Job Description:

NME is looking for a full-time Sr. Director of Content to join our Marketing team. We are looking for a high-energy, motivated creative leader who will be responsible for development and production of multiplatform content around gaming, our competitive team, players and creators. A successful candidate will have proven experience growing social channels by millions of users. This is a senior position within our org, managing day-to-day operations around bringing our NME brands and partner content to life across social media, graphic/motion design and video production verticals.

Must be local to the Playa Vista, Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the vision for NME brands and their growth across social media, premium content and live broadcast platforms
  • Lead the social media and premium content department to execute the development and distribution of the NME brands’ approach to new and emerging content platforms
  • Ensure that all content hits top KPI as established by NME, including all key growth metrics
  • Own the editorial calendars from daily and trending social posts, tentpoles events and everything between: fully produced videos for new partners, full-length shows with Dignitas talent, memes, vertical short-form videos, animated shorts
  • Establish, enforce, and evolve the brand's personality as expressed through voice and tone in content across platforms
  • Manage a staff of social media producers, studio and video production staff and designers to ensure projects are met with brand and creative standards, serves user interests, and fulfills business objectives
  • Must be an excellent communicator with lateral management skills across NME Talent, Competitive and Activations teams
  • Oversee a budget dedicated to creating compelling and engaging content
  • Have a genuine interest, knowledge of or willingness to gain knowledge of the esports and gaming market inside and out and how it intersects with pop culture, lifestyle and other trending digital conversations

Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years in entertainment, lifestyle, gaming or sports
  • Deep knowledge of digital content creation, distribution platforms and practices; with the ability to shoot/produce/edit as needed
  • 5+ years managing a creative staff of producers, editors, graphics, talent
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including partnerships and operations teams
  • Deep knowledge of building a diversified and digitally native content portfolio across social media, live and on demand platforms
  • Experience owning a P&L, budgeting and forecasting
  • Expertise in the competitive and casual gaming market

Travel Requirements

  • Required travel up to <10% of the time. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights. Attendance at events taking place offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may also be required.

Work Environment

  • The candidate must live within a comfortable drive of the NME headquarters in Playa Vista, LA and be willing to work on site.
