Exotic Weapons are some of the strongest items you can add to your loadout in Fortnite. Found in Holo-Chests or some cases purchased using gold bars through interactions with NPCs, these weapons can pack a serious punch and add some needed firepower to any loadout in the game. This list goes over the current Exotic Weapons in the game and ranks them from worst to best.
Exotic Weapons add a new level of depth to creating loadouts in Fortnite. While many people go for the big, limited-time Mythic weapons, Exotic Weapons often are more accessible, always being part of the Holo-Chest item pool. Because of this, Exotic Weapons are extremely powerful. However, while all of them are strong in their own ways, not all of them are on the same level as the others. Here we are going to be going over and ranking all the current Exotic Weapons, so you know which ones to keep an eye out for.
Starting things off in last place is going to be the Heisted Breacher Shotgun. While not a bad weapon by any means, this gun is just a stronger version of the normal Heavy Shotgun and works the same way. The gun fires an accurate slug shot with a moderately slow rate of fire. This is unlike the other shotguns in the game which fire pellets, making it deadlier at further ranges but not as powerful in closer encounters. This ranks last on the list simply because there is no real “perk” in picking this up as opposed to some of the legendary or mythic shotguns.
I would say that this is the only Exotic on the list where you are better off taking a different weapon of that class, simply because the other shotguns do the job a bit better unless, of course, you prefer the Heavy Shotgun style that the Breacher provides.
The Dragon’s Breath Sniper is an interesting weapon, it acts nearly identical to the classic Bolt Action Sniper. However, the added benefit that the Dragon’s Breath Sniper has is that its rounds set wooden structures on fire. Now if you are playing Zero-Build mode, this is not nearly as beneficial to you since there are not as many structures you can use this on. In build mode, on the other hand, this effect can help you cause some damage during build battles, where wood will be used quite frequently.
The main issue with the Dragon’s Breath Sniper is that in almost all instances, the Heavy Sniper is the better option, it has the same clip size, destroys structures more efficiently, and deals way more damage. However, it outranks the Heisted Breacher Shotgun, because there is a much smaller weapon pool of Snipers as opposed to Shotguns, still making it a great option to pick up if you need a good long-range weapon. So, while it is a unique weapon, the Dragon’s Breath Sniper ranks at number five.
The first SMG we are going to look at on this list is the Heisted Run ‘N’ Gun SMG and this is where the Exotic Weapons start to become unique. Resembling the old Compact SMG, the Heisted Run ‘N’ Gun SMG has an extremely fast fire rate, allowing anyone looking for an SMG a very nice DPS boost for close-range fights.
The unique aspect of this gun is that while held, the gun gives the player a permanent Slap effect, giving unlimited sprinting until the gun is switched. This can allow for some useful escape and gap closing in any situation. It also makes general traversal around the map easier as well. Overall, this gun is an extremely strong option for anyone who comes across it, however, there is one SMG that edges theHeisted Run ‘N’ Gun out just a little.
The Heisted Blink Mag SMG just edges out the Heisted Run ‘N’ Gun SMG on this list, though it’s close. Resembling the Twin Mag SMG, the Heisted Blink Mag SMG acts in the same way, allowing the player to reload significantly faster after using the first mag of the gun. Where this gun shines is its utility. After reloading, there is a brief window where the player can perform a Zero Point Dash by double tapping jump, and if timed correctly the player can even dash twice.
This effect is especially strong on the Twin Mag SMG due to how often the player will be reloading. This allows for some crazy close-range plays depending on the loadout and can also provide a getaway where enemies can be finished off from a longer range. The Heisted Blink Mag SMG is a very powerful weapon that can find its way into almost any loadout.
This decision was very difficult to make, but in second place we have the Heisted Explosive Assault Rifle. This weapon is essentially the Red-Eye Assault Rifle; however, all bullets explode on impact with players and surfaces. The rounds deal splash damage as well, making this even better in long-range fights where you just barely miss your shot. This weapon excels at taking down builds and vehicles since the bullets explode on impact. This makes the weapon especially useful in both game modes of Fortnite.
The Heisted Explosive Assault Rifle does the same job as the regular Red-Eye Assault Rifle, but better making it a great pickup in any scenario where the Red-Eye would fit.
Ranking in at the number one spot is going to be the Heisted Accelerant Shotgun. This gun does everything you want a great shotgun to do and more. This gun acts very similar to its design inspiration the Maven Auto Shotgun, but has the added benefit of increasing its fire rate with every shot landed up to a cap of 50% giving it such great DPS for a shotgun.
This allows you to open so many slots in your inventory for other weapons and items since this can provide you with a main close-range option due to the accelerated fire rate. The Heisted Accelerant Shotgun is the best Exotic weapon on this list simply due to its versatility and synergy with any other weapon in the game, allowing you to cover so many other options in your inventory.
While this list is an ordered ranking, realistically, all these weapons can find a spot in anyone’s arsenal. Exotic Weapons are a unique class of weapons that allow players to add both firepower and utility to their load outs. While some are better than others, each of the Exotic Weapons provide a great option for players if they are looking for something a little extra to fit in their inventory.
