Who
We don’t all start on the same path we end up at. For iiyama they began in Televisions yes black & white as well! For their first ten years they were part of or producing Televisions in colour or black & white and monitors in black & white as well as apparatus for medical use at home. In these first few years the importance of establishing a foothold in its native area of the east as well as its Tokyo office and expanding outwards was key, eventually in 1987 they were exporting monitors to Europe and the USA. By 1990 there was a sales office in the USA, a 21 inch Flat Screen Tube monitor was introduced and iiyama was well on its way to success!

When
It all began in 1973 with Kazuro Katsuyama, who established iiyama Electric Co Ltd as a family run business back when monitors were not sitting on as many public desks as they are today. Coming from televisions and medical equipment meant moving into monitors was not a hard transition, they were the first manufacturer to bring 15” flat-screen colour monitors to market. This was the first in a number of first releases which helped towards securing iiyama as a “highly successful international corporation” with employees all over the world.

What
Getting to a the level of iiyama is not easy and neither is staying there. Through a huge network of reliable dedicated employees they ensure that sales and service is not a problem. Making considerable efforts to stay in touch with its market through various channels and staying right in the thick of things so they know what we want in our next monitor, these elements seem to be the hinges in this powerful unit. All the above does come at a price but thankfully not a huge one thanks to iiyama always trying to keep retail prices as low as possible.

Testimonial
"The first monitor I bought for gaming was a massive 19 inch CRT iiyama
screen and I kept it for a very long time before moving over to TFT
eventually. We had met iiyama at several UK events over the years and had a
good relationship with them. An opportunity arose in 2010 for us to work
more closely with them and we grabbed it with both hands. Our players were
screaming out for monitors and iiyama were our number one target, announcing
them as a sponsor at that time was extremely cool." - Michael 'ODEE' O'Dell
