A guide on four champion pairs that you and a bot lane partner can utilize for some synergetic gains.
The bottom lane in League of Legends is one of the most swinging lanes in terms of personal pleasure due to the number of variables in that lane and how snowbally the setup can be. This is why many duo partners decide to pick up both sides of the bottom lane. This is mainly to ensure that both players can interact more, keep things pleasurable for both, and maybe most importantly snowball a lead from laning phase to the mid and late game. In this guide, I am going to present some champion bot lane pairings that hopefully you and your duo lane partner (should you have one) can utilize given the pairings synergy and potential.
Caitlyn/Nami
Definitely, the biggest bully lane that I am going to present to you here given the early power that Caitlyn’s range and early oppression that Nami’s kit possess. This lane has a lot of threat early and so you want to push, push, push. With Nami’s W always there to heal her carry, Caitlyn gets to push with Piltover Peacemaker and trade knowing that she will always have more sustain and more than likely win the trades flat out thanks to her Headshot passive and the amplification of her support's E, Tidecaller's Blessing, which creates a truly obnoxious long-range auto attacker which is very hard to escape from. This early game power can even hold its own against hard engage as it can be very hard to engage on Caitlyn and even harder when Nami is constantly speeding her up (never mind Nami’s disengage tools). This pairing does have a drop off in the mid game but really does spike back up in the mid game especially if the ADC player preps a Headshot before being granted an E buff before smacking a carry for at least half their HP. It's a fun lane than any duo setup could benefit from picking up.
Jhin/Morgana
Let me ask you, do your opponents like to move? Would it be a shame if someone were to… snare them? On repeat? Well, guess what, welcome to snare city, as with this you have one of the longest-range CC combos in all of League of legends. Jhin’s W, Deadly Flourish, alongside Morgana’s Q creates Edgar Allen Poe’s favorite type enemy, a nevermore moving one. Now I hear you say that Jhin’s W doesn’t snare without setup. Well speaking of W bound spells, how does the long ranged placed area of effect of Tormented Soil sound? Meaning that either player in this bot lane can start the combo with relative ease to keep a single enemy bound and feeling the pain from The Virtuoso and The Fallen Angel. Unfortunately, the scaling on this lane leaves a lot to be desired and so a victory in the laning phase is a must unless your team brings scaling from elsewhere. While this is a major downside to this strategy, the pick potential that this combo offers is nothing to be scoffed at. A fun combo that any bot lane duo setup can enjoy employing in their champion pools.
Xayah/Rakan
Now I know this one seems obvious seeing as to how its Riot’s own created bot lane duo, but it has to be said it is successful in being a fun and viable bot lane partnership as the combination of Xayah’s steadily accelerating damage thanks to her W (Deadly Plumage) and E (Bladecaller) partnered with the CC and shielding presented by Rakan’s entire kit creates a lane that doesn’t necessarily spike but is present in every stage of the game due to the versatility of both kits. Also, the buff this gives to Rakan’s E (Battle Dance) enhances Rakan’s versatility even further while the recall mechanic is a useful tool too. Fun and viable, definitely worth looking into for any duo partnership.
Kalista/Taric
This is probably the most ‘Meta,’ of all the bot lanes seeing as to how Kalista and Taric have seen their time on the ban list regulars club in leagues such as the LCK and LPL over the last few months. However, these two picks are rarely banned in solo queue and this presents an opportunity for any duo queue setup. This setup is extremely potent as both champion’s kits cover each other’s weaknesses while enabling the other to do exactly what they intend to in their role whether it be ADC or Support. Kalista is a shorter-range ADC who wants to use her mobility to stay alive through the entire fight over a longer duration before using her E (Rend) to finish the fight. The problem with this is keeping Kalista alive as she is a priority target for the enemy team but this where Taric thrives as thanks to his heal/shield kit alongside that ultimate of Cosmic Radiance can keep Kalista alive but at full health. To flip it round, Taric wants to engage and then protect but his E (Dazzle) is difficult to land on his own. However, if Kalista uses her ultimate, Fate's Call, to throw her support in, it makes it easy for Taric to land the stun negating the weakness. This is a great example of how a duo partnership can play together and cover each other in a beautiful synergy. Well worth picking up.
Conclusion
To conclude these champion partnerships can be very fun while synergizing well so no matter who your duo partner in the bot lane is, whether it be your brother, sister, mother father, cousin or even your significant other, these champion picks could be great for your League fun and gameplay. As always GL, HF, and GG.
