Analyzing Erangel's Flight Paths and Landing Options
Most of Erangel's flight paths and the options of where you could land, put in perspective.
Most of Erangel's flight paths and the options of where you could land, put in perspective.
It's hard to keep track of all of the flight paths in-game and it would be a lot of unnecessary work for yourself to start all the way from scratch by remembering what the flight paths are and what the best options are to land close-by and far away from each flight path. This guide is meant to cover the subjects that were mentioned in the sentence before this and could be used as a foundation to produce more strategies with.
All flight paths will have a subheading above the image with the direction it comes from and the first one to three major looting spots it travels past and not where it goes or ends. All of the images used in this article are courtesy of PUBGMap.io
Southern Primorsk/Sosnovka Military Base Flight Path
This flight path has a slight angle to the east, and passes Sosnovka first followed by Primorsk that is barely reachable by going straight to the West when you're on the ideal spot to drop from the plane.
The plane continues to fly further north it goes right over Pochinki making it a hotbed for many people to drop there, then the plane goes past Rozhok/School and ends just east from the most northern city, Severny.
With the obvious spots to land out of the way, there are also many spots that are a lot less visited but are still easily reachable and also have great loot.
For this flight path the not-so-obvious choices would include:
• Yasnaya Polyana. This city will be empty player-wise but have a large amount of loot. The only problem is that Yasnaya Polyana's loot is really spread out so be careful how much time you spend here.
• Georgopol, the large coastal city on the northwestern part of the map, is always a good choice but especially with this flight path due to the fact that it has one of the densest high-loot spots in the game and fewer players will drop at Georgepol since it's far away making it less of a high-risk high-reward looting spot.
• Stalber, the Military Base on top of the mountain on the northeastern part of the map, is a place that absolutely no one will land and will have enough loot for 2 people.
Eastern Mylta/Mylta Powerplant Flight Path
The second flight path we're covering starts from the southeastern edge of the main island and ends at the northwestern part of Georgepol.
Before it reaches the end, the plane passes:
• Prison, a well-known looting spot.
• Shelter, the underground tunnels almost directly west of Prison.
• School
• Rozhok
• Georgopol
All 4 of these are places you can almost drop directly to, with Shelter being the only looting spot that isn't always visited so if you want to drop quickly and loot up fast without too many other players near you, go to Shelter. (It's a big plus if you know exactly where the entrance to the Shelter is.)
This flight path has a lot of looting spots that can be reached just by falling into a certain direction.
Novorepnoye is the first spot I'll be covering, being barely reachable by just falling at a velocity of 126km/h in a southwest direction. Novorepnoye is a very dense city and easy to loot, with the best loot being located on the top and inside of the containers near the southeastern coastal edge of the city. Novorepnoye is a city that not many people visit, so expect two squads or less when you're dropping here with this specific flight path.
The second looting spot is Mansion, also being barely reachable but at the northeastern direction of the spot where you should eject out of the plane. Mansion is a smaller looting spot with quite a large amount of loot considering the space it covers. In the last patch, a lot of trees got added on the north side of Mansion making it a lot safer to escape. Expect one team of players when you're dropping towards Mansion on this flight path.
Pochinki is one of the most visited looting spots but on this flight path, it's an excellent choice to drop at. Because of the few players that are here the loot can be shared between three squads and still have enough loot for everyone. It's not very far from the flight path but since all the other big looting spots are closer to this flight path Pochinki gets visited less.
The last spot we'll be covering for this flight path is Zharki, the most northwestern city on Erangel. This place is actually very easy to land at and since it's at the very tail-end of the map there are also no people to drop with you there. Zharki has enough loot for around six people and a lot of vehicle spawns nearby that won't be used by anyone, allowing you to always have a vehicle to transport yourself to the player zone.
Northeastern Kameshki/Stalber Flight Path
This flight path is one of the oddest ones since it has a lot of looting spots that aren't frequently visited directly on the ground where the plane flies over, starting at Kameshki and Stalber. It follows a path that heads southwest flying over Yasnaya Polyana, Rozhok/School, Pochinki, Quarry and Primorsk.
Quarry is a very bad place to land since it has very little loot and isn't dense at all. The Quarry consists of many different altitude levels and has large empty spots between every loot spawn, so going to compounds around Quarry is a lot better than Quarry itself.
Next up we'll cover all the less visited spots that are within falling reach and a good looting spot:
• Spawn Island. It's a place that rarely ever gets visited but still has loot on it for at least two players. You absolutely need a boat or preemptively eject your parachute.
• Kameshki. Even though it's at the very start of this flight path it's not visited that often. The town is separated into two parts, very easy to loot and has enough loot for a full squad of four players.
• Mansion
• Ferry Pier. This place has split up looting spawns. It may be a little harder to manoeuvre around and is located almost directly next to the exact route the plane has.
Eastern/Western Flight Path (This one can come from both sides)
This flight path is really standard and straightforward. It passes all major southern cities and the flight path only goes north/south very slightly. All looting spots that are good and within the falling range will be very populated so be careful.
With this specific flight path, I recommend looking for a vehicle since the northern part of the map is almost completely empty (except for obvious places like Georgopol, School, etc.)
Less visited spots on this flight path (except for the northern part of the map) include:
• Sosnovka Military Base
• Lipovka. It is a decently sized town but nothing really special.
• Gatka. It is a very open part of the map with compounds that are pretty fairly far away from each other.
• Novorepnoye
Conclusion
Knowledge about flight paths is very useful and can prevent situations where you don't know where to go when you're landing. As said in the introduction of this guide, use this as a foundation to further build your knowledge upon and be prepared for every scenario possible.
