If you are confused about how ranks work in Pokémon Unite, here is a quick guide explaining the ranked system.
If you are looking to climb the Pokémon Unite ranked ladder, it’s important to understand how the ladder works. Ranked mode is at the heart of Pokémon Unite; it divides players based on skill across different ranks.
It’s the mode where strategy, teamwork, and mechanical skill truly matter. Unlike casual matches, where you are just playing for fun or pass time, Ranked is much more serious, and players are actively trying to win the game.
The mode exists to separate good players from great, and if you want to be at the top of the ladder, you need to understand how the system works. The Ranked System in Pokémon Unite is a bit unique compared to other MOBAs. So, here is everything you need to know about the ranks in Pokémon Unite.
You can’t just download the game and queue into a ranked match. There are requirements you need to fulfill before you can start grinding ranked. For new accounts, here are the prerequisites for unlocking ranked mode.
These barriers exist to ensure that you are familiar with the game before you jump into ranked. You don’t need to do anything other than just play the game. These requirements will be fulfilled over time just by playing casual matches.
The only thing you need to worry about is the Fair Play score. That’s because the Fair Play score can decrease even after you unlock ranked, and if that happens, you will be locked out of the mode. The Fair Play rating doesn’t really decrease unless you are doing things like being AFK, being toxic, or trolling. If you are playing like normal and are trying to win the game, you don’t need to worry about the Fair Play rating. Once these requirements are fulfilled than you can jump into Ranked and start your climb.

Much like any competitive game, Pokémon Unite also has ranks that you progress through. Each rank is divided into sub-classes. Once you have progressed through all the sub-classes of a rank, you move to the next rank. It’s nothing new; all competitive games have this system. But what’s interesting is that there are no placement matches in Pokémon Unite. You start at the bottom of the barrel and climb your way to the top. With that said, here are the Pokémon Unite ranks in order.

You start at Beginner and gradually win your way to Master.

Pokémon Unite has made ranked progression really simple, and it’s all centered around Diamond Points. To move up a class, all you need is four Diamond points, rank up through the subclasses, and then you can move on to the next rank. Here is how you get Diamond Points in Pokémon Unite
The system is quite simple: win a match, and you progress; lose a match, and you will lose progress. In the midst of this, there is also something called Performance Points. These are designed to reward individual performance.
Performance Points allow you to get more Diamond Points after a match. Just as the name suggests, it rewards players based on individual performance. Every rank has a threshold PP cap, if you fill that, you get an extra Diamond Point. Here is how Performance Points are awarded.

Bonuses:
You don’t necessarily have to fill the PP bar in one match; the progress carries over to the next match. Here is the PP cap for every rank in Pokémon Unite:

For instance, if you get 120 PP points in Great, you will earn an extra Diamond Point. Performance Points are a great way to boost your ranked progress.
The ranked system remains the same until you reach Master, the highest rank in the game. From then on, you are ranked based on Victory Points, which caps at 99999.
Much like other competitive games, Pokémon Unite rewards players for their ranked achievements. As you progress through the different ranks you unlock rewards which are usually cosmetics. This is pretty general stuff, but the thing you should grind for is Aeos Tickets that you will get at the end of the ranked season. How much you get depends on what rank you were at the end of the season. So, if you were a Master, you would get 15,000 Aeos Tickets along with other cosmetics.
You can then spend these Aeos Tickets to buy whatever you want in the game. It’s a cool way of awarding players for their grind with cosmetics.
Pokémon Unite has a very straightforward ranked system. The game has 6 ranks divided into subclasses, except the last rank. You progress by earning Diamond Points, which you can get by either winning a match or filling up the Performance Point Bar. After Master the ranked system switches to a leaderboard system than points system.
In short, just focus on performing well in your matches and winning as much as you can, and you will find yourself climbing the ladder really quickly.
