How to Get Exclusives in The Callisto Protocol

There are different ways to attain in-game exclusives for The Callisto Protocol. If players wish to access additional content, there are currently two methods, and this guide covers each. The exclusives include additional skins, game modes, and death animations for Jacob and enemies.

The Callisto Protocol is a horror sci-fi RPG set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in 2320. Glen Schofield’s Striking Distance Studios and publisher Krafton have worked together to produce the studio’s first title. Players will have more than just the base experience available for their satisfaction. This guide shows how to attain each type of exclusive. There are currently two ways to grab exclusives.

Krafton ID and Platform Linking

A player can connect their preferred gaming platform with a Krafton ID to claim exclusive Snake character and weapon skins when the game launches on Dec. 2 for PC and console. Just make or login into a Krafton account, link the Krafton ID to a player account, and the Founder’s Pack will appear in the game.

A Krafton ID can be made or logged into here.

Season Pass

The Callisto Protocol’s season pass is included in both the $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition and the $249.99 Collector's Edition. After the release, the season pass may be available for purchase as a single add-on feature. For now, however, it's exclusive to players that pre-order one of the two special editions.

Skin Collections

One of the perks of acquiring the season pass is the access to new skins. The season pass provides access to skin collections, including the Watchtower Skin Collection and the Outer Way Skin Collection. With the Outer Way Skin Collection, players can adorn the armor of the Outer Way, an underground rebellion against the United Jupiter Company.

Game Modes

Although new skins have their appeal, the season pass goes beyond pure cosmetics with the Contagion and Riot Bundles. The Contagion Bundle includes a new way to experience Jacob’s nightmarish reality by granting access to the Contagion mode. Essentially, this mode further challenges survivability by reducing ammunition and healing resources while adding permadeath, restricting players to only one chance to complete each run. The Contagion mode also features 13 exclusive death animations for Jacob.

Riot is a game mode that provides a horde experience by taking players to a new area within Black Iron Prison and making them massacre waves of increasingly powerful enemies. The more monstrosities a player kills, the more credits they earn. Credits can be used to upgrade an equipped weapon or make a new weapon. There are 12 exclusive death animations for enemies and a skin collection in the Riot Bundle.

Story DLC

Striking Distance plans to release exclusive story expansions to season pass holders. No specific expansions have been mentioned. However, it is likely that story DLC will explore different characters and periods of The Callisto Protocol’s story.

Retro Prisoner Skin Collection

Last but not least, if a player pre-orders any edition of The Callisto Protocol, they will acquire the Retro Prisoner Character Skin and two Retro Prisoner Weapon Skins.

A Dark Space Odyssey

With engaging lore and atmosphere, Striking Distance is capitalizing on the excitement from eager players by providing ways to get additional content. Krafton account linking and acquiring the season pass are the two ways players can get their hands on extra content. Although there is some criticism directed towards the season pass, Striking Distance seems committed to using this modern technique in game design to incentivize players to experience more content.

This is the first title from Striking Distance and it will be interesting to see the reception among fans of Schofield’s Dead Space franchise and players that are new to sci-fi horror.
