Holding B Site on Mirage
How to play a standard B setup as Counter-Terrorist on Mirage.
How to play a standard B setup as Counter-Terrorist on Mirage.
Most Counter-Terrorists play Mirage by having two players holding B Site, one player Mid, and two players holding A Site. There are a couple of spots for Counter-Terrorists to hold B Site, but having one player at Van and one player at Pillar is the usual setup.
Van and Pillar
When the players go onto the site at the beginning of a round, one of them can begin by smoking off Apartments. A common spot for the players at B is Van and Pillar. The player at Van would be watching for Terrorists while the player at pillar would be listening for noises in apartments. If the player at Van sees any enemies, they can smoke off apartments or tell the player at Pillar to smoke apartments. If the player at Pillar hears footsteps in apartments, they can smoke the Terrorists off just to be on the safe side.
If the player at Pillar hears noise in Underpass, they should tell the player at Mid so they are not caught off guard.
It is crucial for the player at Pillar to tell their teammate at Van if the Terrorists are rushing through apartments. When the Terrorists are rushing, throwing a smoke won't do any good because the Terrorists are just trying to get money from a bomb plant or throw you and your teammates off guard. It is important for the player at Pillar to be able to assist their teammate at Van if the terrorists rush into B.
Dealing With Rushes
Rushes from Terrorists mostly happen on eco rounds because they are trying to get more money for a better buy on the next round. Some Terrorists will have a player throw a flash to flash the player on Pillar so they are unable to help the player at Van when they are rushing. If there is a smoke, most Terrorists will rush through the smoke to van, but there is a chance some terrorists will be hesitant to do so. Other Terrorists will decide to jump out of the windows.
When the player at Pillar tells the player at Van that the terrorists are rushing, the player at Van can spray through the smoke if there is one already in place. Otherwise, the player at Van can back off to Bench, stay at Van, or play up close to Apartments. The first option is safer because the player will have cover from the Terrorists and still be able to fight back against the rush. The second option is the riskier option of the three because the Terrorists will see the player quicker, but the player will also be able to see them and get a frag or two. The latter option is not as safe as the first option because the terrorists would be dropping out of apartments to where the player is.
Rotating
If the players on A need assistance, the player playing at Van is able to rotate through Market and go to Jungle or to CT Spawn. Rotating to Jungle is better if the terrorists are still in Palace whereas rotating through CT would be more effective if the Terrorists already have A site. If the player is rotating through CT, they should approach with caution if all of the players on A are already dead.
If the player at Mid needs help, the player at Pillar should move onto Cat. If the Terrorists have not moved to connector, the player can peek Chair or go into Ladder Room if the player at Mid is already dead. The player could go up the ladder and peek into Sniper's Nest to see if the Terrorists have boosted onto it.
If A site is already taken or is being taken by the Terrorists, the player at Pillar can rotate through Connector and position themselves at Stairs to help stop the Terrorists from planting and winning the round.
