In terms of League of Legends, what is quick casting? When you start League of Legends this feature is turned off so what normally happens is that you press a key for whichever ability you’re going to use and then a range/targeting graphic comes up allowing you to see where your ability is going, then your ability is used. With quick cast it totally eliminates the step of the range/targeting graphic and just casts the ability instantly based on where your mouse is. The advantage being less time spent on targeting your ability, which would mean a faster reaction and skill shot use.

Pros

+ Cuts down ability usage time by a significant amount.

+ Potentially increases your reaction time.

+ Only takes a few games to get used to.

+ High ceiling cap for skilled players who can take advantage of this.

Cons

+ Some abilities are better suited to quick cast making it difficult for the ones that are not.

+ You lose range and targeting indicators which can be bad for skillshots.

+ It forces you to be familiar with the range and indicators of the champions you play.

At the end of the day this may or may not improve your game and knowing that it is all preference. Two seasons ago I was Bronze III and towards the end of the season I started to want to climb again. I was looking for every advantage I could get by reading articles and watching videos. I then came across something about quick cast and decided to give it a shot. Within the last month of play I went from Bronze III to Silver II and I believe quick cast was one of the many factors that helped me climb.

While quick casting can help, you still need to be aware of other parts of your game. It is not an end all be all solution. I found that once I started, I could never look back. I have been quick casting for about two years now and can’t stand it when I try and start playing without it.

To access quick cast just bring up the options menu and select quick cast all. If you want certain ability on normal cast while the others are quick casted, you can do so by clicking the highlighted arrow below key which turns it back to normal. To turn it off all you have to do is the normal cast tab and it will turn it off for you.
