/anti-flanker character. She's kind of special, I don't know. We have to get used to it and explore all the possiblities. LiNkzr'll probably play her too.

Talk to me about the event. You came here for the World Cup and played under Team Spain. Unfortunately, you were knocked out by teammate LiNkzr in Team Finland who then lost to Russia.

BromaS: We weren't expecting this. We were expecting some free time and having fun with friends. With Wings & Harry, guys that I've known for years and I don't get to play with but we play against them a lot. So it was something to relax and just enjoy the time here, but in the end, it was pretty awesome. The support from the people from Spain was pretty crazy. Everything was amazing. And yeah, then we got to play against LiNkzr. We lost 2-1 but it was a pretty awesome game. It's kind of sad that we had to play against each other. One had to go out but it was a pretty good game. I really enjoyed playing against him and with him so it was good.

Coming into this tournament and in the tournament itself, your play has been dirty. There have been highlight reels popping out. Talk to me about that. That McCree play. You went off.

BromaS: I had some really good games, especially against Sweden. I don't know. I was pretty hyped. Every game was pretty awesome. Playing with these guys is awesome. Playing with Harry, with Wing, and the new cool guys... Some people that I didn't know before but it's been a pretty crazy experience. I guess that's the reason. You just play with your team and just play with new people here and you just enjoy it.

Your play was phenomenal. Do you think this is the play we're going to see from now on too?

BromaS: I hope so, yeah!

Prior to this event, your teammate numlocked as well as Art1er both left the team, numlocked being the team captain. Now you've picked up two new players. How do you expect the team atmosphere to change? Have you guys practiced much together yet?

BromaS: Yeah. We're practicing quite a lot. We took a break for BlizzCon but it was looking promising. We swapped a lot of stuff. Draceus was playing support; now he's playing tank. We picked up two supports. We changed the shotcaller too. numlocked was shotcalling. So it's like... we are basically changing everything and we are still adapting to each other. But it looks pretty good.

Do you think the team is going to function effectively or more effectively with Draceus as the team captain?

BromaS: Yeah, sure. We really respect him. He works a lot and he's a really good guy so yeah. We expect really good things from him.

Talk to me about the Overwatch League. That was a big announcement. Blizzard made a huge move trying to push Overwatch forward as an eSport. What do you personally think of that as a player?

BromaS: I've been waiting for this for a long time. For years, I've played a lot of games. It was not working at all. You need a game to go huge, right? And Overwatch looks really, really, really good. The fact that they're investing this sick amount of money... They're creating their own professional league. It's nothing but impressive.

It's definitely a big, big achievement and a big step forward for eSports. And the player security... I'm sure you're happy about the player security popping out from that as well.

BromaS: Yeah, haha!

The final thing I want to talk about is the tournament itself. We had the World Cup which had no prize pool. Do you expect there to be many more tournaments that you'll be participating in during 2017?

BromaS: I don't really know. I don't have any clear plans for the future. I don't know when the pro league is starting. But so far, we had Gamescom, we had ELeagues. Now we had the World Cup. We've been pretty busy the last couple of months. I expect the next year to be exactly the same or even more.

How excited are you for 2017? 2016's over. It's been a big year for you. Your team got picked up by Team Dignitas. How excited are you to be working with Team Dignitas starting now and in the future?

BromaS: I can't wait to go back home. I can't wait to start playing with the guys again and start working hard again and see what we can do in the next year.
