Overpass Smokes You Might Not Have Known For T-Side

Overpass is a main map of the map pool and smokes are required for this map as much as any.

The smokes that will be shown in this article will help you improve your knowledge of Overpass and make sure you can help the team compete on this map when you end up playing there. These smokes will give you the opportunity to win those important T-side Rounds that are needed when playing Overpass.

Bridge Smoke From By Playground

This first smoke can be used in many different ways when playing Overpass. It can be used for a fake, B take or even assisting a teammate who wants to peak B short. This smoke is perfect as it isn't amazingly hard to aim for and doesn't have issues with landing in the area that it is needed. This means that, without the need of a jump throw, the smoke will land 99% of the time.

As the picture shows, how to throw this smoke involves leaning into the corner of this wall, aiming at the side of the pole and then throwing it. If the smoke is thrown correctly, it will land on the bridge area on B site and assist in the tactic you have decided to go with.

Bridge Smoke From B

Another way to do the Bridge smoke involves going outside B and using the train tracks wall as a marker. This smoke is perfect if you are looking for a B take with most the team going to B with just one lurker at A. This smoke can be combined with the barrels molotov and heaven smoke. Using these can help you take B site with ease and can make it so the CT's rotating don't have any vision of the site while the bomb is being planted.

As the picture shows, to do this smoke you need to make use of the barrel and then line up with the edge of the wall. Using the lines as the indicator makes this smoke easy. When thrown correctly, the Bridge at B will be smoked off so you can take B site.

Heaven Smoke

The heaven smoke needs to be combined with the Bridge smoke. With the use of these smokes, a B take can be made a lot easier than normally entering the site. This smoke is very simple and can actually be common in high level games. The smoke involves using the B site sign. Moving into this sign and then aiming at the wires at the top of the B site, the smoke can be thrown and this will smoke heaven.

By smoking heaven, the AWPer won't be able to get any picks as the T side are entering. Also, the rotators won't have an easy way back onto the site as they might normally have if the heaven spot isn't smoked.

Front Site Smoke

Now on to the A site smokes. This first smoke is going to be combined with another two smokes. With the use of these smokes, the whole of A site can be smoked off so the CT side cannot stop when you're planting the bomb. This smoke involves aiming at the blue box that is on the image. Aiming at this tree branch will make it so the smoke will land in the front of the site. This smoke is made easy by the fact that all you have to do is move against the wall that is shown in the picture to make sure the player has the right aim.

Truck Smoke

The truck smoke is very close to the front site smoke. This smoke is needed to make sure the wall of smokes is complete. This smoke involves going into the corner and then aiming at the specific branch that is coming out of the tree. Also, make sure to crouch in the corner before doing this smoke. This spot is shown with the blue box. By aiming at this spot and throwing the smoke, it will bounce at the truck area and stop the CT's from playing at truck.

This smoke is part of the wall of smokes as mentioned before and can be combined in most strats that are used when trying to take A site on Overpass. This smoke can even be combined with fakes as the access to connector is close to go back to B site.

Box Smoke

This is the last smoke needed for the wall of smokes. This is called the box smoke and is needed to protect the players coming from A long. This smoke involves aiming at the sign on this door and aiming at the letter on the building. If thrown correctly, the box will be smoked off and complete the wall. This smoke has one issue that is you need to cross A long to get here. However, with the use of flashes, it is very possible to get to this spot without any major issues.

Eco Plant Smoke

The last smoke, as always in these tutorials, will be an eco plant smoke. This edition of eco plant smoke will need the use of B short. With 4 players rushing B short, this smoke can enable the ability to try and get bomb down when on an eco. This smoke is very similar spot to the Bridge smoke that is used in the B takes. This smoke can be thrown from close to spawn and can mean that a B plant could be possible within 20 seconds. Also, with the use of B short, the short range can enable the ability to get some kills and can even make a round win possible.

I hope this guide was useful, be sure to practice these smokes and hopefully it helps you in your games.
