Are you on the quest to be a hero of Blackrock Mountain? Good, then you’re in the right place! This is the second article in my Heroic BRM guides (check out my Coren guide here). This article will be giving you some tips on how to beat the second boss of Blackrock Depths, High Justice Grimstone, on Heroic difficulty. Get ready to fight in the Dark Iron Arena, Hearthstone players!

High Justice Grimstone (HJG) has a lot of friends that are pretty important in the Warcraft world. These friends come to fight for him in this challenge. HJG’s deck is filled to the brim with Legendary minions. HJG has a large amount of faith in his celebrity friends that he doesn’t back them up with any magic! His zero spell count is a weakness that can be taken advantage of during this challenge. Fan always follow the celebrities, and it’s no difference at the Dark Iron Arena. HJG’s hero power summons a 1/1 spectator with taunt. Grimstone also holds the “home field” advantage, starting with 4 mana! His hero power and the extra mana makes a damage race almost impossible. As you can see, this legendary-heavy list can be quite tough to trump! The best way to combat this list is to either steal high OP cards from him, or stall out the game so you can play your OP cards. Cards that hit the entire board are also really good in this challenge. It is important to try and keep Grimstone’s board as minimal as possible. While the Mage class is optimal for this challenge, all the classes can complete the Heroic difficulty challenge. I have listed non-legendary cards below for each class that should be included in your deck-building for this challenge!

Paladin: Humility, Equality, Repentance, Aldor Peacekeeper, Lay of Hands

Priest: Mind Vision, Mind Games, Mind Control, Lightbomb, Mass Dispel, Silence, Shadow Word: Death, Northshire Cleric, Holy Nova

Mage: Mirror Image, Frost Bolt, Frost Nova, Ice Block, Mirror Entity, Cone of Cold, Fireball, Polymorph, Blizzard, Flamestrike

Rogue: Preparation, Cold Blood, Gang Up (if you beat normal Grimstone), Sap, Blade Furry, Assassinate, Vanish, Kidnapper

Warlock: Corruption, Power Overwhelming, Shadowflame, Siphon Soul, Anima Golem, Dead Infernal, Twisting Nether

Hunter: Hunter’s Mark, Misdirection, Deadly Shot, Unleash the Hounds, Kill Command, Gladiator’s Longbow, Savannah Highmane

Warrior: Whirlwind, Execute, Shield Slam, Shield Block, Brawl, Shieldmaiden, Gorehowl, Crush

Shaman: Earth Shock, Frost Shock, Ancestral Healing, Crackle, Lightning Storm, Hex, Feral Spirit, Earth Elemenal

Druid: Innervate, Mark of the Wild, Power of the Wild, Wrath, Healing Touch, Poison Seeds, Swipe, Starfall, Keeper of the Grove, Druid of the Claw, Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War, Tree of Life

This challenge does require a little RNG to beat, so don’t be disappointed if you can’t clear it on the first or second try. In the video below, you’ll see that sometimes you just need the right cards at the right time.

I really like the priest class for this challenge, even though Mage is probably the best class. RNGesus isn’t usually in my favor, so my priest build is built to be consistent. I have been able to grind out multiple wins in the challenge thanks to Lightbomb and Mind Control. Give it a try!

Overall, High Justice Grimstone requires you to outlast his initial burst, and then use his own tools against him. With a little luck and a great deck, you should be able to slay him in the Dark Iron Arena! Good luck! -Yusnaan
