Job Description:

New Meta Entertainment is looking for a full-time Social Media Senior Manager / Director to lead our team of in-house and freelance social media managers and producers. We are looking for an experienced manager that is highly organized, efficient, and operational to ensure our social media channels are the most engaging and effective in the gaming and esports communities.

Our ideal candidate comes with built-in relationships and is a subject matter expert on all relevant social media platforms. Please be prepared to talk through case studies and examples of campaigns where you held primary responsibility and that delivered audience, revenue and engagement. Project management and execution are necessary skills.

In addition to day-to-day operational responsibilities, this person will be responsible for data analytics reporting, planning, editorial oversight and identifying monetization opportunities.

This person will also be responsible for delivering ideas to NME’s sales team for sellable social media assets and spearhead the brainstorming of new content opportunities.

Above all, this person must be passionate about growing and engaging a gaming and esports audience, with the right cultural mindset and leadership skills to motivate, incentivize and hold accountable our rockstar team of social media producers.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the social media strategy set by the COO and SVP of Marketing and provide recommendations on how to constantly improve
  • Use data to identify trends, provide insight, and execute the social media strategy to grow all of our social channels and engagements
  • Anticipate and plan for tentpole moments and events in gaming and esports and how to activate an audience
  • Hold regular planning meetings to ensure editorial calendar is relevant and hits brand goals
  • Implement social media policies and best practices using market research, competitor analysis, and proven performance metrics
  • Provide regular, data-driven reporting to the leadership team that is both qualitative and quantitative about our social media performance as relates to engagement, growth and monetization goals
  • Manage full-time, part-time and freelance social media staff and ensure strict adherence to posting and engagement strategy

Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a background in esports and gaming, with 4-6 years of relevant experience building and managing large communities through online platforms
  • Experience managing a staff of social media producers and managers
  • Understanding of digital platforms, trends and best practices to determine what creates compelling, highly viewed social media content
  • Experience executing on partnerships deliverables
  • High level of experience with social media reporting tools and understanding of the metrics / why they matter
  • Ability to trouble-shoot under pressure
  • Comfortable working under strict deadlines
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working with professional players and influencers
  • High-energy, motivated creative leader with problem solving and solutions based mindset
  • Contacts at the major social media platforms and the ability to build meaningful relationships to take advantage of product features, opportunities and better scale audience and revenue

Travel Requirements

Required travel would be approximately 5%-15%. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

Work Environment

This position generally requires that work be performed from the Dignitas Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. Attendance at events taking place offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may be required.
