With his Recon Bolts that can reveal enemy positions and allow you to get great wall bangs, or his Shock Bolts that can decimate an enemy in the wrong place and the wrong time, or can deny a plant or defuse, Sova has molded itself as an agent to fear in VALORANT, and that’s without lineups. Lineups are certain crosshair and player positionings that allow you to land your utility, in this case, arrows, in spots that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to land consistently without exposing your position, or risking getting shot. Today, we’ll be teaching you some arrow lineups for the brand new map, Breeze. We chose Breeze because it is the newest addition to the VALORANT map pool, and there are not nearly as many lineups for the maps compared to the other 5 maps.
Before we start, we would like to credit AverageJonas, imcody, and Snapiex for finding some of the lineups used in this guide, we will link their channels at the end.
How to make your own lineups.
Making your own lineups is a tedious but worthwhile task as most players play differently, and could benefit from their own lineups to work best with their own playstyle. Here are several tips to keep in mind when making your own lineups in a custom match:
- Height does NOT necessarily equal distance. The higher the arrow goes up the less it actually travels horizontally, it just travels more vertically, the optimal angle is closer to a 45-degree angle, any lower it will just hit the ground sooner.
- Sometimes it is smarter to shoot the arrow higher rather than lower to decrease distance, this is because if you shoot it lower it might hit a building or object, and shooting it higher lets it go over them.
- Two bars is often the sweet spot for a no-bounce far distance lineup due to zero and one bar being too short and three is too far. Start with two and adjust it accordingly.
- Always use a Recon Bolt to test your lineups, even if it is a Shock Bolt lineup. This is due to the Recon Bolt showing where it lands on the minimap, so you do not always have to manually check where it lands. Though you still should check from time to time.
- Ping on the map where you want your arrows to land, then use its indicator in-game to angle yourself towards the ping, so you do not have to guess what direction you want your arrow to go.
- Try to find an object or corner you can line up any piece of your UI when you find a lineup, as it will be easier to remember.
- Try to make the position in a corner, so you do not have to guess where you go every time you do a lineup and have a controlled environment for your lineups.
- Persistence is key, keep trying if it does not work out immediately.
Here is a graphic showing some of these tips.
Bolts for A-Site
For A-Site, it is hard to create lineups because of the giant roof covering almost the entirety of the site, and most arrows will land on that roof, blocking the arrow, but we do have a few arrows for you.
This attacker-side Recon Bolt is fairly simple and you just have to sit in the corner shown below, two charges, and line up the corner of the inner charge bar with the top inner corner of the window or balcony shown on the image. This arrow hits the back of the site and clears most of the back or A-Site, and that corner behind the boxes to the right of the site, which a lot of people hide. Overall, this is a useful arrow.
The next dart is a Recon Bolt that should be used for retaking A-Site if you were watching middle or B-Site. Just line up the corner of your bounce and shoot indicator with the bottom of the vine shown below. The arrow should land inside Cave and reveal anyone hiding there in a post plant scenario. Extremely useful arrow.
The next lineup is a simple post-plant Shock Bolt that can quickly be lined up to prevent a defender from defusing the spike. Make sure to plant it in the spot shown below and line up your crosshair with the top of the dark spot of the boulder shown below. Use three bars and one bounce and it will hit directly on the spike.
Bolts for B-Site
B-Site is a fantastic site for Sova to hold and retake due to the angled walls surrounding the site. Here are five arrows you can use on this site.
The first two bolts require you to sit in the corner of the cannon shown below.
This first bolt is a Recon Bolt that clears the left corner of the site when coming from B-Main. Just line your inner charge bar along the cannon shown below. This is a fairly simple lineup and not pixel-perfect, shoot it with two charge bars and no bounce. This is an extremely useful lineup as enemies love to hide in that corner and surprise anyone pushing up to the site.
The next bolt is a post-plant Shock Bolt that hits default from Cannon, just put your crosshair near or on the dark spot of the leaf shown below, shoot with two charge bars and no bounce. This arrow is extremely useful as it is far away and safe from retakers but still allows you to defend your spike from defusal. Do be careful because if you run out of arrows and they are still alive, you might be in trouble.
For this retake bolt, just press yourself up against the corner of the doorway and railing in Defender’s Spawn and aim at the center of that N’s second line, shoot it with three charge bars and two bounces. This arrow is extremely valuable in a retake situation as it clears the spot people love to hide in, especially when they are holding the site from Tunnel and Defender’s Spawn.
The next lineup can either work as a post plant dart or a plant denying Shock Bolt. Just sit in the corner of the doorway and the crates to the right of Defender’s Arches and aim just above the brick shown below, shoot with three charge bars and one bounce. This can easily deny a plant or deny a defusal, though the former is most often the case.
The next bolt lineup is actually an arrow you shoot all the way from A-Site’s Cubby and lands all the way in B-Main. Just line your first bounce indicator to the second white tube shown below, shoot it with two charges and no bounce. This is a great fake-out dart to make your enemies think you are in Middle or holding B-Site, or in general, provides a lot of support to your teammates holding B-Site.
Bolts for Middle
Middle is a fantastic place for Sova to hold just due to its overall openness which makes it hard for people to dodge his Recon Bolts.
The first dart is a two-for-one lineup, just change the number of bounces and it goes different places. Just put your crosshair in the dead center of that piece of sheet metal, and shoot it for the full three charge bars. One bounce clears Mid Stack and Elbow, and two bounces clear the Bottom of Middle. This is a fantastic arrow with so much utility and is worth keeping in your arsenal next time you hold Middle.
The next arrow is a simple arrow that clears the bottom of the Middle and Cannon and can give you info on whether the enemy team is going to execute a push on B-Site or not. Just line up your inner charge bar with the crates shown below, shoot with full charge bars, and no bounce. This arrow can get a ton of information for your team and potentially shut down a whole execution to a site.
The final arrow we’ll be showing you is a simple lineup. All you have to do is stand in the corner of the bottom of Middle, aim your crosshair in the middle of the tower shown below, shoot it with full charge bars and no bounce. It will land on Elbow and show any players up Elbow, in the top of Middle and Nest. This arrow is very simple to execute and very effective is a must use if you and your team are planning to take control of Middle.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Sova once again proves himself as a top-tier agent with his massive utility importance in VALORANT’s most recent addition to the map pool. We here at Dignitas sincerely hope you found this guide useful, and use these lineups to frustrate and defeat your enemies.
