We have picked our Top 5 best looting spots on King's Canyon to share with you!
We have picked our Top 5 best looting spots on King's Canyon to share with you!
Looting spots are extremely important when you're in the early to mid-game. Dropping at a specific looting spot will give you roughly the same outcome with some element of luck mixed in. Whether you land at the spot with your initial deployment or walk past it on your way to the circle (aka a "looting route"), knowing where the best loot is can be valuable information. That's why we wanted to lay out the Top 5 looting spots in King's Canyon, Apex Legends' sole map. These spots have been hand-picked and are in no particular order. Let's get right into our top 5!
*Note: Spawned loot will always differ each round that you play, Supply Ships and Hotzones included!*
1) Cascades
The Cascades is a location on King's Canyon that has seen the end of many rounds, with most players preferring Artillery or Bunker as their landing spot. There's a relatively low volume of players that land directly into the Cascades, but that doesn't mean you won't find a fight here. As a landing spot, it isn't ideal. That doesn't mean it's bad since it remains one of the best pass-through looting locations currently in the game.
Whenever you arrive at the Cascades, you're greeted with the message that this location consists of "Normal Tier Loot". While this is true, you'll still be able to find rare items here with the combined benefit of having three different "High Tier Loot" locations around you. Controlling the Watchtower on the northern side of Cascades can also prove to be beneficial, as you'll have an overview of the entire area.
2) Artillery
Artillery is one of the largest looting spots in the north-central part of the map. This means that loot will be more spread out but this area is a High Tier looting area, meaning that you'll definitely find multiple items that'll be great assets towards winning the game.
From Artillery onwards, you have three viable routes that you can take from there on out. Two of them leading towards the Cascades, with the third one also having the option to go there. These three options include:
• Western Tunnel
• Southern Tunnel
• Entrance to the southwestern Forest
All of these options are great in their own regard. The Western Tunnel never gets looted on its own. Go here if you know that the Cascades has been looted and you're not confident about your ability to fight against a full squad.
The Southern Tunnel leads directly to the Watchtower overlooking the Cascades, this being yet another high tier looting spot. If you've looted Artillery in a hurry and want to go towards a fight, this is definitely the best option. Be careful in case you get ambushed! It's a possibility when you're going into this steep tunnel.
We would only recommend going to the Forest located southeast of the Artillery when you're entering the late-game. This location allows for some excellent positioning but doesn't provide large amounts of loot.
3) The Pit
The Pit is located towards the northwestern edge of the map, being just under Slum Lakes (which isn't the best looting spot, it's a fun area to pick a fight though!). The Pit was generally conceived as an area where only one squad member could get fully geared, but after the most recent patch, things have definitely changed! Due to the number of choices that you can make when passing through this looting location, it's up there with some of the best while being one of the smallest areas at the same time.
The Pit will almost never have any loot left when you pass through this area as part of your looting route. Enemies won't camp here though, making it quite safe to pass through most of the time!
After fully looting The Pit, you'll have three different exits. These grant immediate access to the Slum Lakes, Runoff, and the chokepoint located north of the Bunker. Most of the time, Slum Lakes isn't the ideal option since it's a place commonly outside of the Zone. Runoff and the chokepoint above Bunker are two great options. The Zone and other players should influence your decision on where to move next.
4) Repulsor/Hydro Dam
Repulsor/Hydro Dam comes in as the shared number two on our list since these two areas are often looted together. Repulsor is the "High Tier Loot" area while Hydro Dam has more options to go to. Loot is, like Artillery, quite spread out over the two locations. We would recommend landing at the two eastern barracks located in Repulsor, as there's a high volume of loot located in each barracks.
You could also include Swamps into the same category Repulsor and Hydro Dam. It's extremely easy to transition from one looting area to another on the eastern part of the map. The rest should be self-explanatory when you're looking at the map.
5) Skull Town/Thunderdome
Skull Town is always packed with action, giving it a high risk/reward factor. These locations probably have the most loot that's not spawning far apart from each other. If there's a hotzone at Thunderdome, you can drop there first and transition into Skull Town, or vice versa.
Skull Town is ranked as a "Normal Tier Loot" area but we've found plenty of items that belong in the high tier. You also have a lot of options when you're trying to leave Skull Town, the best options include:
• Airbase
• Water Treatment
• Market
• Bunker
Conclusion
No matter what this Top Five says, all looting locations on King's Canyon are viable for at least one squad member. These five locations that we've mentioned, with the exception of The Pit, will have enough loot for a full squad guaranteed. That's all we have on these five looting areas for now.
