WE ARE ALL DOOMED

The Doom Bots of Doom have arrived! This annual game mode has been tweaked this year to celebrate the coming of our lord and master, Little Devil Teemo. There are several summoner icons to be unlocked this season. An icon of Little Devil Teemo is earned by completing the Doom Bots of Doom on any difficulty and a pumpkin for sending a gift to any friend. However if you’re like me and gotta catch ‘em all, there is an extra icon for completing Doom Bots of Doom on the hardest possible difficulty compared to anyone else in the world. So lets get to it, to level 100 we go!

ASSEMBLE YOUR TEAM

This isn’t your average bot game. To beat Teemo you’ll need the best of the best. Keep in mind to win this game, you don’t need to destroy the enemy nexus, you only need to survive. That means priority goes out to long-range high damage wave clear champions. After a lot of experimenting, I’ve put together a list of what I believe are some of the best champions for survival.

S Tier

Honorable Mention

The best doom bot champions tend to have good dps combined with range. As an example Jinx and Caitlyn work well for Attack Damage combined with Runaan’s Hurricane for maximum wave clear. For Ability Power, Vel’koz and Anivia are very good at clearing large waves, while Syndra can throw back the random jungle monsters that will attack. For my honorable mentions, I added a few champions that do well, but require a lot more gold to find success than the others. I believe Kog’Maw is an important tool in winning the game, as his percent damage long range autos take out bots very quickly and he may even take out Teemo more efficiently than any other champion in the game.

For Summoner Spells, Smite and Teleport have very high value. Death timers stay relatively low, so taking defensive summoners are a waste. Teleport allows you to defend the outer towers for longer and keep the bots from rotating, and smite is very useful for dealing with the many jungle camps that will attack you, along with providing extra damage to Teemo. As a small tip, smiting the Krugs will also grant you the stun bonus so keep an eye out for them if you are playing an ADC!

CURSES

As with last year, the doom bots come along with many special abilities, or curses, to make fighting them even harder. Along with their normal abilities on steroids, they also have many passive abilities that change every two minutes. Enemies have two of these passives at a time.

Along with the passives you’ll also be challenged by burning bushes, global blinding darts, and giant Viktor ultimate on your towers. Not to mention the jungle mobs and dragons!

TOWER DEFENSE

War has changed! The Doom Bots of Doom is a defense only game. Reaching the enemy towers is an achievement by itself, and every minion that dies to their towers will grant you health and mana. However offense is ultimately not possible. The map has been blocked off by Teemo poison so any exploring of the enemies’ side of the map results in a slow but sure death. Try to match the enemies’ bots with your team as much as possible. In the beginning laning phase will start out standard enough, but after a few minutes the bots will start grouping. It is important to rotate and match the bots or your towers don’t stand a chance. If possible, try to keep mid lane as healthy as possible as that is the lane Devil Teemo will eventually be in. Using a Zz’Rot is a good way to keep a lane healthy that the bots are not in, but remember that the Zz’Rot creeps wont attack the jungle monsters, so it is not going to do all the work for you. Remember minion kills are more important than champion kills! Even with the kill bonus that is awarded, do not overextend or it could mean a gray screen for you. Bots do not recall, so not killing them will keep them weaker with only their starting items to use. However sometimes it cannot be helped.
