The latest changes to Uncharted Realms are here!
The latest changes to Uncharted Realms are here!
In the first two weeks of Set 7.5 following launch, Uncharted Realms has already gone through numerous balancing changes to keep the state of the meta fresh and stable. Comps such as Darkflight Cannoneer Aphelios, with the item duplication interaction with Zeke's Herald, as well as Guild Xayah were nerfed slightly in the patch 12.17b due to the popularity of the comps being played across the board. Patch 12.18 is the first major patch in Uncharted Realms, and it will feature balancing changes to champions, augments, traits, and items, as well as addressing some bugs.
In the 1-cost and 2-cost Champion roster, Wukong is being bugged, which should improve his playability in the early stages of the game and potentially allow him to serve as a reroll carry. We’re also seeing significant nerfs to Aphelios’ DPS with the Attack Speed nerf, which could significantly lower the strength and playability of the champion in the early stages of the game.
Wukong: Attack damage percentage from his spell was increased from 165/180/195% to 185/200/230%
Kai’Sa: Spell damage from her ability was buffed from 35/55/75 to 40/60/85 Spell Damage
Aphelios: Base Attack Speed was nerfed from 0.75 to 0.7
Lux: Spell damage from her ability was nerfed from 350/425/575 to 325/400/525 Spell Damage, and her ability animation was buffed to move slightly faster
Zac: Heal from ability buffed from 200/220/270 to 220/250/300 Spell Heal
With Nunu being slightly overtuned as the primary carry in the “Dragonmancer Nunu” comp, the balancing team decided to adjust Nunu’s amplified bite threshold from his 33% to 20%. The balancing team also fixed a bug that had apparently scaled Nunu’s amplified bite damage with Giant Slayer’s amplification damage, which gives an additional 20% damage to attacks and abilities but increases that to 45% if damage is done to units with 1900 or more Health.
Nunu: 33% Threshold Damage Amplified to 20% -> Bugfix implemented so that Nunu’s Amplified Bite damage scales with Giant Slayer’s damage amplification
Volibear: Spell damage from his ability was increased from 110/155/215 to 125/175/240 Spell Damage
Zeri: Spell damage from her ability was buffed from 160/240/420 to 200/300/475 Spell Damage
Zippy: Base Attack Damage was increased from 80 to 85 Attack Damage; Bugfix was implemented so that Zippy could hit his spell target more reliably.
Overall, we’ll see a buff to the Dragon champions of the set, with dragon units such as Tyrant Swain, Sohm, and Shi Oh Yu receiving substantial buffs as they have been underplayed for most of the previous patch. Aurelion Sol also received major buffs to his Spell Damage in order to keep him competitively strong in power with his counterpart Ao Shin.
Daeja: Attack Damage rework from previous patch was removed, so base Attack Damage is increased now from 0 to 20 Attack Damage; Passive Damage from his spell cast was nerfed from 40/60/180 to 25/40/150 Passive Damage
Sohm: Spell Explode Damage from his ability was increased at one and two-star from 275/375 to 300/420; Spell Explode Damage at three-star remains the same as before at 1500 Spell Explode Damage
Shi Oh Yu: Spell Damage Reduction was buffed from 15/20/50 to 20/25/50% Spell Damage Reduction, and Spell Attack Damage Percentage was buffed from 230/250/1000 to 250/275/1000% Spell Attack Damage
Tyrant Swain: Missing Health Percentage healed from his ability buffed from 11 to 12% Missing Health Percentage regained
Aurelion Sol: Spell Damage from his ability increased from 325/550/4000 to 350/575/4000 Spell Damage, and Ascended Damage from his spell cast after 18 seconds was increased from 15 to 20% Ascended Damage
Last Whisper received a nerf in its armor penetration effect, getting it reverted back to 50% Armor Penetration. This change includes Radiant Last Whisper as well, being reduced from 60% Armor Penetration back to 50%.
Cutthroat: Mana Reave from Assassins’ first attack on the first unit they target increased from 50% to 65% Mana Reave.
Dragonmancer Conference: New Silver-tier augment added to Patch 12.18; every two rounds, a random Dragonmancer appears on the player’s bench. Gain a Kai’Sa.
Hero-In-Training: Buff percentage for the Dragonmancer nearest to the Dragonmancer Hero increased from 50% to 66%.
Lucky Gloves: Adjusted to improve item rolls for frontline Attack Damage units. The Prismatic Augment will now always give full items and weaker item rolls were removed in order to improve the strength of the overall Augment.
Ricochet: Bounce Damage Reduction from Cannoneers’ cannon shots (comes from Cannoneers’ every 5th attack) increased from 33% to 40% Bonus Damage Reduction, which overall lowers damage by Cannoneers’ cannon shots slightly.
Verdant Veil: Crowd control immunity duration increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
Weakspot: Armor penetration reduced from 20% to 10%.
Major changes were implemented to some of the traits in Uncharted Realms, with the Astral trait receiving more reworks and tweaks to some of the champion and item orb drops. Both the Dragonmancer and Cannoneer traits were nerfed in order to lower the strength of the overpowered comps that utilized those traits. Additionally, several Shimmerscale items were buffed from when they were first released in the opening patch of Uncharted Realms.
Astral: Rework applied to Astral loot table, with the quality of orb drops being increased at every Astral units’ star levels instead of breakpoints. Duplicate Astral champions being played on a player’s board no longer count towards star level count of Astral orbs.
Cannoneer: Attack Damage Percentage from Cannoneers’ cannon shots reduced at the four and six trait breakpoint from 300/475 to 250/450 Attack Damage Percentage.
Mage: Double cast Ability Power buffed at the 5/7/9 Mage trait breakpoints from 100/125/150 to 110/145/180 Ability Power Double Cast
Ragewing: Slightly nerfed at the six-trait breakpoint, reducing the Attack Speed buff from 175 to 150% Attack Speed.
Dragonmancer: Base Health at the six and eight trait breakpoint nerfed from 900/1200 to 800/1000 and Base Ability Power at the eight trait breakpoint lowered from 75 to 70 Base Ability Power.
Shimmerscale: Multiple Shimmerscale items received buffs, with Crown of Champions having its cooldown reduced from six seconds to five seconds. Gold from Determined Investor was increased from 10 to 15 Gold dropped. Needlessly Big Gem units per gold was reduced back to 2 per two units survived after 15 seconds of combat. Mogul’s Mail Health was increased back to 350 Health. Goldmancer’s Staff chance to proc was increased from 33% to 40%, and base Ability Power and Mana was increased from 15 to 20.
Despite compositions and builds such as Dragonmancer Nunu and Guild Xayah receiving nerfs in the previous patch and even continuing to see nerfs with this upcoming patch, expect more and more comps be made playable thanks to the buffs made to the dragons and champions.
