How to Access and Download VALORANT: Here is Everything to Get Started!
From getting the beta access to client installation, here's everything you need to get started with VALORANT.
The esports community has been talking about VALORANT ever since Riot Games announced it. Some people see the new tactical shooter as a product of both Overwatch and CS:GO but the game now has a closed beta going live to prove players that is a unique thing.
Not everyone was lucky enough to grab the beta key. If you weren’t one of the lucky ones, we’re here to teach you how you can get your own beta key! And if you were, we have the information you need to queue for your first game.
How to get VALORANT beta access?
Riot has partnered with Twitch, a streaming platform well known to gamers, for the distribution of closed beta keys. Players that wish to grab the chance to play VALORANT early need to start by connecting their Riot account to their Twitch account. Once that’s done through this link, it’s time to enter the world of VALORANT from a different perspective - by watching it.
The chance to get a closed beta key comes from watching selected Twitch streamers who are, of course, broadcasting VALORANT gameplay. And it’s not every day you can do that either, as Riot selected dates on which the keys will be dropping. These dates so far included April 3rd and April 7th, but don’t worry if you missed those, as Riot announced that they will be distributing more keys periodically. If you were keeping up to date with all the VALORANT news and kept enough Twitch tabs open to be one of the first 100,000 players to get the beta key, congrats! Let’s take a look at how to get you started with the game.
If you have the key, then you surely already have a Riot account. If somehow the key came through a different channel, then the first step towards playing VALORANT is creating the account. Both signing in with the existing or creation of the new account are the first thing to see when VALORANT's official webpage is opened.
A further scroll through the page will give out more details on what VALORANT is, but that’s not what we’re here for, so let’s use the “sign-in” box. Once logged in, players should click on the third and final button of the steps box - download - which will instantly prompt a pop-up for the client’s .exe installation. That step can also be skipped by simply clicking here.
Save the file, click, and install just the way you would with any other software (by clicking install, and then next a couple of times). And that’s it! Choose your in-game nickname and start the journey of the new tactical shooter. Don’t worry for a typo in the nickname for now, as we have a quick video to show you how to change it!
