WoW gold - how to play WoW for free only using your garrison

I have been playing World of Warcraft for 10 years on and off and the main reason that my friends don't play is that they cant justify paying $15 a month to play this game. In this article I will show you how to be able to play WoW using only in game gold, and with a 5-10 minute time investment per day you will be able to afford WoW using nothing but your in game Garrison.

This guide will assume that you are playing on North American servers, as WoW tokens have different prices in other regions. At an average price of 25k per token, we want to aim to make more than 30k per month per garrison. It may take you some time to get to this point of your garrison, but once you have this done you will be able to pay for WoW time indefinitely (or at least until Blizzard shuts down garrisons).

Main buildings

The main way to make money from your garrison is by maximising the ability to get gold from daily missions. The base buildings that you need to be successful in your gold making endeavours are a level two inn (minimum). This is because it allows you to recruit a specific type of follower every week, and a level three garrison allows you to get more missions that payout in gold. A salvage yard at least level two is suggested, but level three is where the most amount of rares and epics will be coming from. A level three barracks is needed for the extra five followers (and eventually five treasure hunters), which will allow you to maximise your gold income

Optional Buildings

Any other buildings that you decide to get are opotional, but I will go over what I use. The first building that I use is the bunker, because it gives me follower upgrades whenever I need them. This allows me to complete raid missions faster, as well as gear up new recruits. I also have the trading post in my garrison so that I can trade my extra resources for dust whenever it is sold cheaply. You only want to buy when dust is 4 resources, anything else will make it so you get less gold per resource. I also have an enchanting area, so that I am able to disenchant any blues that I get from my salvage yard and get more gold.

What to do

You want to log in a minimum two times per day to be able to complete the most amount of missions possible. I tend to log in whenever I wake up, and right before I got to bed to do my garrison missions. Always be sure to maximise the amount of treasure hunters on a mission so that you can get up to quadruple the amount of gold. I tend to try to make sure I get all of my followers out every opportunity so that I can get more crates, but if you do not have enough resources or are trying to get arcane dust, it is alright if you only send out gold missions. Keep in mind that this guide is very basic, and with continuous playing you will be able to get much more gold from world drops and other stuff, this is just as a base to pay your monthly fee. I strongly suggest leveling more than one character to max so that you have more income, but you may be restricted by time.

More Garrisons?

If you have more garrisons it's easier to make more gold. Although I am not the most efficient player, I have made over 120k in 30 days from using three garrisons, and not on a consistant basis. This money can be used on the black market auction house, used for in game time, or whatever you please, but with this guide you can get a base of 30k from one garrison per month extremely easily.
