Job Description

The Rocket League Head Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing strong structure and culture for the Dignitas Rocket League team. The Head Coach will work closely with the General Manager and Director of Performance to define the competitive vision of the organization, and to build the systems, schedule and structures used by the team. The ideal candidate is a natural leader, and highly organized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the General Manager and Director of Performance to develop and implement a winning culture and a structured approach to success.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule that promotes growth and development of players, and gives them the space to take an active role in the improvement of the team.
  • Scout opposing teams and provide sophisticated game reviews of team performances
  • Implement systems to drive player development and improve team performance, including goal setting and active coaching.
  • Attend weekly team meetings led by the the Director of Performance
  • Manage relationships between players and ensure a high level of team synergy through strong bonds in and out of the game and a drive to win.
  • Assist the General Manager in the recruitment and selection of players for the Dignitas Rocket League team.
  • Deliver consistent results and strong competitive performance, demonstrated in official matches and practice.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong leadership skills with an understanding of how to coach, mentor, and develop players
  • 1+ years experience as a Coach or General Manager in traditional sports or esports teams
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and perception skills
  • Base level of understanding of Rocket League and the Rocket League scene; comprehensive knowledge is a plus

Travel Requirements

Must be willing and able to travel for any competitions that the team qualifies for, scheduled bootcamps, or business at the Los Angeles Dignitas office.
