Want to look sweet but don't want to spend too much money on items? Here are some items that will give you a bang for their buck.
In this article I will feature some of what I think are the most underrated cosmetics in Rocket League. Hopefully this will help you retain some of that hard-earned cash in your wallet to be used for other things.
KALOS (Exotic Wheels, Turbo Crate)
Unpainted Kalos
These rims are really nice because they blend two different colors together, making them easier to find matching colors for on the rest of the car. Kalos come in all colors, each one seemingly brighter than the next. What's more is that Kalos are one of the least expensive wheels, ranging from only 1-17 keys on Steam and 1 crate-0.3X on Xbox.
SNAKESKIN (Very Rare Decal)
Octane Snakeskin
The snakeskin decal is very cool because it looks like a mystery decal with it's flowing effects but isn't. As you can see above, if you make your primary a bright color and the secondary black, it makes the car look very sleek. My favorite snakeskin design is using a red primary color, black secondary color, with Cristiano wheels and a crimson Tachyon boost. It makes the boost pop but still fits into the theme of the design. The only drawback to this decal is that you can't match bright colors together on it very well, like yellow and green or orange and blue. However, this decal can be found on many different cars, including Octane, Dominus, and Breakout. Snakeskin can be traded for using a few crates.
CRISTIANO (Premium Wheels)
Cristianos are some of the cleanest rims in Rocket League, and they are completely free. You can really just slap these on any car to make it look good. Some pros use these wheels combined with the Stripes decal to achieve a simple and clean look. As seen above, these are paired well with a dark-themed Snakeskin car. If you play the game, you probably already have these wheels. If not, then just grind a few multiplayer matches to get them in a random drop.
PLASMA (Premium/Import Boost)
Cobalt Plasma
The original, purple Plasma boost is completely free. However, an update saw some original boost receive other colors, making them imports. Still, these new colored Plasmas are extremely inexpensive for their rich, colorful, and clean look, and only cost 1-5 crates. All in all, they are basically a cheaper version of the Tachyon boost, as both have similar visual effects.
ELECTROSHOCK/SUB-ZERO (Black Market Goal Explosions)
Electroshock and Sub-Zero
These goal explosions were released at the same time and have coincidentally settled at 5-7 keys each. Electroshock is a bit more in-your-face and exciting, but Sub-Zero pauses for a second after you score, freezes over, and then shatters everywhere in a flurry of fractals.
This concludes my picks for the best bang-for-your-buck Rocket League cosmetics. Hopefully I helped you keep some padding in your wallet after your excursion to pimp your ride.
