Join us for a ride down memory lane as we explore the different lineups for Dignitas over the years.
Dignitas is Rocket League’s 2nd oldest organization still active, right behind NRG. With the acquisition of the new roster and Dignitas’ move back to NA, we excitedly wait for yet another season of fast-paced, high flying action. Walk with us down memory lane as we re-live the evolution of our presence in the RLCS scene.
RLCS Season 5
Jan 23, 2018, Dignitas signs its first-ever roster, consisting of Chicago, Zol, and Turtle. Dignitas gets an automatic RLRS spot due to the 2/3rds rule. The 2/3rds rule allows for a team to retain a spot in league play if two out of three of the previous qualifying players stay teammates. This means that league play qualification is given to the players, not the organization—something somewhat unique to Rocket League as compared to other titles. Chicago and Zol had previously retained their RLRS spot, having previously played under Fibeon Esports. Chicago and Zol had been released from Fibeon Esports after just falling short of an RLCS spot in the RLRS Season 4 Promotion Playoffs. The RLRS was a level below the RLCS, which offered an intense and exciting element of qualifying for the RLCS. The top two RLRS teams would face off against the bottom two RLCS teams for next season's RLCS spots. Dignitas would fall short in the RLRS league play, just missing the promotion playoffs by 1 match.
May 22, 2018, Dignitas signs reigning World Champions Gale Force just before the RLCS Season 5 World Championship. The roster consisted of ViolentPanda, Kaydop, and Turbopolsa. The new Dignitas would go on to win the World Championship title through an incredible lower-bracket run!

The two-time World Champions would continue their success through what was the most dominating league play that format had ever seen. Unfortunately, Cloud9’s momentum could not be stopped in their lower bracket run, where they would defeat Dignitas in a thrilling Finals in Las Vegas. Dignitas was just one series short of a perfect, undefeated season.
In Season 7, we see Kaydop join Renault Vitality, and Dignitas would sign the newest up-and-coming, Yukeo, to fill in Kaydop's spot. In Season 7, we will also see the signing of coach Snaski. Dignitas would fall one game shy of the regional playoffs, automatically disqualifying them from Worlds contention.
At the end of Season 7, Turbopolsa moves across the pond to the US, where he joins NRG. Dignitas signs the insanely mechanical AztraL to fill in his spot and Coach Virge. This roster would go on to create Rocket League's most insane come-from-behind story. One game away from elimination in the regional playoffs, Dignitas would reverse sweep FC Barcelona after an inspirational speech from Coach Virge, two of those wins being in overtime. Dignitas would go on to win their next series and clinch their spot for Worlds. The insane comeback can be seen below, on Virge's YouTube channel. Dignitas would fall just short of the Grand Finals at the World Championship, in what is one of, if not the most, exciting matches in RLCS history. That match can also be watched down below, where Dignitas goes back and forth all series with Renault Vitality, including a 5-minute overtime win for Dignitas in game 6.
In Season 9, we see the whole roster stick together for the first time since Season 6. Coming just short of the Grand Finals in their first season as a team, they are confident they can go on to win the World Championship. Unfortunately, we see the cancellation of Worlds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dignitas would finish the regular season 7-2 and defeat the #1 seed Renault Vitality in the Regional Finals. The cancellation of Worlds was quite unfortunate, as Dignitas was on a roll, finishing the season as the top team from Europe.
Before the beginning of Season X, we see AztraL and Dignitas part ways. Aztral would go on to join Oxygen Esports while Dignitas brings on up-and-comer Joreuz. RLCS Season X would end up having all three majors and the World Championship cancelled for this season as well. Dignitas would have three impressive Regional Event performances but would have an underwhelming European Online Fall Major performance.
At the conclusion of the Fall Split, Dignitas and Yukeo would part ways despite Yukeo still being under contract with Dignitas. To fill this spot, Dignitas would sign young star, ApparentlyJack, who has recently made quite the name for himself under the roster Stormtroopers. Dignitas is really good at finding and signing the newest and greatest talent, aren’t they? The updated roster would have a good Winter Split, finishing third in the European Online Winter Major.
The roster would stay together for the Spring Split but would have a disappointing run, not qualifying for the Online Major. This was a huge setback as the team would not qualify for the Online European Championship and would thus end the team’s season and mark the end of ViolentPanda’s era as a player for Dignitas.
