This guide will go through the 5 very best buildings to drop at and loot in Erangel!
What makes a certain building good or at least better than other buildings in PUBG? This is based on the location that the buildings are positioned within a play zone, if there's at least one story or more, and the average loot spawns inside the buildings. The average loot spawns aren't easily pinpointed since loot is completely random but on average some buildings still have more/better loot. We'll be covering all of this and more in this Top 5, let's jump right in!
Grey/Orange Two-Story Building (With or Without Access to the Roof)
This building is located in almost every city like Pochinki, Mylta, Georgopol, Severny, etc. The upsides of this building are that there are almost always two important gear pieces in this building and it's really easily to defend since people can't look in from outside when you're on the first floor. This building features a terrace on the ground floor and the first floor and barred windows which you can really use to your advantage for dodging incoming grenades from the outside. The terrace can also be used to your advantage for quick peeking and a lot of vision while crouching and looking around you in 3rd person.
The version of this building that has roof access is even more useful, since you can camp the stairs leading from the first floor to the roof safely without even getting damage when you're getting breached or from incoming grenades. Just crouch and hold Q/E while aiming down sight on the ground floor stairs leading up to the first floor for a quick and easy kill if your aim isn't too shabby.
Red/Orange-ish Two-Story Building
By now, you've probably noticed that having at least two floors in a house is really the make it or break it for this list. While this is true, this building is on the list since it's almost impossible to push when a squad is camping this building. You can find this building all over Erangel inside and outside of the normal cities and it's so good because the stairs to the first floor are in the exact center of the building and there's only one window where enemy players can throw grenades through. There's one warning that you should always keep in mind when you're defending this building. You should keep an eye on the doors that lead to the small terraces since they'll just act like extra windows to throw grenades through if they're open or broken.
Military Watchtower (Located in Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base)
This is my favorite landing spot at Sosnovka and Stalber. Since it's usually really crowded at the Sosnovka Military Base, this spot is an easy and relatively small compound to defend from and always yields at the very least two weapons and some head/body gear. You can also loot the outside of the first floor which is kind of dangerous but you can go on a large killing spree with all of the loot combined together. Just beware that you can get shot from the outside when you're on the second floor since there are no windows.
For the Stalber version of this building you can only reach the roof by parachuting on top of it (the second staircase is blocked by crates) and then drop on the first floor terrace. This Military Watchtower is inferior to its Sosnovka counterpart when it comes to safety and loot that you'll find on average but it's still a really good place to drop at!
Three-Story White/Red/Blue building (With or Without Roof Access)
This building is probably one of the best to hold in normal PUB games. This building has a ton of windows on each side and should be used as a compound that you can camp in. The loot in this building is decent but nothing special but the potential to defend when you're in the middle of the circle is great. This building has a very small terrace allowing you to look near the outside wall for enemy players trying to breach you.
In solos and duos, I especially adore this building since they mostly don't have enough grenades to throw them on every floor at nearly the same time allowing you to easily walk up or down a floor when one gets thrown in.
White/Sheet Metal Shack
This building would've been a lot better if vaulting/climbing wasn't in the game at all, but it still remains one of the best buildings to drop at first. This building has a staircase which you can hide under near the center of the building which can surprise enemy players since you can only spot one foot of the player that camps there, which is really hard to spot on its own. The only downfall of this building is that it's hard to escape from the first floor since there are only two windows to escape from when you're stuck in there.
In the early-game, if you're getting chased it's a really smart decision to go into these buildings since most people hesitate to go up the stairs and mostly look around the six different rooms on the ground floor allowing you to easily medicate up and try to kill him with full health.
Conclusion
Almost every building has its upsides and downsides, but these were the buildings that I prefer to use with loot spawning relatively close to each other and the ability to defend yourself by benefitting from the architecture of the building. These aren't the best buildings in everyone's opinion, but we think it offers quite a good idea of what buildings are better than others and why. I hope you learned something from this guide and wish you the best of luck to win as many games as possible!
