What to Expect from CSGO Cases using a Simulator Part I: Chroma , Chroma 2, Chroma 3, and Falchion Cases
This guide will show what you can expect from a CSGO case simulator for Falchion, Chroma, Chroma 2, and Chroma 3 Cases
This guide will show what you can expect from a CSGO case simulator for Falchion, Chroma, Chroma 2, and Chroma 3 Cases
Overview:
This will be a guide to what you should be expecting using a Case Simulator. In this portion of the guide, I will be opening Chroma, Chroma 2, Chroma 3, and Falchion cases. In this simulation I will be opening 200 cases of each case I listed above. The website that I will be using is called http://convars.com/case/. From my experience, this website delivers the most realistic experience akin to opening a case on CounterStrike: Global Offensive. The main reason for this guide/experiment is because of the curiosity behind it as well as the recent claims by many players that the amount of money spent on cases and keys far surpasses what you will receive from the cases.
Disclaimer:
I do not claim this simulator is 100% accurate the same cases that Valve offers in CounterStrike: Global Offensive. Also open cases at your own risk. Even though I may have gotten very lucky with a certain case, that does not necessarily mean that you will have the same luck! Open CSGO cases responsibly!
Chroma:
The original chroma case introduced many expensive and new knives to CSGO. Interestingly enough, this was one of the best cases of this whole simulation. Within the first 50 cases, I received one of the first knives of the simulation. Also, it happens to be one of the best knives possible from the Chroma case. This variant of the knife is one of lower phases that the doppler has, however it is still worth about $376.81 which is a hefty sum of money.

Oh wow, what a great way to start this case off! However, it only gets worse from this point. For the rest of the case I received little to nothing. I got a few red skins and pink skins, but nothing of importance. In the end, I ended up losing money from the cases. This is one of the perfect examples that show that you can get very lucky, but still the house can beat you. Below, are the final results of what I received from the case. In the end, I would have lost about $60 if I had been using real cases.

In the screenshot above, the regular non Stat-Trak weapons are in the left hand column. In the right hand side, this is the Stat-Trak weapons that I received from my cases that I opened.
Chroma 2:
I originally thought the Chroma 2 case would be one of the better cases in this group of cases. However this was not true. Even though I did receive one knife, it was a lower tier knife. It wasn’t an awful case in comparison to the cases below, but it was still a lot less than what I expected.

The knife above was the only knife that I received. It’s also a well-worn knife which are notoriously hard to trade. This is a very low tier knife and I was very disappointed whenever I saw the yellow “Special Rare Item” I was expecting something more than this. However, if I got this in a case, I would not be upset because a knife is a knife and very rare. In the end, I ended up spending about $505.99 and receiving $202.11 back. This is a little over a $300 difference from a case that I thought would end up being one of the cases that I thought would be closest to profiting.

Chroma 3:
The Chroma 3 case is the newest case of the Chroma series. It contains a few nicer skins as well as the possibility to receive the same Chroma knife skins. Unsurprisingly, this case did not yield much. However, it was one of my biggest losses which is something of note. I spent $517.99 in fake money and in return I received $108.55. So approximately for every $1 I spent, I received $0.20. That’s right, essentially I spent pennies on the dollar to 1 red and 5 pinks. I may do further research on this case in particular and see if I possibly profit or shorten the gap between $517.99 and $108.55 in a future guide or case simulation.

Falchion:
The Falchion case originally introduced the new Falchion knives. These knives were highly sought after at their release, however since then their prices have fallen substantially. However, this case does have a few good skins in it such as the AWP Hyperbeast and the AK-47 Aquamarine Revenge. Even though these skins are in this case, I came into this case thinking it would be one of the worst cases to open. I was correct in this assumption. In the image below you can see that it was even worse than the Chroma 3 case.

Conclusion:
After these cases it appears that the Falchion Case is the current king of worst case to open as of the time of this article being published. The Chroma case is currently the best case to open. However, I still did not profit from it. In the end I received 574 blue skins, 106 purple skins, 28 pink skins, 9 red skins, and 2 knives. If I was using real money, I would have used $2039.97 buying cases and the keys. From these cases, I received $833.09 in skins. For every dollar I spent on cases and keys, I received about $0.40 in skins. I was expecting much worse than this, so this isn’t as bad as what I originally thought it would be.
There will be multiple parts of this simulation. In the next few parts I will discussing a few things an dmaking comparisons. Will a new case overthrow the Falchion as worse case? Will I get a better knife than the StatTrak M9 Bayonet Doppler? Is it possible to profit from 200 cases? All of these questions will be answered within the next few articles. Stay tuned and look for regular updates on these guides on the Team Dignitas website!
