Recent dataleaks hint at new game modes for VALORANT on the horizon.
Everyone with beta access is out enjoying VALORANT on one of the first three maps, Haven, Bind and Split. Currently the only game mode that is supported sees two teams fighting over two or three bomb sites where a spike needs to be planted and detonated for the attacking side to win, while the defenders have to prevent that. This is the classic CSGO game mode that we're all very familiar with in the shooter genre. However, recent data leaks by dataminer FireMonkey could reveal that more game modes are coming up.
When digging through the game files, FireMonkey came across the following game mode names:
- Base rush
- Bomb
- New Player Experience [Tutorial]
- Shooting Range
- Site Rush
We're all familiar with the tutorial from when we first launched up the game. Additionally, the Shooting Range is most likely the practice area where you can experiment with new agents, while Bomb seems to be the regular mode that everyone is currently enjoying in beta.
So what is Base Rush and Site Rush? Judging by the name, they sound like possible Capture The Flag modes where teams have to hold a certain location, perhaps similar to the popular game mode of the Battlefield game series. It could be two different modes or just one mode that the developers renamed during development and then didn't bother cleaning up their code. We've seen it before that abandoned data was left in code due to tight deadlines for development teams.
With the full game releasing in Summer, we're bound to hear more from Riot Games in the upcoming weeks and months, to reveal what the full game of VALORANT is like.
