Changes and Introduction to Guide
While doing the different map guides throughout this series, I've come up with a few different ideas on how to expand on the idea. This has led to a few more things to be drawn up and explored. This led to this guide leaning away from just being about smokes on T-Side, to general tips and tricks for the T-Side of maps. This means that these guides will now be looking at Molotovs, Smokes and a few little glitches that can help in matches. Another change that will be happening to this guide is that the images used will be a lot more professional. With the images being better quality, this will make it even easier to follow along with the guide.
Now onto the map that will be discussed in this guide. The map will be Cache, a map that has started to become very common in pugs and even best of three series. This map escalated from being in an operation to now being in the map pool of all major CS:GO tournaments. FMPone has done a great job of creating a map that offers both sides the chance to be creative. This means that the T-Side will always have ways of being creative to win rounds and cause rotations in the CT defense. A few of these tips and tricks should be fairly new to many players and will offer some ways of breaking through tough CT sides when needed.
The A-Take
This take involves 3 smokes in the grand scheme of things. One of these smokes should be common knowledge for all Cache players. Smoking the Cross/Highway is common in all Cache games these days and this means that this smoke doesn't need any tutorial. However, the two smokes that will be shown below are really important. With the use of back of red smoke and the catwalk smoke, the number of angles needed to be aimed at will be at an all-time low.
- Back of Red smoke
The first smoke in this strat involves smoking the back of red. This smoke is crucial for getting down the A-Main plant all teams aim for when attacking the A-Site. The smoke blocks the CT players from getting vision of the attacking T Players when the CT players are rotating to the site. This smoke is really easy to do and the lineup is rather simple to remember. Just make sure to back all the way into the corner to make sure that the model can line up without any issues.
- Catwalk Smoke
This smoke is great when combined with the cross smoke everyone knows for this map. This smoke is a lot harder to do than a few of these smokes but it can be easy to memorize after doing it a few times. The crosshair isn’t really needed, but it can be useful in making sure the lineup is always correct and no issues happen when throwing the smoke. The reason this catwalk smoke should be done instead of others is because a lot of the other smokes involve jump throwing the smoke. With a few leagues now trying to go away from jump throw scripts, this means it would be best to understand this way to do it.
The Mid-Take
Mid control on Cache is important as it offers ways into splitting A site or even splitting B site through vents. Taking control of mid can be done with one Molotov and 2 smokes. This means that the amount of utility needed to take mid isn't crazy and allows it to be done in most rounds.
- The Vent Molotov
This Molotov is perfect for clearing out vents if you believe a CT player likes to play there. Vents can be a powerful position for CT players as a player there can stop pushes in both mid and B. This is why it is important to make sure the Molotov is used to clear out this position when doing the mid take. This Molotov doesn’t really need the big crosshair. However, the crosshair can be useful to make sure the lineup is correct. This Molotov involves a small run after lining up. This run shouldn’t be more than 3-4 steps before releasing the Molotov.
- Criss-Cross Smokes
These smokes are starting to become a lot more common in most Cache games these days. However, it's crucial to make sure you know how to do these smokes as it enables an easier Mid take. The smokes involve leaning against the two walls in this doorway. You then just have to aim at the opposite side of the window in front. This means that if you are standing right-side, aim to the left window panel, and vice versa for the accompanying smoke.
The B-Take
For the B take, I'll only show Molotovs, as the CT smoke and Heaven smoke are rather simple and majority of players know them at this point. The smokes can even be done on the fly most the time, so it shouldn't be an issue to execute them. However, these Molotovs might not be as common in matches and can be crucial in taking the site.
- Back of Site Molotov
This Molotov is important for making sure that a lot of the cover is cut off. This will mean that the Terrorists will have to clear only a few angles, making the take a lot easier. The Molotov can give some crucial information as well, as you will be able to hear players burning if they are standing too close to this Molotov. The Molotov involves aiming at this line on the wall and then doing a little walk and releasing. Make sure the walk is only 1-2 steps to get the most out of this Molotov.
- Headshot Molotov
This Molotov is becoming common in Cache games due to the fact that it clears one of the hardest angles to fight. Headshot can be hard to clear, as the CT player has the advantage when taking aim duels in this position. This Molotov can be done from many different positions. However, this position is the most consistent and easiest to throw. The Molotov has a lot of room for error, so failing this shouldn't be possible.
- Little Tip
This is a small tip that has started to gain popularity recently after Stewie2K got Freakazoid to do it in a pug. The glitch involves making a player crouch in front of the door and leaning right against it. You will then need to open the door. This will then cause the door to open towards you, instead of the door going towards the CT Players. This enables the ability to peek onto site and see if any of the CT players are playing close on site.
