Erangel Looting Routes - Which are the Best?
A guide for looting routes located on Erangel.
A guide for looting routes located on Erangel.
Everyone uses them, consciously or subconsciously. Looting routes are an important part of the game. They allow you to keep on progressing with your loot and make sure that you'll be able to survive multiple firefights before the last few circles. On Erangel, there are a lot of places where good loot spawns but with a lot of players contesting that certain spot for the loot making it a big risk. In this guide, we'll be covering the safest but still rewarding looting routes located on Erangel. Beware that loot is completely random, where it spawns and the quantity is not measurable. With that being said, let's dive right into the guide.
Ridge Complex
Ridge Complex is a very small village located east of the western bridge leading to the Sosnovka base. These yellow houses hold quite a lot of loot especially for a Duo or Solo game and not too many people drop there. You'll be able to continue your looting when you scale a hill walking north with the Red/Orange-ish kind of buildings. From this position, it's really easy to kill other players due to the high ground advantage and if you want to avoid them, just go the Ridge Farm that's located east of your location.
The secondary path you can use takes you to the west and then north to Gatka. This is a great alternative path since the compounds at Farmlands really provide you with a lot of loot resulting in almost having enough to sit out a whole game.
Southwest of Farm/Mylta
These compounds are located just Southwest of Farm and Mylta, giving you a ton of options for where you go next. The first path we'll cover is the black-arrowed route that is by far the safest and has a relatively high amount of loot. You can continue this route with the black and blue arrow for even more loot but a higher chance that it has been looted. You can also totally ignore one of the 2 paths to take. Just keep in mind that you should check where players are landing when you're parachuting.
An alternative path is indicated with the blue arrows. It's a bit more risky due to the distance you need to cross over completely flat land and the fact that other players land more frequently at Farm and Mylta. Just follow the scattered compounds next to the road and keep an eye out for vehicles since one will almost always spawn.
Southwest of School/Apartments
This route is difficult to explain since there are many options you can take. Let's start with the black arrows. The black arrows are the most commonly chosen path to take since it's incredibly safe all the way until the end. When you're at the Ruins you can also choose to skip them and go to Water Town (also called Atlantis) since they're quite hard to loot due to the spawns being so spread out.
You could also go straight to Water Town since it's completely empty most of the time. It's not that good for loot, but a Duo or Solo queue should get enough to survive. It's also very dangerous to go here because the water makes a lot of noise and leaves you out in the open.
There are 2 alternative routes that have high risk, but also extremely high rewards if they work. Going to Pochinki or School after everyone there has killed their enemies so you can kill them right after can be the quickest possible way in the game to be completely stacked.
Stalber
Stalber has two quick and easy routes that are dependent on where the zone lands. The first path is the one with black arrows going from Stabler to Yasnaya Compound. Yasnaya Compound fills up your loot nicely since it has six buildings you can loot with a hangar on the route. Be careful to not fall off the mountain since it's quite easy to die even when you're inside a vehicle! If you need to go even further south, follow the lake coast to the east and go south towards Yasnaya Polyana.
Personally, I would never use the blue path but if you want to go for a different position in the circle with enough loot (Stalber alone usually doesn't provide enough loot unless you're solo) and provides you with a spot where you should not get backstabbed by a team chasing you due to the edge of the map being so remote.
City Looting Routes
You can also interpret looting routes on a town/city scale. There really isn't any explanation for it except for the fact that you should loot the safest part of the town first and then work your way down to other parts of the town that are in the direction of where you need to go for the playzone anyway. If the zone is right on top of the town, just leave the best buildings that you would camp in (if you know you're safe) for last, and prioritize those buildings if you're being chased or you know there's another squad around.
Summary
These aren't all the looting routes that are available on Erangel, but they should give you a general idea of how you should look at them and use them to your advantage. I personally use all of the looting routes mentioned in this guide and you should really learn to adapt yourself to the information the game provides you with like where gunshots are coming from, where the other players landed, and where the plane flew over. I hope you found this guide useful and wish you the best of luck while looting your way to that tasty chicken dinner in PUBG!