The newcomer for ViolentPanda’s roster spot would have some big shoes to fill, and there were none greater than the former World Champion and 1v1 legend ScrubKilla. The youthful, updated roster, consisting of Joreuz, ApparentlyJack, and ScrubKilla, would have three outstanding Regional Events, one of which included a first-place finish. Despite the good results, Dignitas would fall short in the Stockholm Major, losing a close match versus SMPR Esports in the quarterfinals.
For the Winter Split, Dignitas would have another three impressive Regional Events, with one second-place finish and one third-place finish. Again, however, Dignitas would have another disappointing Major in Los Angeles, losing in Lower Bracket Round 1 to Evil Geniuses.
The disappointment would continue through the Spring Split, missing qualification for the Spring Major. However, due to the team’s strong performance throughout the other two splits, Dignitas had plenty of breathing room to be eligible for Worlds. The team would also bring on coach Nick during the Regional Event 2 of this split.
Dignitas would start Worlds with a hot 3-1 start during the Wildcard swiss-stage. Unfortunately, the team would run into a powerhouse Team Falcons and a determined The Club, ending their 2021-2022 season in a top 16 spot. The team, apart from Coach Nick, would split into three different directions at the conclusion of the season.
The 2022-2023 season was a new beginning for Coach Nick and the Dignitas squad. With the signing of Andy, Dreaz, and Delta, Dignitas came back to North America for the first time since their Season 5 Rival Series squad. The new team would have a rocky start to the season, getting eliminated in the Swiss-stage 3 times in the Fall Split.
At the beginning of the Winter Split, Dignitas would shake things up with the signing of Evoh in place of Delta, who would go on to join Boulevard. The team would go on to have a decent split, just qualifying for the last spot in the San Diego Major. The team would be eliminated in the Group Stage but still garnered a helpful 6 points towards the World Championship point ranking.
For the Spring Split, Dignitas would bring back local legend ViolentPanda as their coach, but the team would not qualify for the Spring Major, ending their 2022-2023 season.
Dignitas would get an almost entirely fresh look, with Arsenal and Gyro joining Evoh and ViolentPanda. The team would prove their worth by qualifying for RLCS by defeating a roster consisting of Rocket League legends Rizzo, Alphakep, and former Dignitas World Champion Turbopolsa, and then beating The Muffin Men, consisting of World Champions Squishymuffinz and Gimmick, along with their teammate Aqua in a convincing fashion. The momentum would not be enough, as the team would fall short of qualifying for Major 1 of the season.
Before starting the second half of the season, Dignitas would sign Spanish player Stizzy in place of Gyro, who would be moved to the substitute role. Evoh and Gyro would swap places during the remainder of the season. The team would have a better second half of the season, but it was to no avail as the team fell short of qualifying for Major 2 and would conclude the 2024 RLCS season for Dignitas.
Stizzy and ViolentPanda would explore their options and join our former ApparentlyJack and Joreuz under Stormtroopers. However, Dignitas would sign the familiar faces in the middle of Open 1, and would go on to have an incredible Birmingham Major Split, qualifying for Dignitas’ first major since the Winter Split of RLCS 2022-2023. The team would go on to have a decent major, setting them up for success for the remainder of the season.
The team would go on to have another impressive three open qualifiers. Finishing 3rd-4th, 1st, and 2nd, ranking them as Europe’s #1 seed going into the Raleigh Major. The momentum would carry them to a second-place finish at the major, falling just short to the unstoppable Team Falcons. This would be a huge boost to the team’s ranking, ranking them as Europe’s #2 seed going into worlds.
Unfortunately, the team would lose to Oceania’s #1 team, Wildcard, in the upper bracket of the Group Stage and then to Geekay Esports in overtime of game five of five in the Lower Bracket Semifinal, one goal short of making it to the Playoffs stage. The team, including Coach ViolentPanda, would go in different directions at the conclusion of the 2025 season, leaving Dignitas ready to start from scratch going into 2026.
RLCS 2026 is sure to be yet another exciting Dignitas season as we see Dignitas making a return to North America, signing familiar face Evoh, along with Five3up and Aqua, backed by coaches Fishhr and Eclipse. The roster is very young, but these players have been around the pro Rocket League scene for several years. Despite a rough Open 1 to start the first split of this RLCS season, many Rocket League analysts and fans still expect this team to become a well-established, household name moving forward.

What a journey it has been for Dignitas. With many ups and downs, it is very apparent that Dignitas has been a staple in the RLCS for quite some time. With Dignitas’ exciting move back to North America, the team is getting yet another fresh new look. Many believe this will be these young players' breakout season. Dignitas never fails to create magic, so we will just have to wait and see what one of Rocket League’s most accomplished organizations will achieve this season!
