With a massive loot pool across the different maps in Fortnite Reload, choosing the right weapons is key to victory.
Fortnite Reload has quickly become one of the most played modes in Fortnite. The reason is simple: fast-paced combat, huge loot pool, small map, and three respawns. It’s the continuous action that hooks you to this mode. Overall, it’s a great mode to play when you are bored from normal Fortnite.
But winning in Fortnite Reload isn’t easy. With everyone out of your blood, it’s quite easy to run out of respawns and lose the match. There are a lot of things you can do to win, one of which is to choose your weapons wisely. While there is a lot of variety when it comes to weapons in Fortnite Reload, not all of them are equal. Here are the best and worst Fortnite Reload weapons.
A shotgun is a must-have part of your loadout, and choosing the right one is key. Fortnite Reload has many shotguns across different maps, but these are generally the best options. Of course, if a certain shotgun fits your playstyle better than you can opt for that too.
Both the Pump and Tactical Shotguns are classics. They have been in the game for a long time and have proven their worth time and time again. The Pump is slightly better with its high headshot damage. You shoot a shot, switch to a rifle or SMG, and gun the enemy down—we have done it many times already.
The Tactical is a bit more forgiving but deals less damage than the Pump. It’s great for jumping into boxes and spamming the enemy down with pellets. While most players prefer the Pump, the Tactical has its place in the meta.
The Thunder Shotgun is also a great alternative to the Pump. It’s a bit more consistent when it comes to headshot damage. However, the reset time for the next shot is longer, so if you end up missing a shot, you can get punished heavily. If it fits your playstyle and you can hit those shots, then rocking the Thunder is a solid idea; otherwise, stick to the pump. It’s a bit more consistent and shoots slightly faster.
Although we put the Ranger Shotgun as the worst, it’s not a terrible shotgun. It has a good range and decent damage. However, the one bullet magazine is just too risky. If you miss a shot, you will get punished heavily. It’s a good shotgun for players who like to play at a distance and poke the enemies before dropping to finish them off. It does suit that kind of playstyle, but again, a Pump or Thunder does the same job better.
Similar to the Shotgun, the AR is a crucial part of your loadout, and there are a lot of options to choose from. Unlike the shotguns, all AR options are really solid, but some of them are better.
Both the Hammer and Tactical AR shine because of their fast-firing rates, which is really important in Reload, given how fast-paced the mode is. The Tactical can be a bit weak in the early game, but as soon as the circle closes and the range is shortened, this AR becomes lethal. With the attached Red Dot scope, it’s easy to fry enemies and get frags. It can also work like an SMG at close range, so if you don’t carry SMGs to save a slot, you can run the Tactical AR.
The Hammer is just a faster variant of the default AR. The weapon does have a bit of bloom and kick to it, but it hits heavy and fires fast, which is all you need from an AR.
The Suppressed AR or the Scar with the suppressor is also a really solid option. However, it can be difficult to find, and it’s a bit slow compared to the other weapons. However, the accuracy on this weapon is really solid with almost no bloom if you can control it.
Although the Red Eye deals a lot of damage, the firing rate on it is quite slow. It can be great in Battle Royale, but in Reload, where you are constantly surrounded by enemies, you need a faster weapon to get frags. Secondly, you need to carry heals and mobility, so if you end up running this rifle, you will have to carry an SMG because this weapon cannot be used as a secondary unless you are using the Tactical Shotgun, but even then, a normal AR or Tactical AR is still better.
SMGs are the favorite weapons of aggressive players. It allows you to pressure enemies when they are boxed up. It works really well for players who like to jump into boxes to nail down enemies. Overall, an SMG usually works well with w-keyers.
If you are planning to play super aggressively in Reload, which let’s face it, every player is, then the Stinger SMG is going to be your best friend. It’s extremely fast when it comes to the fire rate—the bullets bleed through builds, making it very hard for the enemy to heal. The magazine size is short, but the gun reloads fast and fires even faster.
On the other hand, Compact SMG is even stronger, although difficult to find. If you can find it use that; otherwise, the Stinger is a staple option.
It’s hard to put this weapon here as it’s one of the oldest weapons in the game, but it just doesn’t fit well into Reload. While it packs a punch, the weapon is slow compared to the others, and in a fast-paced mode like Reload, you need an SMG that can shred through builds and quickly take care of enemies after your shotgun shot. In this case, the weapon is just not as strong as the other two.
Snipers can be really fun to use, and they are quite strong in Reload, if you have got the aim for it. The choice for Snipers isn’t really that complicated, as all you need is a sniper that can one-shot a headshot.
Both of these snipers have been in the game for a long time, and most players are already familiar with them. The Bolt Action works great as a long-range sniper rifle because it comes with a scope, whereas the Hunting Rifle doesn’t. However, the Hunting Rifle is great for medium to long range, as you can quick scope it.
You can go with either of these snipers, and they will work well. It usually comes down to what you like. The range of the Bolt Action or the speed of the Hunting Rifle.
It’s not even fair to bash this weapon. It has been a bad weapon since its release. While it is semi-auto, it doesn’t kill on a headshot, which kinda defeats the purpose of using a sniper in the first place. You are probably better off with something else than this.
Apart from these, there are some weapons that are great in certain situations. Not every player might use them, but some might prefer them depending on their playstyle.
Both are hard-hitting pistols that feel satisfying to get kills with. Of course, you need really good aim to bring value out of them, but if you can, they can be very deadly.
Infantry Rifle can be substituted for your AR. It deals a lot more damage than your average AR, is hitscan but is not automatic, which can be a dealbreaker for some players. However, this weapon was really strong when it was first released and continues to be a favorite for some players.
The massive loot pool of Fortnite Reload is what makes it so fun to play. While you can play with any weapon you want, these weapons are superior and will help you get wins. But it also comes down to the skill level of the player; a really good player can win with any weapon.
